WoW says ESO is fine.
Bots suck but yeah...
The same companies that do in WoW, GW2, Wushu, and all the rest...

GW2 bot train anyone?
Why do you keep posting this in threads about bots? Not only is it 4 years old, but it has nothing to do with bots.

Better?
Yes, of course it's better. There are actually bots in that clip. However, it's still from 2 years ago and doesn't really do anything to address the extreme bot problem in ESO. I mean, does the fact that GW2 had bot issues at release make anyone feel better that there are a shitload of bots in ESO?
My account is more than 3 years old... So I hope my opinion counts.
Bots were part of the reason I did not continue my subscription. I got tired of reporting the same bots over and over, yet when they did a ban wave, I was banned, received an apology, yet the same bots were in the same dungeons.
Yes there have been some waves that cleared the bots out, but they were replaced by others ... I hated doing the small 'dungeons' hoping to get 1 hit in before the 20 or so bots killed it...
Bots are rampant everywhere and goldsellers flock to high-budget MMOs as soon as they are released. I would not expect an amateur MMO developer to be able to nip these things in the bud with any expedience (amateur in that it's their first MMO -- and most oft it shows). WoW still has BoTs in normal BGs, even though world bots are greatly diminished if not completely eradicated -- whether it be from design decisions, Blizzard intervention or it just seeming as such due to cross realms or something.
FFXIV had a serious problem with this in the first month until they permanently banned the gold sellers / buyers and severely cut down on bots (which they were always tough against, even in FFXI). Now I don't even get so much as a whisper from a gold seller while in game, much less see it in public chat.
As a whole I wouldn't be too harsh on them for this. Though I suppose it does mean something if there are more bots in game than players within a given area. Whether that means something in that area needs to be hotfixed since it's being exploited, or perhaps an indication of how the game is. Granted though, someone has to be paying for those accounts and see something in the game that makes the cost worth it. Then again, that would make it go back to there being one die hard fan or cash cow that has more of a presence than actual players -- which is an potential indication of there being something fundamentally wrong again. Though that's all speculation and forgets that MMOs are big worlds, and the area in question may just be one that was moved away from by the community as a whole (then again, with it's mega-servers I have a hard time believing an area would be empty often if there were enough people playing the game -- especially since it pretty much just recently released).
Too many gold sinks, and costly items in a f2p game... sounds like ripe opportunity for gold farmers. The devs are morons for creating their economy in such a way to treat their p2p customers as f2p with cash shop items and too many gold sinks.
The only way to make due with their bad economy is not try crafting which in a game as limited in content and variety in eso is giving up a lot to over come the unnecessary gold sinks and armor costs and expensive mounts.
Write bad things that are done to you in sand, but write the good things that happen to you on a piece of marble
Not seen a single bot for weeks, since they patched a fix. Old news, published weeks after it was a problem.
Well ESO is not an AA mmo..never was. This is 2014 and ESO new full well BOTS GOLD SELLERS would jump on this. We warned them in beta early 2013.. nothing. You new something was not right when 4 weeks in they still couldnt stop www/w/ww w*w*w an on lol yet a 3rd party could get allot of it. ]
I dont know whats worse bots or the people that keep paying to play as ESO does nothing to fix this. I always say.. its YOUR money you have the RIGHT to expect something.. and in this case NOT a unfinished bot gold selling mmo.
lol I guess the 16 + posts on ESO Cust Service are seeing things.. haha nice try..
I did not say there wasn't any, but that I've seen none (recently). Every MMO has a degree of bots. It was bad in ESO, but they did patch a fix and it's no longer a major problem. Before that patch it was very obviously a problem.
If you are going to comment, at least be playing and make statements from first hand observations.
I do read the forums and play.
There's the odd post still, but if you bothered to read them you'd see others saying they aren't seeing bots (at all, or much less) and disagreeing.
There is also the known bug, that harvesting nodes appear to disappear and are being reported/interpreted as bots (by some). Apparently they are under the map, invisible, etc. What is happening is due to a phasing issue (ie. someone in another phase has harvested).
I thought I was actually going to see 100 man bot trains in those videos. False advertising!
Cant people say anything without multiplying it by 10? lol
Most often payed for with stolen credit card details, otherwise the sub would be a penalty to any money they can make. The fraud is spotted and closed down but it may take a week to a few months to spot it. So the game account remains for that time.
Bots are being targeted in TESO, they have had to move out of dungeons where they were getting their best pickings. You can be sure Zenimax is now looking to knock out these new bots.
Not having a auction house has protected TESO from this having any real impact on the games economy.
You know what is even more funny ?
Zenimax reporting that their GM is comming online in 15 minutes to ban bots !!!
Yes yes they give the botters a 15 min headsup to take their bot trains offline.
Very kind of Zenimax
Had a few big facepalm moments when i saw them do this announcements -_-
Hey OP, if your going to come in here, make a new account to push your game and try to bring another one down at least face it that your game has a huge bot problem that has been going strong for 2 years.

If you completely removed the trading of gold/items between players, that would significantly reduce the amount of goldsellers in the game.
However, it would most probably also significantly reduce the number of players in the game !
The goldsellers would then have to rely on selling maxed-out characters, which they would bot to level-cap...
I think the trade of will be worth it. Make gold untradeable, use a supply/demand algorithm for the market and make a trader a proper and fleshed out profession in which you can buy, sell and transport goods across the map and have your own little army of NPC's fleets and caravans. Sounds better than a market place distorted and ruined by bots in which low level items are too expensive for new players.
