This poll needs an option for zero. I have played a few fore more than a year, none in the last 7 years, but I know there are people out there that have never ever stuck with a game for a year or more.
Asheron's Call, Dark Age of Camelot, Lord of the Rings Online, Warhammer Online....all continuously for more than a year.
WOW, D&D Online (and GW2 once it has reached the 1 year mark)... cumulatively for more than a year in total.

EQ (got into around PoP and played till Proph of Ro- least thats the last boxed exp. Ive got) Tried getting back into with Secrets of Faydwer & Seeds of Destruction but it just wasnt for me anymore. GW (got into that late 2006) been playing off + on since.
Ive tried out 50+ other MMOs from anywhere to a couple weeks - couple months. So far Im playing Neverwinter and friend got me into Wartune.
I played SWG from launch until shortly after the NGE went live. Then I played WoW from launch thru Cata. Since then I've been hopping from MMO to MMO trying find something to fill the void... I've also spent some time outside in the "real world" *gasp*.
I played FFXI for six straight years minus a six week break to go to Air Force basic training. I played WoW for most of BC and all of WOTLK, so however long that was.
I only played SWG for more then a year without a stoppage. Since then, there have been too many MMOs to stay with any for very long. I will cycle in and out of quite a few.
DAoC - Over a year, but the huge nerfs/changes got tiresome, still best RvR game imo.
Vanguard - Loved the game, but it got to where it felt abandoned by SoE.
GW1 - I don't consider it a MMO, but many listed it.
I would of probably played SWG for over a year, but I got into it late, due to space not being my thing, and left after the CU/NGE, so only got about 6-8 months in.
WAR - About 6-8 months
Rift - 3-4 months
TSW - 4 months, just not enough content, but thought it was a very good and original game.
ToR - 1 month
GW2, DF, NW and many others - 1 day
I have gone back to EQ/UO a lot, UO more than EQ, played the 2d client and was fine with the graphics and such, but I just don't like the new skill systems and combos. If they would of come out with the classic original server, I probably would of played on there.
Guild Wars 1 (7 years? Damned if I remember it was so long ago), Runescape (9 years)..some have added up to over a year but not consistently. Ryzom and Grand Fantasia are two games I've played 2 times for an extended period of time but never over a year; but I've come back to them months later (Ryzom I'm playing again for the 3rd time and GF died a long time ago RIP)

Originally posted by tkreep isnt it funny that most of the people that played a mmo more than a year are all naming all the classic mmos as in SWG, UO, EQ, GW1 and such.
Since when is gw1 a "classic" mmo? To me it was more like a flash in the pan that quickly faded except for a few die hard fans. Classic for me is something that can still get new subs/players after years of being on the market, something like UO, EQ ect, gw1 not so much.
I've played many games for more than 1 year consistantly. Some I left, but came back, but this is a list of consistant play hehe. I generally have 2-3 games that I play at a time

Don't forget Lineage 1 in eastern market, 15 years old and still is the best seller of NCSoft, just looking af the profits of the last quarter:
66 million dollars a quarter, GW2 went down because it is not a P2P game as L1.

well its a classic to me and a lot of other people so get over it...oh and it never faded because it was famous enough for arenanet to make a sequel. it had more than a million active players...
Eve Online was the longest at 3 years. Then there's CoH and Lineage 2 were both over a year. Atlantica Online would have been a year total but I took a break in the middle.

I put 1300 game days or a little over 31,000 hours into FFXI.
Those days are gone and so are the days of playing an MMO more than a year. I'm just not willing to put up with all the crap i used to.
And 600 of those hours were spent sitting around trying to get a group :P
Played Lineage 1 for 6 years and Lineage 2 for 2 years.
EvE 1 month, WoW 1 month, Aion 2 months, GW2 1 month, SWTOR 2 weeks...
MMOs since WoW don't give any reason to play them for more than 2 months.
UO - 7-8 years total
EQ - 7-8 years total

League of Legends for a year and subbed to DCUO for a year before the F2P push. Still enjoying DCUO atm, LOL sometimes.
I will never support freeloaders, no more subsidized gaming.
