GW2 Fanboys have made MMORPG.com unbearable. I'm out

Just what the title says. GW2 fanboys do nothing but troll everything around here and/or derail topics constantly.

Looking forward to when GW2 actually launches and its not the holy grail of MMOness they dreamed it would be. Until that time I bid thee adieu MMORPG.com

Every new game goes through this on these boards. Some people get over excited I guess.

Every game you enjoy or are looking forward to, will get torched on this site by ignorant people, always has been like that sadly.  Even GW2 so dont think its excluded.

i havent noticed a difference .. actually seems calm by comparison to 6 months ago.

LFD tools are great for cramming people into content, but quality > quantity.
I am, usually on the sandbox .. more "hardcore" side of things, but I also do just want to have fun. So lighten up already :)

That last statement doesn't really help your cause, since you seem no bit better than the people you "hate".

I love open world pvp and plan to play GW2 myself.

That doesnt change the fact that the GW2 fanboy community here is poison. Its like a malignat tumor which has spread its obnoxious tentacles into every other part of the website.

The forums won't die because of this nor will it change. Makes no sense you're leaving because of this. A better reason would be if the staff att mmorpg.com supports child abuse or something.

But anyway, you won't be missed.

Whut? Is there a MMORPG launching soon that has open world PVP? Must have missed it. Speaking of PVP, not everyone enjoys it here on the forums and seem unable to use their block button effectively.

Yeah, haha, that was more in reference to the fact last time I suggested in site suggestions that there should be a SEPARATE board for comparing games (GW2 vs TSW vs TERA vs SWTOR vs Archeage vs whatever) to keep it out of the other boards, I had the moderators (Yes.  Actual moderator) accuse me of 'not liking open world PvP'.

Dunno about an MMORPG, but these forums are an open world PvP wetdream.  Some fans are just especially adept at ganking. :)

Yea. I wonder if I am missing something as well. This open world PvP mmorpg must have some mad ninja cloaking skillz.

While i know there has been some good fanboism going on for GW2 (i am one of them) I am more curious what post the OP got so upset over.

Kinda odd, since i have not seen thatmany threads taken over in other game forums by GW2 fans recently, in fact i see the exact opposite more, haters tearing into GW2 threads.

I thought the ToR fanboys were the worst of all time but the GW2 fanboys are the most obnoxious and worst by agood measure.  GW2 may or not turnout to be a good game but the GW2 fanboys trolling and childish behavior makes it very hard it stomach reading any GW2 info or threads.

LOL, very good sir, I hadn't caught the reference, yes FFA open world PVP describes these forums well. Now if they would only let us loot the corpses. :)

We can see the light.   You can call us fan boys.  You can call us prophets.  You can call us visionaries.  No matter what tag you decide to assign to our kind.  We see a brighter future for MMO's.  GW2 will be just a taste of things to come.

Yeah, it started to calm down a few weeks after TORs release, 2 AAA MMOs pre-release like that were almost exactly the same as before AoC and WARs release.

Tera never had that huge crowd of fans even though there were more than a few and neither have TSW. ESO and WoDO are still too far away so therefor have things calmed down a bit.

Truly calm wont it be until a month after GW2s release, then most of the trolls will have quitted and spread to waiting for different games while the real fans will spend most of their time playing. Exactly the same thing happened after WAR and AoC was out and it will happen again (but I am not saying that TOR and GW2 will follow WAR and AoCs footsteps, just that the forum PvP will calm down).

No one will call you "visionary" for looking forward to a game. The real visionary is Jeff Strain that had the idea of GW2 (and Diablo and Class 4 as well). It would be like calling yourself a musician because you listen to a lot of music.

You sound religious. I just want a fun game and most other people here as well. GW2 seems fun so I will play it but it wont completely change the genre. At best it will make EA and Activision to start cloning it instead of Wow.

While I agree that there was a lot of trash talk between WAR and AoC, they generally aimed it at each other.  I've been on these forums for going on 6 years and in that time (can't speak for before that) I haven't seen anything like what has gone on with some of the GW2 fans going to other games forums.  I've not seen anything like the extent it goes on before.  The only other comparison I can make are the Darkfall fans before that game came out, but there were never as many because it was such a nich game.

It's when the developers say "We're going to be bigger than WoW! We're going to be the biggest MMO ever!" That's what gets the fanboys to go to war lol. Tera and TSW never made those claims, so people are like "meh".

Really? I thought it was more about EA slowly dying and blizzard's blunders with diablo 3 (which isn't even an MMO). Not to mention TSW... Look I'm not defending GW2 or anything. I just wanted to point out the games that seem to be dominate MMORPG.com as well and how wrong you are. Anyways a single person won't exactly be missed so au revoir.
