Are you frickin serious? I just started!
Also already seeing people grieving over those waiting on cinematics.
Please don't 'WoW' this game up....I'm rather enjoying it.

Unfortunately that always happens, too many people equate winning with fun. And while winning is fun, how you win matters so much more.
"gogogo, I need moar lootz plz, only geerd peeples." -The rallying cry of people who ruin communities.
I've seen this a few times and got bitched at for not knowing the fights in Halatali on my Marauder (because I skipped it on my main). We had no problems clearing the dungeon but the simple phrase "anything I should know? First time here." seems to trigger the hate in peoples hearts.
I don't see how WoW has anything to do with it.
Why complain about something that has absolutely zero impact on you?
You aren't obligated to group with anybody specific, so just don't group with people when you don't like how they form groups. Simple, no?
The content in this game starts out very simple and ramps up. It doesn't take much time or effort to learn a little about the content before you do it to avoid "educational wiping." No matter how amazing you may think you are, you probably won't figure out all fights during the fights without dying a lot, and if you're with people who do know what they're doing, all you do is waste their time. Do you like having your time wasted?
I don't mind explaining stuff to people, and usually end up explaining fights at least half the time I tank instances, because I'd rather get the fight done than wipe repeatedly while some genius takes multiple tries to figure it out, if they ever DO figure it out.
I see no problem with people who have done content to death wanting to repeat the content for the 50th time with other people who know the content. After the 20th time of explaining everything to that one inevitable one person who's never done it, it gets kind of old.
And again, you don't have to group with anybody specific. If you'd rather do the small bits of challenging content with a group of people who have no clue and who can't be bothered to learn anything without wiping for hours, then have at it.
Premium MMORPGs do not feature built-in cheating via cash for gold pay 2 win. PLAY to win or don't play.
The death knell of the mmorpg industry.
As my tank class i generally wander through the dungeons aimlessly with an unsuspecting group. They believe i have done this before. What they do not know is i have no idea where im going. It's not until we've cleared a couple rooms before i announce im new and have no idea where im going.
Some people care. Most dont.
To be fair.. every new instance I preface with.. FIRST TIME HERE.
Then on another screen I have a quick guide to whatever the bosses are.
There was nothing more humiliating than trying to wail on that damned slime and not doing a lick of good, only to have a bomb take out 3/4 of the people on the run. Not cool and never again.
yeah i hate groups like that.. wish we had a ?brownlist/greylist? anywho a list of people we dont want to group with again that filters us from duty groups with them.. wishful thinking , i know.
my general rule- avoid the red, kill the adds and run toward the tank.
The game announces when someone is new as soon as you get in the dungeon so you shouldn't have to. But, I agree. I normally ask if people know the fight before going into a boss whether I know it or not (if I don't hopefully someone does :P).
"If I offended you, you needed it" -Corey Taylor
Agreed, but it is a sign of an even deeper problem: Predictability. It's one of the reasons I hate raiding. It all becomes so inanely predictable and repetitious.
Nobody wants to waste their Saturday night wiping so you can be "surprised". Its not 2003 anymore, the shits on YouTube, look up the fight and don't waste my time dying to stupid shit.
Having said that, watch your cutscenes. You spent 50 levels to get to see them, so enjoy them.
Ok, so let me get this straight:
-Forcing an entire group to waste their evening sitting out for you, wiping over and over and waiting for you to grasp concepts that the game has been teaching you for 30 levels in a row = Selfless and Good
-Getting ready and expecting everyone else to be = Selfish and the cancer of this community.
Are you guys serious?
I am the Guild Master of a family oriented guild full of newbies to the genre and people who do not have the time to really get much done on a daily basis and even us try our best to be geared, ready and know at least the very basics of the fights we face.
Stop using the "omfg rushers are selfish" excuse to do nothing by yourself and pretend for everything to be served and explained to you and have entire groups of people bend to your "needs".
Exploring the game and experiencing the content is fine, understandable and desirable, but you can´t make an entire group of people waste their evening for your enjoyment.
This isn't a signature, you just think it is.
People with your attitude are the reason I dislike MMO communities as a whole. The only reason you consider wiping a 'waste of time' is because of your loot whore mentality. Guess what, dungeons are as much about the experience as they are the loot (or at least they SHOULD be). Some of my fondest memories come from runs where my party wiped over and over again trying to come up with sound strategies for tough pulls and bosses. And you know what, there was actually a huge sense of accomplishment when we finally cleared everything.
