Yeah, I'd obviously keep my heatsink on . It's merely showing that AMD still overheats if you compare it to a pentium chip. But i never liked pentium, they are overexpensive and aren't as good as AMD for games. And since the price is right, i'd buy an AMD .

Does anybody know if it's safe to install a fresh version of windows xp onto a laptop? I'm not sure if it'd cause problems or not. It seems that most of the drivers (ATI Mobility Radeon 9600 for example) are tied into the OS that was installed with the laptop.
Specs:
HP Pavilion zx5190
Intel Pentium 4 3.2ghz
1 gig ram
ATI Mobility Radeon 9600 w/ 64mb
---------------------- Of all the reasons to get a credit card, Red vs. Blue is one of the best.
I can get the stuff you listed for $803.00 US dollars (not including shipping) from www.newegg.com. They don't ship internationally though. But it should give you a good idea on the price. If your total is around $1000 US then maybe you should shop around some more. You could at least get another 512MBs RAM and upgrade it to CL2 (assuming what you chose isn't CL2), which I would highly recommend considering your other hardware. Good luck.

what do u mean by cl2?
can anyone let me know if i can clock the ram , graphics card, processor, hard drive i selected. Not thinking of clocking yet but would like the option if i decide to.
guess i,ll try looking for cheaper hardware elsewhere too but should start building it soon
hey i got a radeon 9200, i got a dell and i cant remove the old video card cause its part of my mother bord. how do i get this card to run at max. its goin like 60 fps on counter stirke. plz help
i'd just like to say ebuyer IS the cheapest option in thw UK. As far a i know of newegg dont ship to uk and if they do the price to ship that gear would come to the same price as the ebuyer price.
Right guys, im doing a Design project and i plan to make a PC case. I want to know what you guys want from a case. I'm trying to take into consideration looks and usefulness. Im gonna do quite alot of research into airflow and the science behind it all. So please, suggestions are welcome!
CL means CAS Latency. Most RAM you will see will be CL2.5 or CL3. It's the timing of the RAM. Basically the lower the number the better. This is generally even more important than the Mhz of the RAM. For example, 266Mhz RAM at CL2 is going to give you better performance than 333Mhz RAM at CL3.
CL2 RAM is more expensive, but well worth it if you are concerned with performance and OCing.

one main thing i want is a lot of ROOM
room to work inside the case, but yet, not so much room that it looks liek a server case
room between the power supply and the motherboard, things like that!
also, make it gamerish, lights etc. but not too much where it looks fruit
and please..do NOT put red with every case! (almost all cases) have a big red mark in the front, lol

If you mod a PC case and want something that will stay cool, make a dome case. The air will circulate around and cool everything in the system.. Put the video card right in the middle of the circle and there you have it .
problem with the dome shaped case is that for it to be succesful it has to be able to fit standard motherboards, your not gonna get companies making mobos specificaly for a case! I have a design, im going to photoshop it soon. Sort of a first prototype.
how to switch out the motherboard and cpu..step by step if anyone has all that time please. thanks
reason is, i'm tired of these blue screens left and right!

im gonna try and build my first computer. but im pretty broke. so i wanna know if any has some old parts thell sell me. i found some 32 mb video crads for 20 bucks, and an amd 500mhx procesor for 20 also. if any1 has any parts for cheaper ill buy em. ill buy any computer part. if you have any suggestions or selling anything post it so i you guys can tell me if the parts will be compatable.

hey! back in december, these Raidmax scorpio 868 mid towers were teh pwn!
Not quite yet, but my next system will be PCIE based...it'll cost me an arm and a leg, too...but it'll be very nice...of course, seeing what can come out in the next 5 or 6 months, the system is bound top change, so I won't list my planned specs yet...
All I can say is that Intel sucks because AMD hasn't integrated any PCIE boards for the Athlon 64 chips that are readily market available...and I'd much rather have an Athlon 64 over an P4 any day.

open your case, some have a sliding mobo tray, which makes it easier, if they dont, its kinda harder,
