I just moved and can't get broadband internet. We have 56k and I was wondering how it will effect mmorpg's. It works all right on games like raven sheild and americas army, but i would like to know if i could play an mmorpg without to much lag? There are a lot more people on a mmorpg than games like that, so is it really worth getting an mmorpg without a fast internet connection.
My AMD 2500+ overheats like a crazy mofo... and that's with the AMD "certified" heatsink and fan. This is why I'm using my PIII 450MHz again.
I know once I start playing Far Cry for a few hours, my room gets all nice and warm since my computer is pushing out so much heat... so, it does sound like a heat issue... you should download SpeedFan and monitor your tempatures while you play a game and see how far it goes up... have you also downloaded the newest drivers for your videocard, motherboard, BIOS, etc?
Muj i would have to agree with Djiin and say it's a over heating problem.I have the same cpu and a radeon 9800, i built the system in the summer so my room was rediculously hot to begin with and after a few hours of play the system would lock up and crash.I only had 5 case fans at the time so i went out and got 2 more the extra airflow fixed the problem.You might also want to go out and get round IDE cables for better airflow, the round cables alone accounted for a 3 degree tempature change in my brothers system.
Yea the round IDE cables plug in the same way as the ribboms and as far as the case fans go my 2 extra case fans are just lying on the bottom of the case, not as effecient as having them vent out the case put just having the air circulating helps a lot.I supose if you wanted to get creative you could cut some holes in the side of your case for the fans to vent through and just screw the extra fans over the vent holes.
Hey im going to Uni soon so ill be getting myself a new spify laptop. And i wanna make sure it has everything i want. i want some good stuff. im willing to spend 1200-1400 Euro's on it. So can any of you guys give me some advice as what would be the best combination for me to get for gaming and work.
I was thinking DDR ram between 630and a 1000. 80 gig. 2.3 Ghz processor. faster if i can get it. but i need some advice on graphics cards, sounds cards, dvd burner or not. Pentium, celeron or somting else. Windows xp home or bussiness edition. that sort of thing. please give me some advice.
