To me, SWTOR feels like another predictable and soulless experience. It’s akin to a slick Hollywood blockbuster movie with cardboard good guys and bad guys with copious amounts of explosions and special effects thrown in for good measure.

No longer are MMOs are created with the expectation that anything can happen. Those days are long past. If players were left to forge their own destinies it would result in chaos and conflict which would be unacceptable to the story obsessed new breed of video game designer who insists that every aspect of what a player does should be tightly controlled and scripted. You see, you as a player can’t be trusted.

Instead MMOs have become virtual sausage factories where the spectator-like player sits back and enjoys the ride. Game design has been reduced to process of crafting every moment of the player experience — nothing is left to chance — a philosophy that would make amusement park tycoon Walt Disney proud.

Nothing the devs do to this game will ever pull it away from being the above statment. And its not good enough for me. Im better then that. I feel far to superior to lower myself into playing something as cheesy and mainstream like SWTOR. Im way to hardcore and COOL to ever buy it. My friends are to hardcore and COOL also. We hang in our own ELITE MMOS and laugh at the weak and feeble that cant hack it in the games we play. That is the real truth.. But in recent years Iv gotten more and more upset with developers for making these dumb down game. But I now understand after watching that live streem.. They are also Hardcore and COOL because they are scaming YOU into buying these games. You can see it in the smirks on their faces when they look out into the crowed. You can see what they are thinking by looking into their eyes "hehe What a bunch of suckers, lets throw them a few bones and say we are fixing things later.. and take more money from them while they wait"  The sad thing is that it looks to be working haha

My respect for themepark developers have gone up, because I honestly thought they were dumb, but after watching this I now understand they are very SMART.. and I respect a good Scam when I see one.. I honestly do... So my hand goes out to Bioware Well played sirs well played...

Do you know what would make a lot of sense out of all of this?

If SWTOR was another scam from GoonSwarm. Seriously, would you be surprised if it was?

And yes there are other games other then EvE that are good for PvP and that are MMOS. MORTAL being one of them. The rest are Korean I have a high respect for the Korean grind games... There are a few themeparks coming out that have better and more skilled PvP also.. that might be worth a look if you are not diehard enough to play full loot PvP game. I would look at both GW2 and TERA if I was interested in something less hardcore but that offers way more then SWTOR did. They are themeparks but I personaly respect people that play them. Played CBT of TERA and you need some skills to kill BAMs solo and you also need skill to win In PVP.. Its still to themeparky for me but its a good first step in the right direction...

I'd only play a full loot if it was with my guild, I know the territory well enough to know it's a fruitless effort to get anywhere alone. I have been keeping an eye somewhat on DF 2.0. I always felt that game had potential. WIth Mortal all the bad press kinda scared me away, never tried that one. And yes GW2 PVP does look quite fun, but not something to play seriously IMO.
