In Amdapor we wiped on 2nd boss but was still tagged as "new" when I tried to join another party, I told them I knew everything till 2nd boss and they explained me last boss only.

I agree with him, people don't pay attention to the new message so why not waste 1 minute and type "hi guys I'm new mind explaining what I need to do?"

You did right to state that you knew everything until 2nd boss, that way they don't assume that someone is entirely new which would be the correct assumption given that it does say that someone is new to the dungeon.

Furthermore, far from every new player wants the battle mechanics "spoiled", but sure if someone else in the party feels that the new player has to know in advance, that "someone" can explains the mechanics.

What I expect people to do is to greet each other at the start of the dungeon and do a form of goodbye once the dungeon is finished. I don't think people should be stating redundant information that the game already states.

You see, it's this kind of crap why I don't play most of these themepark MMO's and such anymore. Why is it assumed that you wanna sprint through a fricking dungeon? Why must I skip cutscenes and be told all the secrets of the bosses so you can get 'MOAR'? Maybe you guys are the ones that should announce ahead of time that you wanna play the dungeon differently than it was intended? FF games are based more heavily on plot and figuring stuff out than most rpgs. If they wanted everyone to expect you know the mechanics of every boss, they coulda just given you a guide sheet at the start of the dungeon or put it in through an NPC reliving his/her past efforts.

What happened, GASP!, to the concept of you might have to wipe a few times to figure things out? I guess nowadays ppl are too stupid, lazy and impatient to actually try to take on the challenge of figuring it out for yourself (ie., actually use your brain) and more intent on claiming a few pieces of possession or status for a damn digital character. The proverbial gear treadmill. Thus the expectation that you can speed clear the dungeon with your min/max strategy, sprint past content, and skip cutscenes all while looking up online cheat sheets for how to defeat a mob. Might I posit the theory that you are the one 'doing it wrong'?

Here's a little 'protip' for all of you; you are not a level 50 and you don't 'have a full set' of any armor. You are playing a game and your 'character' has that stuff. You are not your character and you don't gain anything for cultivating your e-peen. Maybe play like you have a brain and you might gain something from playing other than arrogance through proxy.

No one is spoiling you anything, you will know what are the bad things this boss does and what you need to do.

The thrill of discovering a boss mechanic is nice and all but you are not being spoiled of the dungeon by knowing how to fight the boss. If anything it's perfectly normal. Even in real life they sent spies to find weaknesses and best times to strike X before doing any action.

Today I wasted so many hours to beat Garuda Hard mode because some people didn't bother check any guide or video of how the fight is different from normal Garuda. I wouldn't mind explain, once, twice or more but duty groups are full of retards that leave after a wipe or two, today I had a group formed after 40 min a dude said he's new and one of the dps instantly left forcing us to withdraw and much more bullshit.

The cutscene is the same as normal Garuda yet some people still watched it till the end and since this is not a new encounter there's no reason not to be informed of what's about to come considering it's tough to find a decent group.

Today I wasted 10 hours of my life because people didn't properly research the battle or weren't properly equipped for the fight. (You'll notice one is not equipped properly for the fight when he gets 1 hit by Garuda from a random unavoidable aoe)

I will be the first to say there are a lot of idiots and selfish ppl out there, so no excuses for some of those people. On the other hand, is it ok for you to repeatedly fight the boss but not for someone to watch the cutscenes more than once?  Who knows. I don't play ff14 (although I was scouting it out). How long is the cutscene anyways? 5 minutes or something?

I have no problem if someone new is watching the cutscene for the first time but once you unlocked it you can view ALL cutscenes even story ones when you enter your room in any inn.

I'm not sure but probably yea 5 min.

Which is ridiculous if someone doesn't know a dungeon will it really kill them to spend 20 seconds giving someone the run down. =S Really hate people that expect a first time person to know everything. Though honestly even if the tank fails on Halatali it is still a very easy dungeon to finish, kited the whole boss fight as an archer.

Also if it is the first time doing a dung for everyone in the group I would honestly find that more fun than having a tank who knows every mechanic inside and out.

Please don't 'WoW' this game up....I'm rather enjoying it.

It already got WoW'd up. What do you think they were doing these last 2 years? Making it a WoW clone.

"gogogo, I need moar lootz plz, only geerd peeples." -The rallying cry of people who ruin communities.

Getting more loot is the only purpose of playing this game.

That is so, so sad.  Your only purpose for playing the game is to get virtual goods that mean nothing and will doubtless be outdated soon enough as the treadmill starts?

The only purpose for you to play the game is to get virtual stats?

Take a good, long look at yourself in the mirror and see if you should be playing MMOs.  If you aren't playing them for fun experiences, then you are probably not going to be happy.  Of course you will be frustrated with other people who interrupt your loot quest with questions, because lets face it:  You aren't really having fun playing the game anyway and so probably have a short temper.

Not passing  artificial gear check is so fun experience....

Its how game was designed, its EQ/WoW model, its about loot and eventually you cant play any more if you dont get....loot

"Fun experience" wont cut it through gear check.

And since its designed that way BLAME THE DEVELOPER NOT PLAYER.
