i just bought my pc fromr ibuypower.com and i hate them. the customer service was the worst id ever seen in my life. get this:
i ordered and paid for my comp, and i live in japan so it would take about 3 weeks to get here. i wait for about 4 weeks and give em a call. seems that they hadnt even shipped it yet, because of the videocard being discontinued. now let me see, they build and test these things for 3 days before they ship them out, so they wouldve found out that within a week of me placing the order. so they should have called me or emailed me or something to tell me, but did they? nope. they sat on it and did nothing until i called them on the phone. so i tell them what i want for a replacement, and they say that itll ship in 3 days and ill get a refund for the difference. well, it shipped in about another week and ive yet to see my refund. i sent them a few emails all through this process but never got any replies, and i only got anything done when i called them on the phone and talked to someone. i live on a completely different continent, so calling in their business hours isnt just a pain, its also not a toll free number. there are a ton of other places online to get a computer, so try to avoid this place if you can.
just my .02, maybe youve gotten better service than i did, but i just feel like this is a terrible place to order from.
I'm looking to really upgrade my system in the next couple of months (before my birthday, in June).
What's everyone's opinion on Gigabyte MoBos? I'm looking into getting one because they seem to have the best bang for the buck. Also, has anyone heard anything about P4 prices dropping a little in the next few months? They've seemed pretty stable, but ya never know...

I dunno...after looking at all the major company MoBos at newegg for intels, I really like this gigabyte one, even compared to the top brands (ASUS, Intel, Biostar, etc.) this one is really good...and it looks so cool...
heh, they should make like designer parts for computers. just cover the parts with some shell type thing to make em look kool. queer eye for teh 1337 pc b1ld3r guy!
And they can break btw.Doesnt need that much effort to burn out cheap part or to seperate a*link* when inserting a card a little too hard etc.
That said these days not a lot of diffrence price wise for mbs so dont really see the need to buy cheap anyway when its usually only a few ££ less etc.
And id rather pay that little bit extra (usually these days the cost of a dvd or cd etc) to get a known company with good backup etc. Had too many poor cheap quality mbs go poof on me in years past.
Not all ram will work with other sticks of ram. Branded is just easier since you can always get another stick of the same.With non branded its pot luck where the actual chips came from on the stick etc.
But i guess if yer on tight budget then it might matter price wise . And if it works then thats cool
