Can you tell me which CPU you think is better? AMD or Pentium, and how much does it cost? Look at my CPU in the post above, what is the BEST CPU? I MUST KNOW!!

ok well here's the deal with that...

    that celeron...just no

    no

celeron's are NOT for gaming, they go sooo slow

i suggest amd over pentium for gaming

    it's cheaper

pentium is like 100 bucks more..but they are better for business

amd if the one for you!

and make sure it's either a amd 2500, or higher than a amd2800

    don't get any other amd

if your mobo is good, u wanna first replace that duron

    check the amd 2500

that'll get you to a hundred

    then ur ram

    add more...change the speed

    another hundred

    the graphics are meh

    umm

let's see...it's just too much to list....you;re gonna have to like almost replace the whole thing!

yea...by that i mean it's not too goodimageimage

  • SerienSerien Member CommonPosts: 8,460

    lol heh np

    i suggest amd 2500...

the speed on that clocked is 1.83

now on the amd 2800, it's like 2.1

i wouldn't pay another 50 bucks for that little bit more..just overclock it

im running on a amd 2500image

If you have the money for the better one, go for it...if not, then it won't make a huge difference...Pentium 4 suits me better though :)   2.6 GHz :)

Is this right? It's only $85 bucks!!!

    Model: AMD Athlon XP 2500+
    Core: Barton
    Operating Frequency: 1.83GHz
    FSB: 333MHz
    Cache: L1/64K+64K; L2/512K
    Voltage: 1.65V
    Process: 0.13Micron
    Socket: Socket A
Multimedia Instruction: MMX, SSE, 3DNOW!, 3DNOW!+
    Packaging: OEM(Processor Only)

If this is right- I really need to know if it's worth the change from intel celeron to AMD Athlon 2500. Because I don't want to be spending 85 bucks for nothing. Will I notice a difference in everyday internet use? Or just computer gaming usage? Thanks.

Atleast I think- it says Intel(R) Celeron(R) 2.00GHz and under that it says 1.99GHz

Then you shouldn't even upgrade your processor!  The AMD 2500 is only 1,83 GHz and is totally overrated.

I'm serious..think about it...why would you upgrade your processor when u hav 2.0 GHz.  You would be degrading it not upgrading it(not sure if thats the right word) down to 1.83 GHz.  Makes no sense to me...total waste of money.

  • YordoYordo Member Posts: 831

Lol, he must have not realized that u had 2 GHz.  512 MB RAM is good.  EQ2 is the biggest system requirements hog and you need 512 RAM for that.  Don't worry about upgrading that part.  What's your video card ?
