'No one really liked any game pre-WoW, you're just looking through rose colored glasses' - Despite the fact that many of those systems people enjoyed are still around and enjoyed today although spread amongst 10+ various games rather than all under one roof, 13-15 years later.
'You'll never love another MMO as much as your first!' - Bull. My first MMO was Ok, I loved my second, quit my third to return to my second, quit my second when I fell in love with my 4th...and on and on...
People suffering from the inability to consider concepts foreign to them in depth and honestly seem overly attracted to cliches and any clever single sentence remark that can neatly sum up and categorize complicated scenarios that are more than black and white. It's an easy and convenient way for them to avoid doing any homework or analysis of their own.

"There's no innovation in today's games". Followed by "Why can't they make a game like x or y".
That one drives me up the wall.
There's no innovation in today's games.
What about game A?
That's space. I don;t like space.
Ok, what about game B?
It's all solo play.
Ok, then game C and D?
I don't like the art style
Alright, how about E?
It doesn't have an auction house, a STAPLE of modern MMOs!
Game F?
It's 2D
Game G
Anime sucks
Is there something in particular you are looking for in a game?
[favorite game] was perfect. I don't see why devs don't just make a new game with all the features everyone loved from [favorite game].

Hehe.
You can add "If you don't like teleporting, then don't use it!" to that list.

This thread has turned from 'cliches' into 'anything I have ever heard someone, even one, person say on these forums and can use as a way to snipe at someone else in a self superior smug way'.
Time to let it go?
After all, it's not like anyone who posts here is vastly original... The vast majority just parrot whatever 'pro' opinion it is fashionable to have at any given time and most even use tired borrowed memmes on a regular basis to be one of the cool kids.
Folks in glass houses, and all that cliched stuff.

I think that's the most seen statement on these forums in all its many variants: people who dislike a game who're completely unable to understand that if they didn't like it, other people might still have an awesome fun gaming experience in it. That's one bridge too far for many.

I actually don't know - haven't even met - anyone who uses crossfire - or Xfire for that matter. I must be lucky.

Well, I personally don't know anyone who uses XFire, not even my son and his friends, but someone seems to.
