I will be cancelling my TERA and wil move to TSW. GW2 is is probably November/Dec so no point talking about it.
Reason for swtich
1) I like the ART work of TSW over TERA.
2) PvP / Battle ground
3) The immersion factor is TSW
4) Quest / Lore is stronger
5) Might be due to graphics but I like the gameplay of TSW. TERA clams it requires skills and targetting. In realty TERA targets system is so large, it is no different then auto attack. I will miss the dodge system in TERA
6) I can't stand the music in TERA
7) The instances in TSW are 10x harder then TERA.

good choice:)
I angered the clerk in a clothing shop today. She asked me what size I was and I said actual, because I am not to scale. I like vending machines 'cause snacks are better when they fall. If I buy a candy bar at a store, oftentimes, I will drop it... so that it achieves its maximum flavor potential. --Mitch Hedberg
I think the only thing thats keeping me from doing that is TSW's combat, I wanted to use a rifle and it just felt so bad and clunky. We'll see though, theres certainly alot of buzz with this game now.

Honestly, after the beta, TSW was a major disappointment.
The graphics despite all their detail are sparse and basic, the animations are horrible, the gameplay is spongey, the PVP is laughably bad.
Despite all that, I will also be leaving Tera and playing TSW.
Tera has become a ghost town in the EU and all the guilds are dissolving - whether due to Frogster or not, it means there is no one to play with. I don't play MMOs to be alone.
I know people who are going to get TSW and play it. Many of them were also disappointed, but at least we can all go play it together and see some new content.
But really, TSW is not a good game yet. It won't last past a month of entertainment, maybe 2 if we pad out the summer with extra drinking and barbeques.
Just some minor gaming variety before GW2.
interesting considering you find it such a dissapointment.. but happy to get more sub's over to TSW

I think TSW over Tera is a pretty easy choice to make. I think TSW's combat isn't a big of a regression as going back to an older game.
Welcome OP! SOunds like you be a pvpr, I can't wait to kil... err see you out there!
Ill continue to support TSW just as long as FUNCOM dont fucck it up. The industry needs a heavy contender in the market besides WOW. Rift is holding thier own strongly and i respect those guys. GW2 is more of a wait and see for me, played it a bit but wasnt impress, its only saving grace would be because it doesnt do sub per month.
This isn't about GW2, but, i personally find it funny when people say "Well i just quit game a. Game b will hold until c".
The irony is that almost always, players just quit game b and use game c to hold them until z (will probably be AA and TESO).
When will people realize that games get old reptetative and boring after a while. Usually, only sandboxes have more staying power for natural reasons, but even those games require large content updates eventually.
That's why i play multyple games, and will probably play both TSW and GW2. When one runs out, i'll switch to the other.
Greyhooff I been seeing a lot of negative review about the graphics and frankly I don't understand. This is a dark/low fanatasy MMO so how can the artist make it more flashy. I am running it in DX11 mode and the graphics are stunning. I need a reference to understand. Which game are you comparing it to? Skyrim? Battlefield?
Now Playing: DARKFALL Unholy Wars "Return to Open World, Full Loot PvP, Conquest in a Sandbox MMO with player driven economy! Just like classic MMOs!"
I tried to play TSW, the graphics were simply too... I dunno plastic?
I actually enjoyed a lot of the combat, however, every single friend I got to play who is playing TERA with me could not STAND TSW, every last one loathes it :-(
One of my friends couldn't even get past the character creator, the models in their opinion looked like a "PS2" game.
With todays themeparks, your correct by saying the repetative and the boring kicks in every time- thats because they are all too close to WoW in one way or another, usually in game design and quest design. GW2 on the other hand, I know myself and many many others are waiting for that because none of the MMO's we've played to date delivered an experience of such high quality and enjoyment, not to mention its entirely new.

I believe he is using graphics as an umbrella to encompass animations and the 'feel" of combat. Also, aren't girls fugly in this game?.
If they are ugly, be aware that a cash shop is there for a reason. Funcom learn abit from CO. About overall graphic, you did max everything out right? CAn your card handle it well?
Everything is opinion of course. Everything.
dunno if you will like the pvp at tsw. in my opinion it's terribly boring (and bad).
was on ultra with full settings 1900x1280 60 FPS. Looked terrible.
Edit: The HAIR doesn't even move in this game... its sooo plastic and static (the world)
The Story feels like its more on rails than any game I've played in the past 5 years.
Im also considering playing TSW just for the sake of variety. All my multiplayer games seem to be old style fantasy based.
I played the beta. The pvp was really bad. but i think the pve and the nice skill system (reminds me abit of GW1) will keep me playing for atleast a couple of months.
Jumping on TSW from Tera.....1st time experience with Frogster and in less than 2 month they already made me hate them with a passion. 12 of my guildies are ban for using mmo tunneling service to improve their ping. Even thou i'm not affected and still have 60 day of sub left i'm not going to log in or continue any longer due to frogster.
TSW here i come
If thats the case then it might be subjective personal taste i guess. Maybe its the cloths design that is putting you off.
I actually liked the clothes, the skin looks plastic, the hair doesn't move, the backrounds all look static, the top of the body and the body of the body moving independantly looks honestly wretched, them justifying it by warning us it might look funkey does not make it ok.
Just realized this a "prelude thread" to a "TSW VS TERA thread". Now that i think about, i was begining to wonder when these would show up. Well, all that's left is
ABANDON SHIP
I welcome all those from the Tera community that will play TSW. I know there are some good pvpr overthere. Fun times ahead
I didnt see much wrong with the graphics, but the animations. wow some were terrible. I remember doing stonehenge and feeling like i was in some indie game with the wooden animations of melee chasing you and some people stood still shooting.
What bothered me also was the lack of detail on alot of the gunshot attacks and ranged hits. Other than a small damage number ticking off there was nothing. Times i was running around losing hp got no idea from what. Server lag and a melee hitting from distance, probably not most likely some guy at long range shooting. No way to tell.

don't see how you figured this since the zones are setup where you don't have to follow any set path.. yes if you ONLY follow the story I suppose but then you wouldn't really progress enough to be strong enough for the later zones. SWTOR was WAY more on rails than TSW.. hell TERA questing is more on rails than TSW. TSW has the most open zone design(as far as how you complete the quests and in what order) of any recent themepark MMO I can think of thats already released that is.
