you cant port to other zones until you unlock them by walking there but doesn't stop you from just walking from zone to zone.. but if you walk straight to blue mountain you will die as you will not be well enough geared to fight there. But as long as you are strong enough you don't have ot follow any set path unless you are following the main story

This system will shine once people are high level and want to quest with new friends.
Xp is now dynamiclly calculated so no power levelling as well.

There is an epic struggle between the forces of good and evil, culminating in the death of gods at your own hands, you become a hero through your actions and its all laid out right in front of you.

I like how you don't explain your view point at all and then go off topic talking about Korean TERA's money woe's, when its a well known fact En Masse is a separate entity with the ability to generate its own content WITHOUT the Korean developer.

    Cool story though.

for me it's about presentation and how the story is delivered in a way. SWTOR had many memorable characters because of how they were presented in the cutscenes. I just didn't find TERA's delivery on their story or what was going on in the world interesting at all. Also been playing Alan Wake.. amazing story and presentation btw. if you really can't see this.. I dunno guess people really have vastly differn't views on whats a good story and how a good story should be presented.

I angered the clerk in a clothing shop today. She asked me what size I was and I said actual, because I am not to scale. I like vending machines 'cause snacks are better when they fall. To me it sounds like you are saying you really like the cutscenes from SWTOR and think TERA should have done more of them and they should have been better "presented"  I'm not sure what presentation you think TERA lacked, but when one of the main characters in TERA is almost killed by a god, I was rather concerned for his fate... or when another's father was impaled and his body brought to him by enemies... very dramatic...  I really don't think you played that much of TERA tbh.

I like books.. I enjoy reading... TERA has released books... they are rather good...

Heres the cutscene I mentioned, sadly its in Korean and on low graphics, tried to find it for like 10 minutes, best I can do sorry.

like said earlier I played TERA to 36 and found nothing interesting "story wise" in the game.. great if it gets interesting towards the end but for me it wasn't interesting halfway through the game I just couldn't continue. Cutscenes aren't the only way to present a story but for me TERA in what I played went the most generic and bland route of delivering its story content. Obviously you really love TERA so ill have to leave it at that,  enjoy your game

TBH I dont' "Love" TERA, it has plenty of problems, yet story is not one of them.  I could list off all its issues, for instance its lack of battle grounds, PVP rewards, meaningful reason to be a Vanarch etc.  but yet none of those were the reasons the OP listed either.

Frankly every reason you guys have chosen to heckle TERA about was a poor one to choose... there are PLENTY of problems with the game.

Edit:  you could get to 36 in open beta, 38 actually... its far less than the half way point...  Like most MMOs.

funny because every review I have seen pretty much for TERA talks about how bland and uninspired the story and questing aspect of the game is

    some examples

    Presentation
The story is uninspired and utterly bereft of characters actually worth caring about, and voicework ranges from mediocre to downright embarrassing.

TERA’s atrocious mission design. It’s a ‘Worst Of…’ compilation of MMO questing. Kill 10 of a thing, collect 10 of a thing, and my personal favourite: talk to a guy, who asks you to talk to a guy, who asks you to talk to a guy, who asks you to kill 10 of a thing.

the questing is seriously some of the most derivative and boring we’ve seen in a while.

I've read many that say its very "generic" which would lead me to believe that they are saying its just like every other mmo... so why did all these folks come out of the wood work to lambast a video game for having a standard feature be, well... standard?

    It makes NO sense...

Next they'll be saying that having a chat box is uninspired, game makers should innovate it with a chat triangle or something.

We are so off topic now I am pretty sure a lock is coming, but let me get this right, a person said they like TSW over Tera which caused another Tera player to feel the need to defend the game? Why don't you get back on topic because I too have left TERA for TSW but I am not here to bash TERA.

As some have said, presentation is what will hold person to a game over a next game in the same genre.. Tera and TSW are presented differently, and some will dig Tera and some TSW..

I feel TSW could use one or two months more of polishing..

Good stories should be presented in books or movies or even single player games, players themselves should create the stories in a MMORPG.  But that's a discussion for a different thread. image

it does not mater if you claim it was your works or not, as you included it in something you posted it is implied it is your work, you MUST cite or it is plagurisim.

That was taught in highschool, that is still taught in college, its a very serious crime.

This is plagurisim, you cannot copy others works and not say where this is from.

look up the definition of plagiarism I never claimed this to be MY opinions which is what plagiarism is.. also I replied with my sources above

it does not mater if you claim it was your works or not, as you included it in something you posted it is implied it is your work, you MUST cite or it is plagurisim.

That was taught in highschool, that is still taught in college, its a very serious crime.

lol you are really streatching here for one I don't see these review sites under any copyright laws since they are just opinion pieces and two from your link Simply put, plagiarism is the use of another's original words or ideas as though they were your own

Frankly every reason you guys have chosen to heckle TERA about was a poor one to choose... there are PLENTY of problems with the game.

funny because every review I have seen pretty much for TERA talks about how bland and uninspired the story and questing aspect of the game is

Are you going to fail Aerowyn from MMORPG?  The context of her post makes it clear it's not her words.  Yea she probably should have cited the source but she wasn't required to given the post.

Your nitpicking because you don't like the message.

Oh and BTW by posting on a forum the work isn't yours it's the sites you post on so all she had to do was reference the site by name, not the author.

I'd much rather that when a company chooses to phone it in on a feature, they're just up front about it.

Sure, promotional materials for TERA don't say that the questing sucks, but most reviews do and you'll get that impression from the free trial or the open beta. Short of the people that bought in the first month, without having beta access, noone should be surprised by TERA's bad questing.

But the combat, the place it wanted to excel, it did.

Give me a game with TERA's combat and TSW's questing and the refreshing environments of TSW and you've got a winner.
