Yes. Because there were black men fighting for the Confederate states, and confederate soldiers who let them.
It will get a little questionable if a human becomes Emperor while fighting for the AD, particularly if (as is likely the case) the player behind him gives not a whit for the background lore. But we'll manage.
Nah. People will get bored and quit after a couple of months like every MMORPG that fails to incorporate a thematic world into their Themepark structured experience. Plenty of other PVP games do Meta much better. Mainly because the matches are shorter and way more refined. DOTA2 and LOL instantly come to mind. You can throw Starcraft 2 in there as well.
There's now not much of a discernible difference between ESO AvA PVP and GW2 WVW PVP. It's all about the points and Team color vs. another Team color. LULz. I iz Dark Elf and so can you.
I'll be honest: I really don't comprehend the logic that leads to concluding a racial conflict is more "thematic" than an ideological or cultural one, and the implications regarding the character of those who do follow such logic are not ones I would consider admirable. So if this move drives such people away from the game... well, it looks like a sacrifice of community quantity for community quality to me, and that's a risk I'm fine with.
As for GW2 WvW... I'm not even sure why (from an in-game perspective) that was happening in the first place, other than as an excuse to have oversized arenas. Did anyone?
p.s. Your analogy beyond sucks. We're not talking about a smattering of other races in one alliance or another.
Funny, that's exactly what the original question implied. Jumping it up after the fact to the "majority of the alliance" is a bit of post-moving at this point, and based entirely on speculative hand-wringing over what *might* be.
The post that *did* actually bring up the risk of "majority of the alliance" got a different answer, because it asked a different question.
