Most likely many of those bots are hijacked accounts. There are always suckers falling for phising mails...
And actually paying for all accounts eats up a lot of the earnings.
That is also the reason you never should buy gold from goldsellers, a lot of it is stolen and the rest comes from bots. Encouraging such people really ruins the game. If you really must buy gold, at least get it from a friend you know play honestly.

I hear this explanation a lot but honestly I just don't see the numbers working out. There are droves of bots in the game and they are getting banned sometimes as quickly as they pop up. I just don't see that many people complaining about their accounts getting hijacked for this to actually be true. If it were then we should be seeing posts and/or reviews citing hacked accounts as an issue just as often as they cite bots.
in case you dont know how bad the bots are in eso, ther eare bots that can have unlimited stamina, unlimited horse run speed, and unlimited dodge bots out already.
Will all mmo game bots and WoW is the worst of them almost all of old expansion dungeon is full with them and if people start to report all the bots and gold seller in ESO the will remove and i personal report gold seller and bots in ESO all them what people need to understand if we as player dont report the company cant do anything about it so it is up to community to help out.

Im not even joking, i wish i was.
This makes it sounds like it's happening all over, but in my experience it isn't. I've encountered 3 lots of bots since the game started, two in public dungeons killing bosses and one group farming by standing in the same place killing the same mob over and over again, so hardly a game over run with bots like you make it sound.
When I was with the bots in the dungeon a GM turned up, warned players to move away and killed all the bots, so they are tackling it as well. I saw this happen twice.
Can I ask if you are playing the game? If you aren't and you are just repeating what you've heard or copying YouTube videos then you are just trolling.
I really enjoy ESO, but the Gold Seller Spam and bots are a bit annoying. I get guild invites from Gold Sellers. I was even getting emails from an ESO fan forum site I joined pre-launch. I am sitting this one out for a couple months to give them some time work on it. I don't ever remember SWToR ever having this problem. But the economy is a lot different.
Played for about 6 hours today and I seen one gold seller in chat and zero bots and I did some open dungeons and about 3 or 4 different zones in the vet lands. They have really improved on the bot situation a lot since the first 3 or 4 weeks.
I also am vet level 4 and in all that time I only seen 2 quests that was bugged which I just logged out on one and the other one I had to restart. I really think that most of the so called bugged quests are because people don't read the quest and just don't know what they are doing.
ESO is the most enjoyable and polished mmo I have played since Everquest ( not that EQ was very polished in the beginning ) about 14 years ago.
They have done an amazing job fixing the bugged quests. I 'm not nearly as far in game as you. I have to think the Farmers and Sellers hang out in the lower level areas. . It seems once you advance to a certain stage in the game Gold isn't really an issue especially if you've worked on your crafting skills. But early on its an issue. I think if you reduce the costs of some of the gear on the vendors and increase drop rates on gold and usable gear through the first 15 levels or so, the demand for outside game gold purchases would decrease significantly. In SWToR you are never strapped for credits and drops are pretty generous,
I have a vr2 Templar, vr1 sorc, and working on a nightblade currently 14. I haven't noticed any bot. Could have been there but they really didn't effect my game play. Ran into some bugged quests in the 40 level range on my first time through but all were fixed aon my second time through. Not seen any on my baby nightblade. Some quests will stump you if you just spam through the text and don't read the clues.
gold not issue. Each character has a fast horse. Respec'd skills three times on Templar and twice on the sorc.
great game. Don't let the trolls keep you from giving it a try.
Aldmeri faction. Umbra guild Temijin Deathstalker, Templar. Temijhin Deathstalker , sorc, Temijinn Deathstalker , nightblade. Look me up in game if you have questions. Glad to help.

These forums are getting more surreal every day. I see the popular topics when I drop by and it's like they are talking about an alternate universe version of ESO.
I have a VR5 sorc, a VR1 Templar, 2 low 30s alts, and 2 alts in their teens. I play the game a lot... since they nerfed solo open dungeon's mini boss' loot (you get no drops after the first time and their spawn rate is slower) I have hardly seen any bots at all anywhere. Before that? Yes, there were tons there in every lower level mini dungeon, but not since.
Yet, the most popular topics in this forum are about hundreds of bots or the 40 someone says they just saw... That, and how the game has very few players... I have to wonder why the gold sellers are bothering with a game that according to the trolls in this forum is dying or nearly dead...
Or why it's still so important to some people here to exaggerate and outright lie about the current status of the game. Negative viral marketing? It's the only thing that makes sense.

