Puhlease, you are willing to pay 180 bucks or euros a year for a service you will use once or twice? And not just paying for that, but rather to be served a bit faster.
Current subscriptions are thievery. Since the beginning of mmorpgs costs of everything related to backend infrastructure went down, yet the prices went up.
If you thought it was going to be the messiah of all gaming-kind, yeah, you were probably wrong.
As for fixes, it's a bit too early, there are some serious issues, the launch has been rather rough, but even the best dev teams need more than a week to fix their game, some issues that show up when a million people are bashing your servers aren't so easily solved.
If the same issues still persist for over a month, and customer support did nothing for you, then yeah, you'd definitely have a ground for complaints.
When the game launched, their website charged me three times, it took a good 2 weeks for them to fix it due to the large masses of similar problems, but I was still happy. In most other cases I would have had to file a complaint at my bank and go through a whole mess of paper and phonecalls to get my money back, here I didn't.

Starting to think I may have been wrong about GW2 being the best game ever. Don't get me wrong its a great world, fun and engaging. However, the level of incompentance in addressing some rather serious game breaking issues aproaches a level of rediculous. On top of the failures of the development team to take these bugs head on and deal with them in a timely manner, the outright failure on the part of the support staff is nothing short of criminal.
Just do a base scan of the official account forums and you will quickly realize there are some horrific issues with the game that are not being dealt with in a timely or accurate manner.
Frankly I now understand the justification of paying a month subscription fee if that is what is required to provide a quality support team.
On a personal note so far I have lost $50 worth of gems, 7 gold, and everything that was in my primary bank box.
However compared to people that havent even been able to play the game at all yet due to account issues I consider myself doing good.
well their game is awesome, but i will have to agree with you that there were issues that would be solved easily if they have done proper betas and not commercial BWEs ...
Let me tell you something. I am a subscriber og The Secret World. It is a $15 sub game, has a cash shop also. In game support for me has been awesome. But, with lots of bugs and some major breakers, each patch that has come so far, they say problem should be fixed, not only are they not, but new problems arise. We have been dealing with this with every new patch. This is coming from a subscription based game. And try to remember how Arena started, where they come from, and the fact that many many many people have flooded to this game. Despite the negative posts in the forums here, people are still flocking to it anyway. Maybe they will need to hire more staff, i don't know. But so far i havent run in to anything game breaking that I am aware of.

Really?
I must have missed the gun or the pickpocketing.
Last time I checked it was voluntary.
