lol, the login screen is the best part of the game, after that its just a waiting room game filled with pregeared maxed out chars fun
Tell me more of your predictions, oh great seer.
The log in screen is nice, but really the only special thing is the music and it's simplicity.
its not a prediction its a fact. all the questing leveling and gear gathering means pretty much nothing
but hey you can dress however you want cool
If you're going to pre-troll GW2 before the beta weekend, you might want to remove "GW2" from your waiting on list, otherwise it just seems kind of odd.
your right Im not waiting for GW2 anymore, I just dont update my sig except like 1x a year. Im not trolling, ive played the game, and I just like gear progression, skill progression and character progression to affect my char some. I hardly have time to farm to rank 8 or whatever to be competetive in other games, like wow or rift, but thats ok. I at least like to feel like my time put in is going to progress my char. In GW2 it means zippo. I mean it just plays like a FPS where everyone is equal and thats fine, its just not for me

It would be stupid if it was over $5. If it's over $5, I'm not buying it. Its a dollar per color. Or you can buy a color pack at a reduced price.

So you're not going to play the game, yet you go to a thread on that game's forum and post inflamatory (and in fact untrue, but that's neither here nor there) statements about the game, yet you're not trolling? What would you call it then?
At any rate, you've decided to play Tera, hope that works out for you, but I'm not sure how what you're doing here will enhance your game experience there at all.

Or maybe you take a few jokes about login screens a little too seriously?

I really enjoyed the login screen too. The fact that the screen was so simple and so refined was such a nice addition to this great game. ArenaNet's artists never fail to impress.
I've been playing Mmos since Ultima Online and I am always like meh, when I see a login screen, meh just a log in screen....but this is the first time I've been kind of WoW'd by a login screen. The music is beautiful and the teasers behind the dragon is well done. Bravo...I hope the rest of the game is as well done.
WoW hated on for it's welfare epics and being too easy but GW2 making gear completely meaninglessly so that can-not-stop-drooling-on-his-keyboard-boy is just as strong as studied-my-class-and-put-in-effort-guy.
MMO's are all about progression but in GW2 you never have to worry about someone being more advance than you it is all made fair and if you worked hard you are brought down.... if you didn't try and all you are brought up.... balance at it's finest.
It's a log in screen. WoW made a big deal out of cata log in screen and was bashed into the ground for it but GW2 thread about it's log in screen and it receieves praises.
This game truly has everyone blind to reality of it not being as great as they are hyping it to be.
What...
Are you one of those people that got geared and then talked down to all the people still getting gear because you considered yourself more talented than them? If it's true, it's really sad.
The way it works in this game is people with skill will beat people that do not have skill. Obviously this game is not for you.
I don't talk down anyone for not being about to obtain gear that I can in MMO's that require effort(Time != Effort, however is a part of it as without time you can not put in effort). I actually try to help people who can not pass certain milestones in the game so that they can feel the same joy I do for completely something that was difficult and worthwhile.
I do dislike games that either have no progress, no degree of difficulty, or ones that cheapen your hard work to make everyone feel welcomed. I loved WoW untill they stripped what it meant to be hardcore away from their game. I never had much interest in GW2 because of their stance of everyone being equal no matter what you do in the game.
GW2 isn't for me and thanks but I didn't need you to tell me that at all. The fact remains that character progression in the game is pretty meaninglessly and how much of an MMO is one with no real character growth? We've seen how well story will keep your players happy in SWTOR. Without progression, what will GW2 have to offer?
I really enjoyed the login screen too. The fact that the screen was so simple and so refined was such a nice addition to this great game. ArenaNet's artists never fail to impress.
That's just at the start of the game. How will it look at end game?

Hi Im a G2 Fanboi and I love the login screen...I know I may not be as hardcore as all the guys who "claim" to be hardcore..Yet something tells me most are "lawl" and like most people who troll MMO forums there usually a joke when it comes to game skills.
FYI! 1Day 19H 03mXs till Beta is all Im saying! Looking forward to an amazing game no matter what any nayser says!

If you define "growth" only by gear stats and set/trinket procs then you're right.
However, GW2 has a skill system where you need to farm skill points to unlock them all (a form of progression), it has a deep trait system that allows you to specialize in certain combat/support styles, and while gear may not be OP compared to other gear, it does have different stat allocations, and depending on your build, you may want to farm gear with certain stats. And of course there is the "visual" progression by farming a dungeon set that you like.
And nowhere in the issue of progression is the question of "fun". For example, Dragon Soul in WoW allowed for gear progression, but a significant number of people found the instance poorly designed and not fun, yet players will have only that for probably 8 months+. My point being that progression for the sake of progression is rather silly if you're not enjoying it or if it starts to feel like a second job.
At any rate, people looking for gear progression exclusively are better served looking elsewhere.

That makes me happy, the raid grind got old with WoW and felt like a second job.
Would be nice to have that feeling like I really want to log in again instead of dreading it.
I started playing in vanilla but got into serious raiding starting in Kara all the way through Dragon Soul, including hard modes, and I could never get back on that treadmill. Just think, when MoP releases all of the gear that you've been "working" on for 8 months is instantly invalidated, and you do it all again while paying for the privelege of doing so. Some people enjoy this but I guess I got older and stopped caring about this kind of thing.

It's not just the loading screen, but their art in general is out of this world.
Look at their forum set up. jesus it looks good.. even their damn forum, and "new thread button" has such awesome painterly look: https://forum-en.guildwars2.com/forum/info/news/Forum-Code-of-Conduct/page/1#post23804

If I was going to be honest about this login screen, I would call it tasteful.
It's a very tasteful login screen.
The login screen is better than swtor.
