There will be a lot more then just PVP endgame.

    1.  heroic raiding

    2.  Adventure zones - solo, small grouping, or large grouping,   these will be in the two other alliance zones its all 50+ PVE content.

I'm afraid the horrid combat will scare 90% of the potential players away. Just look at any video released, it looks like a joke. And considering that the entire game in centered around combat, i'm afraid no amount of AvA will change that.

I also find it strange to focus the engame primarily on pvp, when the waste majority of players will be pve players. (that's my theory anyway)

And to answer the poll; i'll have to see some serious improvement in combat / animations before even considering it.

I'm interested in the alliance wars.I could care less about pve. I  know only glittering generalities about the wars...and the game goes live in 3 months. What are thy hiding? Is it that low a priority for them ?

Smells like an AOC  launch...so far..and that is not good.(to put it mildly)

Combat is open in this game.   You pick a class which is actually more like a racial class in most games.   Then you level the skills you want to be your main abilities end game.   Any PVP knows that being able to pick your own skills for end game is one of the most open combat system you can have, and it will not be as balanced as some of these people who do not do their research think.

You've got to read what the devs say about classes and skills to understand this, when you do, you'll be like your other fellow PVP players who want to play it more then any other game which so far other games only makes your characters equal with classes.  IN ESO you CUSTOMIZE your BUILD the WAY YOU WANT.

http://www.elderscrollsonline.com/en/media/videos/657   Minute 2:53  (Watch this closely atleast three times to understand it.)

Race, Class, only represent a FRACTION of whats possible for skills.

You can have TANKING MAGES,  by wearing Heavy Armor and using Destruction Skills.    These skills like Restoration magic, destruction magic, bow, two hander, and all those skills are the kind of skill that will ultimately make who you are and define your charcter.    The race and class are both like Racial traits and skills from EQ2.

The real skills that will matter on a battlefield are from the skills you use from your ARMOR YOU CHOSE (light, medium, heavy) and your MAGIC (healing, destruction) or WEAPON (too many to list), and from MAGES GUILD OR FIGHTERS GUILD (not all revealed yet).    This is what makes your character the way you want it, and the skills from these things.

ALSO on top of ALL THIS, you can RAISE ALL SKILLS, light armor, heavy armor, restoration, magic, bow, two hander, AND SWITCH THEM OUT!  when ever you want, EVEN MID FIGHT...    This adds a really dynamic PVP COMBAT never seen before in other games!!!!

I think his mum complains about the actuall real time combat mechanics...

and i must say, i have heared more complaints about this,  its straight forward, not much mini management, and no cooldowns..  For people that love combat that plays like a game and not like real combat ( for example wow combat is very much like a game).    they might not be to fond of the TESO combat system...

But i have heared from presspreviews that fighting on par bosses in single person instanced tombs can be quite challenging.  And groupcombat and Pvp too, its all about timing your skills instead of using the right rotation...  Sure, if you run content two levels below you in a 3 person group, then the combat is less then intrigueing...

Overall, I'm very happy with the game. I think it shows a lot of potential but it will really come down to how much they support the game with content updates and so on. But It's probably the best MMO I've played since Guild Wars 2. However, it has something Guild Wars 2 doesn't have, an immersive world. If it has a solid endgame as well, then it will be a great MMO for sure.

All those others like: WoW, LOTRO, GW2, EQ2, TSW, DCUO, RIFT, SWTOR and DDO, all games that i am still regularly playing, games that all have their own flavour, strengths and some weaknesses.  But still games that are a lot of fun to play, just not 24/7, 4 weeks a month, 12 months a year....

i hope i can add both ESO and wildstar to that list this year.

I hope so too. Defo buying ESO and see how long it will last. Hopefully longer than GW2... Got bored of GW2 quickly

Somehow, the more people here bitch about ESO, the more I like it. I can't be that bad, if so many here hate it.

    Logic?

When I hated a MMO, the majority here loved it. So, ESO must be great. ;)

I second that, it was great, truly felt like an Elder Scrolls title :) Blended very well with the MMORPG genre.

While I might hate WoW, if ESO becomes a WoW killer then the future of MMORPGs is truly screwed.

Yea the early days of gaming when you actually had to figure it out are way over and that's sad too .Several causes which are always thrown in as in real life/work job/wife/kids walk the dogs.  In todays connected world people don't have the attention span to play a game in that style or mod. And of course any little easter egg or in game secret is just posted or added to some web site

who knows maybe the game will have a check box feature to turn quest aids off?

I'm in the same boat... I cannot wait for NDA to be lifted because I am a happy camper. It's frustrating seeing all the B.S. being spread around and not being able to counter it for the fear of losing beta access.

I guess you must be against chatting and the internet in general since what happens in real life - not in wishful fantasies - is that when getting to the correct quest area becomes a big chore or when the quest hints are too obtuse, the chat channels get flooded with people asking questions about it or they alt-tab to google an instant answer. Mind you, a few people never do that, and many more do but never admit it because that would be admitting they're not "hardcore."

Also, I would guess that you don't like TES single person games, especially Skyrim, since they also use marks on the compass, the world map and on required items...just like ESO does.

With mods, you can sculpt Skyrim to your preference.  Something I regard as absolutely required for Bethesda games, as they do a lot of half-assed design.   Mods are not likely to happen in the MMO version.

If you are holding out for the perfect game, the only game you play will be the waiting one.

Got a beta invite but didn't try the game yet, I believe this is going to be the next SWTOR. Also, factions are shit if I can't kill my own faction so that's a big negative for me.
