    True, But many times people are not putting them down instead they are trying to tease and joke with them (even small mammals do this, that is how ingrained it is) its part of bonding/getting to know and a healthy one (joking not malicious stuff) but if you cannot control yourself you might very well get offended at thing people meant to be positive or humorous But you'll never know, because you never learned social skills and take everything as an attack and offensive. (Not YOU, but a person with that perspective, which might be you, i don't know you).

    Why is there the assumption that if I don't like something, it means I think it hasn't alway been around, or doesn't exist in the real world, or anything?

    Is it possible that I simply don't like it and want it gone?

    By the way, no "ruthless" (please, most of them are cowards if you met them IRL) community is gonna stop me from doing what I have the right to do. And that includes stopping me from complaining about some people being just plain immature if not cruel.

    No, the fault is always on the perpetrator. And I'm getting a bazooka and shooting the murderer back and telling everyone there will be consequences for that kind of shit.

    Again, you can sit tight and do nothing. Some of us like changing how the world works and often we do, in fact, succeed, even at a high price.

    The moment you stop caring about anything in this world is the moment you died as a human being. This is your world, and you gave it away.

    Don't confuse developing a mental shield against online harassment with completely ignoring it and pretending it it's not there.

    I'm not talking about friendly petting. Nobody in this thread is talking about friendly petting.

    Not at all, your free to complain as much as you want, but you seem a bit surprised that not everyone agrees with you. There is nothing sexist about someone telling you that it fruitless to do anything about it, its simply our opinion.

    I think we were complaining about things being done.. not thinking its worthless to do anything about this things. The fact that you think we are overreacting to what is being done to women is what is ridiculous and horrible. Would you overreact if a big guy said he wanted to bend you over and... do bad things.. lets leave it at that? If someone is stalking you via the internet.. digging up things, hacking your social accounts ect.. that is what you are implying is ok.

    I have said nothing to indicate I'm surprised. I even previously listed experiencing this stuff in other games I've played. Can't really be surprised at something I see on a regular basis, can I? Did you see my really cynical post on how most people are evil?

    My posts regarding sexism weren't directed at the same thing. They were mostly directed at this thread where people started writing various posts about how women are asking for attention and the like (and how that obviously excuses everything, the posters above covered that). Or your own posts about how we're narcissistic for thinking that we're being discriminated against (which is justified by thousands of human history).

    I came into this thread reading that article with a kinda "meh, maybe, dunno, whatever" attitude. Then the sexist posts started flowing in. While trying to say there's no sexism in the gaming community. Ironic, really.

    This is like a debate since the beginning of time. It all happens becuase people want equality. Life is discriminatory. All life, you cant rule out nature. Its natural to be different. No matter how 'fair' you want the world to be, its never going to be fair or equal. "Life isnt fair" theres a reason thats become a saying.

    Women are not equal to Men. Men are not equal to women. By a natural standpoint they are 2 completely seperate creatures. They obey different rules mentally, emotionally, and physically.

    Should one be bullied more than another? No. Thats not fair. But fairness(or justice) is relative to what you believe. What YOU believe. I dont necesarily believe what you believe. So life will never be fair. We will never be equal.


    Stop arguning about it. Trying to fix this is about as useful as trying to make the sun go backwards.

    Meh, those types of assholes go after everyone equally. They'll do whatever it takes to get a rise out of the other person. Made me think of an exchange just last night I saw in D3. One guy started tearing into another in general. Calling him evey name in the book, insulting his sexuality, implying he was a basement dweller, fat, loser, etc. On and on.

    Not sure why some get their rocks off doing that but unfortunately they do. Feed off of other's misery or anger I suppose. Sad really...

    1. For god's sake mmo gamers, enough with the analogies. They're unnecessary and your comparisons are terrible, dissimilar, and illogical.

    2. To posters feeling the need to state how f2p really isn't f2p: Players understand the concept. You aren't privy to some secret the rest are missing. You're embarrassing yourself.

    OMG logical leap much you took non-forced actions all the way to completed ultimate forced actions.  If you don't know anything about justice, legal theory, liberty, etc. basicaly you just compared an apple to the sun.

    I love the fact that your attempting to make sense of this and im gonna seem a tad patronizing but not because of our sexes but because you have obviously not done much reading/thought in these areas.

    If you friend is murdered one, that is a action that is real, substantial, a reality, and uses ultimate force.

    Someone, on the supranet (heck yeah) randomly being like you suck dipshit, why don't you go change your tampon (this would be targeted at a male indicating he is a female, who are inferior for w/e reason, cliche', massively bias, and illogical [yet it wasn't supposed to be anything but that a simple dumb mindless jest, if you bite you lose, for the purpose is to unbalance/upset you]). This has no implication for that person, they lose = 0, the threat of force = 0, implication of this statement (deprived) = 0 (at most a few seconds listening to him). You present a situation in you lose = your best friend, threat of force = death, implication (deprived) = live without best friend. 

    See the difference now lets look at what happens if that person goes, I AM GREATER THAN YOU, SHALL REGULATE YOUR BEHAVIOR, and stuff on him; This has no implication for that person, but they have reacted anyway, they lose = the time they spend arguing/reporting/ w/e, the threat of force = 0 (only yours in reporting him, thus if anyone is a actual bad person ....), implication of this statement (deprived) = 0 (you are upset [peace of mind], ability to play [what are you focusing on], maturation [you are petty]).

In each of these cases yes people who "friendly pet" josh around will offend someone who is hyper sensitive because they have been told, bullying isn't acceptable.. and because they rarely encounter it, just the fact of disagreement is bullying to them. it happens every day in schools.

    whats worse is Blizzard wont do anything, they proved that with WoW. They allow the worst sorts of treatment to go on with no or little consequence.

    Thats exactly my point as well.

    I used to play DOTA, its what LoL was based on, anyway the community does exactly that, and they dont care if your female or not, the abuse is just amazing, and I dont see any way of stopping it.

    So I had to stop playing, and it is sad, I stopped playing LoL for the same reason.