Someone may have already pointed this out, but the big culprit here for someone witnessing this is the megaserver technology. *MOST* people playing ESO will simply not run into bots because of the way it throws you onto servers with players who have similar behavioral/login/grouping patterns. A select few that the megaserver categorizes with the bots, however, will be dumped on the same server with the rest of them and experience phenomena such as this.
So let's say WoW has 10 bots farming a particular grotto on each of its servers. Combine all instances of those bots together and throw them together -- and you have a megaserver showing of several hundred bots in one location.
Considering Zeni probably has enough people playing ESO to fill up ~50-100 servers (probably ~250k-500k players, right?) 100 bots in one area really isn't terribly surprising with the megaserver.
The original post is by someone promoting what they obviously view as a competing game (Archage.) That gives at least some context.
But, yes, the version of the game being presented here has absolutely nothing to do with the game that I'm playing. This has gone well beyond matters of taste and into flat-out distortions about what it's like to play the game.
If you roll a new toon you will encounter either no quest bugs at all or a handful of minor ones; there aren't even many gold spam messages in the starter zones any more. You won't see bots (or crowds of players) in the delves. You'll see plenty of people spread across all of the PvE zones. It's active, it's lively, and it's smooth. And you come on this forum and it's all fantasies that merge together every problem that anyone has ever had at any time with the game. It doesn't matter whether it was rare, and it doesn't matter if it was fixed.
I think the reason the botting seems worse in TESO is the mega server leads to there nearly always being a lot of people in the same area as you . Also its very linear so theres always people on the same quest as you . I've seen quite a few obvious bots in the game but even if they were not there I think it would feel overcrowded because theres too many people in the same phaze as you .I actually think I would like the game if this could be rectified in some way .
Except that you almost never run across places where they even *are*. So far there are two identified exploitable quests and both of the claims of tons of bots are directly tied to these. If you're not in these spots you wouldn't see them. Very occasionally there will be a few toons behaving oddly in the landscape zones, which could be either botters or multiboxers. This doesn't impact my game at all. With the dungeon looting loophole closed, you are almost never placed in a situation where you'd be spending time in the same place that they are. It isn't that they don't exist; it's that they don't directly impact the game that you're playing. At all.
I don't know if I play alot compared to some, but I have over 12 days played on my one toon. I have only, to my knowledge, run into two multiboxers my entire ride to VR5 currently. Now I used to run into groups of players farming end bosses in delves before the patch that nerfed them, but I was always able to get credit and loot, so no bother to me. The multiboxers I ran into were both actually nice when I whispered them, and helped me clear the group public dungeons they were each in (and let me join their group as well).
Now I am not saying that everyone has my experience, but talking to my guildies (small 10 person friend and family guild), 8 say it was the same for them, and only one states they had issues with the dungeon delve boss camping but that has been resolved.
Cheers!

Exping with bot is really good, find a place who uses bots usually their nicknames are like alskjdaskldjalkd follow them, if new one came just send group request they accept it. Just sit somewhere and come back after 5 hours.
Trust me its easiest way to level up in ESO. I'm fine with bots, because of I dont care. Game is alright and since I started to play never had any crashes or bugs like that. Of course there is tons of bots you can spot them easily usually they are using templar and hunting on same area over and over again; same path, timing is amazingly good. You know, basicly robots.

BOX is EVIL! Banish the BOX!
They find something they can loot/do quest and just pour in indefinitely.
As for those wondering where they come from:
hijacked accounts, stolen CC, maybe even keygenes. They dont really have much expenses on those.

I played last night for several hours in EP Stonefalls, and didn't even see one bot.
That scared me, I was used to seeing them everywhere. Maybe they're invisible now.
But it was fantastic! Imagine, the game working perfectly, with no bots.

Every game has bots now a days...Hell you should of seen the Bot I ran in WoW...It bloody leveled for me and everything, ran through pvp ect ect..
Anyway.. if you think Archeage won't have bots, you clearly haven't paid attention to the other Asian MMO's out there.

Well exactly. Those of us who are playing know the truth instead of listening to the moronic troll fest on here.