Protip: Exercise that brain of yours & figure things out for yourself, rather than following somebody else's directions like a fucking lemming. Who knows, you might actually have some FUN in the process. Better yet, go play an ARPG; those types of games are much more suited to seekers of PHAT LEWTZ such as yourself.
'Waste of time.' Give me a break. Anyone else remember the days when games were actually played for fun, with loot being secondary?
Developmental flaw.
Putting a Tome reward on storyline trials was the worst idea in the history of the game.
Oh, you're trying to play the game and enjoy the storyline that you're participating in for the first time?
"HURRY UP n00b, WATCH IN UR MOGHOUSE. NO TIME TO WASTE 4 UR SUX!!"
Such an incredibly stupid, simple fix. I will never understand what SE was thinking on this one.
Waiting for something fresh to arrive on the MMO scene...
I am not gonna bother answering all the crap and random accusations you spew because something made up of wild assumptions crumbles under it´s own, ridiculous weight.
However, let me repay your "protip" with one of my own.
Protip: What you consider "fun" may not be "fun" for someone else and no, your fun is not "the right fun".
complain to the devs, and who said 50 levels? this crap starts at level 5 in a couple mmos.
I considered trying this game, but this does it for me. I will never play a game where I'm supposed to memorize boss fights just to win them.
I've done 3 dungeons so far (yeah only lvl 18) and so far I haven't had this mentality by others. Last dungeon (Copperbell Mine), one of the more experienced players even took the time what to do. So there's also a positive side of the 'know the fight' topic...
Unfortunately I think this is rare in PUGs. Your comment made me think though. It's like the open world FFA PvP folks who complain that few games implement their style of play. It's the few griefers who ruin the PvP experience for everyone else that drives away people. They are their own worst enemy. The same could be said for these 'raid leader' types who spout off 'know the fights' or refuse to group with you because gear isn't 100% right, or if you don't have the right class build. These sorts of players are driving away other people who might actually enjoy grouping or raiding but don't want to deal with the drama. They're their own worst enemy as well as fewer games cater to raid fights.
I haven't run into this yet, but I'm only level 34 atm with my Warrior. I'll generally say this is my first time here and then just move forward. If a fight isn't explained, I'll just try to be even more alert then usual and pay attention to the mechanics of the fight. If we wipe, I tend to adjust my tanking and usually we will plow through it.
I find that engaging the group in conversation every now and then helps take the edge off too. I haven't ran into any one who didn't want to joke or talk just a little bit.
If any one on Malboro is having grouping woes you should hit me up and I'll gladly party up. Just let me know! My character info is on my profile quote.
Really until you start doing some of the lvl 50 content you and your party can generally work out the little tricks to a fight etc. There are a couple of bosses before lvl 50 that you need to know whats going on before you enter but mostly its your lvl 50 hard modes etc. I really hate it when people jump into Garuda/Titan HM and say first time what do I do. These are insanely tough fights and you really need to know what's going on at every stage of the fight. Anyways if you are looking for vids on tough bosses there are plenty in the link below!

While those things can happen it would be polite of you to say in advance if you are new or last run you tried didn't do last boss.
Sure you will find some jackass who might insult you (Never In my playtrough) but usually people will explain before the boss fight starts, I know I do.
I got dragoon to 50 and now I'm leveling warrior. It's a different perspective so It's a different view of each dungeon since I am tanking but when I have problems and/or don't know any encounter I ask them or ask my guild. I even ask prior entering a dungeon if I should know anything before we start.
I know the trill of not knowing what's going to happen is fun but now most people you are joined with in duty are people leveling their 2nd or whatever class/job.
At least mention you are new or people expect you know the tactics.
if people don't like their time wasted then they shouldn't use dungeon finders. its stupid to expect a party generated from a pool of completely random players to be even somewhat decent. By bailing out of a game you put everybody else back into a queue, which is especially annoying for dps classes (i'm a tank so I don't actually have this problem but I sympathize with them). SE should implement 1 hr dungeon finder leaving debuff for people toxic enough to bail on their team in the middle of a dungeon. if you are tired of having to deal with the nuances that are part of playing with randoms, then don't play with randoms.
