    They'll just self-fund the missing amount in the last hour or so, like many others before them :) "last minute massive pledges"

    I am shocked people don't understand yet you can't do this. There are only 1 more 10k bids left... and you arn't allowed to fund your own kickstarter, so they can't legally do it and if got caught would be likely sued lol.

    I understand that the creator of a Kickstarter is not allowed to fund their own project, but why would Kickstarter be upset if *this happens considering they take percentage cut of the pledges?

    It seems to me that Kickstarter would want to fund as many projects as possible to make more money. /tinfoilhatoff

    EDIT: By "*this" I mean a creator giving money to third parties to support a project

    at this point, I'd be surprised if the KS didn't make it; the dynamic is right there for the final push.

    Because it would destroy the credibility of kickstarter, imagine a game nees 2m to complete, only raises 1m, rich Dev puts in 1m to fund it and can't finish the game because he has siphoned off his 1m back.

    let's not be idiots here...if the game gets to 1.85mil and has a few hours left. i expect and hope that MJ and team donate the rest to hit the 2mil cap. this is possible for those of you who think you cannot donate anymore bc the top tiers are sold out. just go to your manage pledge on kickstarter and you can increase your pledge to ANY amount you want.

     

    *after reading the post below me i wanted to clarify that i expect MJ and team to donate illegally if necessary. i honestly do not care as long as it funds :D

    but he can give money to somebody who pledge. i mean, there ARE some ways ...

     

    i think it will reach the 2 million. too bad that the game will not come out in the next 2 years. i am getting too old to compete with the young ones in PvP :-)

    Don't worry, it is at a point now it will get so close that in the last couple hours enough people will buy more FP or raise their pledge to push it over.

    And even if it doesn't they're already to the dollar value he's said he would continue and push out another kickstarter if he has to.

    Yes, it is almost certainly going to fund now. A bit less than $250,000 with nearly two full days to go. Fans are fanatic enough to push it over the top even if no new backers pledge.

    yea at the very worst i think it would end in the 1.9 area and he said if it hit that he would relaunch a KS in another month with a lower amount and more info.. so looks like this game is pretty much a go:)

    I angered the clerk in a clothing shop today. She asked me what size I was and I said actual, because I am not to scale. I like vending machines 'cause snacks are better when they fall.     Apparently it constitutes as money laundering and most banks won't even allow it.

    Money has to come from outside sources. Mark cannot put his own money in.

    It's close. It could still change. But right now they are on the verge of failing to meet the goal with less than two days left... Sad.

    The last two days of a KS usually spike quite a bit. If they can get and keep Amazon up and running, we should be ok

    yea the last few days are huge on these types of games.. and i think while many bigger games had a LOT more backers, CU has by far the most enthusiastic group of people supporting the game.. i mean just compare the top 10 most funded video games and look at how many comments those games got overall.. then go look at CU! lol

    Well I decided to finally pledge 25 dollars to this cause. This is my first kickstarter I've ever backed, and probably the only one for a while. I'm not even incredibly hyped for it, but I want it to succeed for the sole reason it is an MMO catering to a specific niche and not trying to be a cash grab for the masses.

    The most interesting thing right now is that when/if this funds it will generate a whole new raft of forum "spam" for the whiners to whine about and it's gonna last months hoho.
