I thought the whole idea of MMO's was for people to interact with one another, people will get pretty pissed off grouping if the healer can't see they need help cause they aren't looking in the right direction, not everyone has or enjoys voice chat whilst playing or it may disturb others in where they are (or in my case the neighbours will think I am talking to myself). Whilst I think the fps in the solo game is fine and adds to some level or realisim, I don't think it'll work in the same way in a multiplayer game, it'll be a hindrance in a lot of ways.

In real life you may hear someone/thing behind you and you'll be able to turn to face it, you won't have that sort of realisism in the game to hear the same sort of thing to let you know you're being stalked.

Yeah it's actually pretty simple. Just because your character is in third person doesn't mean THEIR field of view is behind them. Have them appear based on the amount of noise them make - awareness they cause to themselves. And if they've snuck up successfully, they're not on screen at all unless they mess up a pickpocket or something or actually attack.

Personally, in the TES games I use both 1st and 3rd depending on the situation.

For outdoor combat, I generally use 3rd only because in real life, I know I WOULD have better awareness of my surroundings than the game is able to provide in first person. It is a game and with it come limitations so... some fourth wall breaking is in place to make up for that.

Why do I write, create, fantasize, dream and daydream about other worlds? Because I hate what humanity does with this one.

BOYCOTTING EA / ORIGIN going forward.

I hate first person, never used it in any eldersclls game. I like looking at all the animations, sword swings armor and all that.  With that said if they wana make it more competitive between the 2 mods.  I not sure  how many would like this. you  see it in a lot of First person games and some times 3ard, its just not elderscrolls.   Some kind of rader system, its fantasy based but if they can haveballs and lighting shooting out of there hand, i amsure they can create some kind of lore consept for it to make sense.  Sorry if some one said something like this already, i not read all the comments.

First view will separate nubs from other players. You should have six sense to feel enemy behind you and turn in right moment to hit them quick. Third view is just unreal, and I'm personally against unreal things.

Funny, people want more realism in games, but opt for "god" view. I like the idea of trying something new. Hopefully sound and senses will play a part in detecting where people are.

Personally i would not play a first person mmo ...first person are for shooters.

After i hear that it will be a third person view , hell im gona play this game because it got allot pvp in it and the graphic is good.

So they will made the best decision to have first and third person views ...

and one more thing about casters/rangers being gimped maybe in 3d is a lie .

It is so damn easy to make a centered cross that will behave very good in 3d person like it was in first person view and very easy to aim and look/move easy
