Do some of you guys even play MMORPG´s, being so negative..

Best MMO experiences : EQ(PvE), DAoC(PvP), WoW(total package) LOTRO (worldfeel) GW2 (Artstyle and animations and worlddesign) SWTOR (Story immersion) TSW (story) ESO (character advancement)

  • Punk999Punk999 Member UncommonPosts: 882

    SWTOR =/ ESO

Sorry ESO is a RVR game not a pure story game. As long as they do that part right the game will be fine.

Also last i checked SWTOR is doing fine compared to most get over it.

What kind of tradeskill training can you do?

There's cooking, armorsmith, enchanting, and then alchemy. You can deconstruct things, which is how you gain skill, and you can refine things as well, sort of the same as in Skyrim.

    ---

Is there no tradeskill for weapons? Why did they lock it away for 2 a character, I always liked that I could train every skill and complete every storyline on one character in an Elder Scrolls game. It's not like we can't make alts to defeat the whole purpose of 'stimulating an economy'.

The last video of interacting with the world and such got me slightly looking forward to the game again after many disappointments, but this initial impression left by Massively and MMORPG.com are making me stray away again.

    There are some for weapons...

Sounds like some Devspeak that Mr. Matt (Its Too Hard) Firor would use to justify how they are making ESO.

They should put that on the Box - Elder Scrolls Online: Its Not an ES Game. Its an ES MMO

I'll never understand how people say TES games are heavy PvP games...last time I checked in Skyrim there was ZERO ZERO ZERO ZERO, zero incase you didn't catch it, PvP...So if TES games are supposed to be PvP heavy, then Skyrim wasn't a TES game either...In fact, I personally think of all the TES games as PvE games.  The sooner people figure that out, the better off we'll all be.

I'm still on the fence, as with any game I haven't played myself, but I look forward to trying it out and making my own opinion.  There's only one opinion that matters to me, and that's mine :)

Edit: Just to clarify, I can see how having all the factions and people in different factions lends itself to a PvP game, however to say an IP that has very little to do with PvP should go all out PvP is just wrong imho.  Here's a list you should take note of:

The Elder Scrolls: Arena - No PvP
    Daggerfall - No PvP
    Morrowind - No PvP
    Oblivion - No PvP
    Skyrim - No PvP

    ...just sayin'

I don't know why everyone is taking the time to say they aren't hyped for this.. you're all going to buy it or give it a very good try for free if you get the chance. Even those that swear they won't will. You wouldn't be here if you wasn't interested in it. Not being interested = Not reading articles about it.. getting a beta invite and not playing the beta. None of you will do either of those things.
I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy every minute of it.

Let me know when TotalBiscuit posts a review/interview of ESO as he is the only creditable critic out there over most of the laughingstock of "critics" that perpetuate "objective reviews."

Maybe because Skyrim is a... wait for it... SINGLE PLAYER GAME.

I'm not much of a lore fanatic but ESO is a prime world for a major PvP MMO since the races/factions are always at odds with one another it seems like in the books you pick up throughout the game.

  • HahhnsHahhns Member Posts: 210
Unless you beta test the game you have no idea how good or bad it is and a majority of you are not beta testing it...Hell very few of you are beta testing it.

I'm still really on the fence with ESO - hopefully we'll get a LOT of new info at E3.

I can see how the factions and putting people on different factions lends itself to a PvP MMO, but no TES game has ever been about PvP ever.  So to say, this game has to have the best PvP ever or it's fail is simply not true.

The Elder Scrolls: Arena - No PvP

    Daggerfall - No PvP

    Morrowind - No PvP

    Oblivion - No PvP

    Skyrim - No PvP

Elder Scrolls Online - Has to have the best PvP or it's epic fail...

    That makes no sense lol.

An MMO that instances, phases, and scripts everything to make you feel heroic? That worked SO WELL for SWTOR!

And "socially enabled"? Jesus. I thought all MMOs were supposed to be social. That's kind of the whole point. Poor Matt, lost control of this one and is now a slave to instances, which is what he wanted to avoid.

Except I would argue that it worked just fine for those that were clear that they were getting a bioware game. SWToR's issues stem from other reasons.

Not to say that I am in full support of ESO. I'm not.

I think they blundered and I think they are going to pay for it.

Don't tell us you are going to give this game the same over the top support you gave GW2.

Just the other day you were complaining about the game you claimed was the best a few months ago.

Being skeptical because of lack of info and out right negative are not the same thing.

Familiar with an overall 'feel' to the aesthetics of the game. :P

Can you answer my question please, i have already ask you?

Do the doors open like in Vanguard and i can just step through without loading or is it the same as Age Of Conan where every building i enter uses a loading screen?

You must know this because you mentioned entering houses.

The SWTOR issue stems from the same thing that killed TSW. Linear instanced storyline based games trying to emulate singleplayer games, DO NOT MAKE GOOD MMOS.

You know if a new music album was comming out soon, you wouldn't be 'skeptical' about it, you would either fancy it and eagerly wait for it, or simply wait and look it up when it comes out. Being so pointlessly negative in a meaningless forum about a game you have not played is rather weird, it's a bit like standing in a queue to see a film and moaning out aloud for everyone to hear that 'this film is crap I'm not going to enjoy it'

    rpg/mmorg history: Dun Darach>Bloodwych>Bards Tale 1-3>Eye of the beholder > Might and Magic 2,3,5 > FFVII> Baldur's Gate 1, 2 > Planescape Torment >Morrowind > WOW > oblivion > LOTR > Guild Wars (1900hrs elementalist) Vanguard. > GW2(1000 elementalist), Wildstar

Now playing GW2, AOW 3, ESO, LOTR, Elite D

Still looking forward to it. I can get the pvp fix in the area provided. Open world pvp does not really work as it just an excuse to gang rape newbies. I don't expect it to have everything I like but it should last me longer than ToR did.

What are you talking about lol, after character creation he was spirited to Daggerfall?

And how do you know it's both, link the source please.

Did you actually read the write up?

Sorry but this gave me a good chuckle. SWTOR doing fine compared to most? That is probably the most false statement I've read so far today.

I would say that the storyline was enjoyable for those who were on board with the story (aka - a bioware experience)  The issue is not the inclusion of story. The issue was the lack of "mmo features" and lack of any sort of end game (since it is a themepark).

Take away the bioware story and there really wasn't much there.
