I'd look for a color code system there, yellow-orange would be aggravated, Green-blue calm, red= angry.
Or it could be based on the opinion of the person typing as to which colors are easier to read mixed with white text on a gray background.
Was your goal to aggravate me? Is that why every time I try to discuss a complaint with you in this thread about complaints located in "General Discussion" you beat around the bush rather than answering my questions? Well sir that certainly is aggravating. Definitely feeling a little irked at this point. ....and out> That sounds more like the actions of a common troll than a reliable, 15k post, 5 star member. As someone that has become very familiar with your posts over the years I can honestly say you are no common troll. There there must be some deeper meaning to your wisdom. I WILL FIGURE IT OUT!!!!
Pink is excited with a hint of lavender.
Heh, that had nothing to do with you I was just being silly. I do the same thing (use yellow or red as it highlights nicely against the black backdrop.)
As for the rest, I think you're reading far too much into my replies. I was only saying people seem to expect more from questing systems than what WIldstar delivered on. Nothing more nothing less.

1) Optimization - Wildstar runs terrible and really isn't even close to looking as good as FFXIV or ESO. It's on par with WoW, and a lot of the newer areas in WoW look better.
2) Lag - Repeatedly disconnecting from PvP and adventure areas. Players in chat report lag in questing areas, although I haven't experienced this.
3) Primes - I don't understand the logic behind placing group mobs smack in the middle of solo questing areas. It's tolerable as long as there are plenty of players running around the leveling areas who join in the fight, but once the population dies down (which it will), players are going to get trolled repeatedly if they're not paying attention. I don't think they should exist at all. At the very least, place a marker above the mob's name, so that it's easier to identify the primes unless you're viewing a mob's hit points.
I've followed MMORPG.com for longer than I've posted in the forums. My complaint isn't about the people complaining in this forum. My biggest complaint is the number of people who complain about things in Wildstar and any new MMORPG for that matter. I am a part of the Wildstar forums and the #1 thing I see is complaints about how people feel they are entitled to stuff they want in the game, items, etc. and are having a difficult time obtaining them by earning it. The game came out a month ago and rather than playing for x amount of time to achieve things, people are already complaining like they should be given said things. I'm posting that complaint here because I think it is relevant to the MMORPG community since this is what I perceive is killing any new MMORPG that hits the market. I used the comparison of non-MMORPG games as an example of saying we tend to enjoy them more since we can't really complain for anyone to give us anything or change anything via patch or ticket.
I've been visiting here for a long time as well, long before my registration date actually.
I do agree with your entitlement argument. You can't expect all games to be what you personally want.
The thing is this thread was made for this very purpose, so I can't blame people for airing their complaints here.
I don't have anything really bad to say about what I saw in WS, then again I don't have very much praise to give it either, I"m pretty much indifferent toward it, it's just not what I want in a themepark MMO. I play them for questing (duoing with the wife) and not much more, it's focus is different, it's a top heavy game, made for dungeons and Raids, the two things I dislike most in my MMORPG's. I'd never ask them to change a thing.
One thing I do think that is related to this topic (based on other replies here). People need to realize that just because someone posts a complaint doesn't mean they're a troll, bitter, burnt out, or what have you.. Folks need to stop over generalizing everyone who posts their thoughts, simply because their opinions differ. There's more of that going on on this site than really anything else. It's a defense mechanism, aimed at demonizing the other side of a debate. It's not productive, and undermines any point you might make afterward.

1. Look up the word "generic" and you will find WildStar.
2. The God awful level grinding that is mind numbingly boring. Go get 8 of this, go collect 5 of that etc
3. The classes. They aren't much fun.
4. I've played WoW, this is just WoW in space with lazers instead of casting fireballs.
Compliments
1. The art style. I actually didn't mind it, and love it or hate it you can't' crucify Carbine for trying to be different!
2. The FPS and performance was good, although I have a pretty beasty RIG. No problems for me here. Avg FPS is about 45-50
I don't think the future for this game is very bright. We already had a WoW clone that came along and made end game raiding its thing, and even went above and beyond anything WS does in the way of dynamic events such as zone invasions, world invasions etc, it was called RIFT.
It didn't stop RIFT going F2P, and it had alot more going for it then WS.
I agree, also if they truly worked 7 years on a wow copy thats kinda silly. I wish i lived in the US and worked as a game designer , every year i feel those guys are getting more and more clueless. Maybe this game can survive with half a mill subs and keep going like Final fantasy but thats my must optimistic view towards it. P.S If they made this game like 5-7 years ago maybe it had a chance of big success but now days even altough its a nice polished game many people just wont be able to connect to it cuz it yells "been there done that" on every corner.
Originally posted by SomaQ My biggest complaint are the amount of people complaining. Seriously, what is killing the MMORPG genre are people who complain. If you pick up any other game that's not an MMORPG do you complain about anything? It's like a plague that spreads: one person starts complaining about something, and everyone else jumps in. There's nothing in the game I can find to complain about. I am thoroughly enjoying it!
Agreed. People love tearing stuff down and usually don't have anything positive to say or have any positive criticisms. Yes, W* is not perfect, but it is good enough and I am enjoying myself overall.
OMFG CARBINE IS RACIST AGAINST PEOPLE WHO DON'T HAVE SMARTPHONES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(yes I know smartphone isn't a race yet but need that dramatic forum ignorance)
You can download an application for your PC that is linked to whatever type of authenticator you want. No need for a smartphone. Google WinAuth. It is not a perfect solution, but it is far better than going along without a protected account.
Despite my having a smartphone I had to go with this because my version of BlackBerry OS is not supported by Google Authenticator This is something imho Carbine needs to change i.e. offering a physical authenticator. I would get one of those in a heartbeat if Carbine starts offering them.

Just wait until you see red bold. Then you know you are in the doo doo.
I am in the "it's just not for me" category, and it will never be because the things I don't like is fundamentals that won't change. Art style is one. The simple fps style combat is boring, and I absolutely hate the exxagerated use of effects. All you see is a lightshow and flashy numbers flying left and right, and out of the mist a few health bars .. If it weren't for the health bars you would probably keep fighting long after stuff is dead because you cant see whats happening. I got this feeling that gw2 also gave me that, it's cool and some nice details but after a short while combat gets dull and then turns to annoying, and then I start to wonder what is the point of this? By that time, You start to see that You are just beeing herded by the game.. The game is playing You and not the other way around.
Anyways, as I said none of this will change in Wildstar, so I don't really have anything to say other than it's not for me.
I am starting to thing that most of the people on this site don't even play the games they complain about. They just hear some one bitch then just repeat what they hear over and over without a clue. I keep reading these posts about all the quests are the same kill this collect that but that is just a bunch of bull. I have run tons of quests that require you to do many things other than just kill and collect.
I have had to fight my way through enemy territory to shut down radar towers, I have had to go behind enemy lines to release captured refugees, I have had to ride on huge water spraying robots and put out wild fires. I have had to chop my way through fallen debris and work my way down an underground tunnel to rescue trapped children, I have had to relocate burned and endangered wild life.
There are plenty of out of the norm quests in wildstar, I just seems to me that people really enjoy complaining weather they know what they are talking about or not. Sure there are quests that send you out to do battle with enemies but there are plenty out there that have you do something completely different. I get it that you don't like wildstar but at least when you complain about it know what it is your talking about and have a legitimate complaint not just repeat everything you hear without having played and stop lying about playing your not fooling anyone.

How can you blame people for picking up the content they see around them? I just don't get it. People into quests are going to try out the quests, not a hard concept to swallow. You act as though criticism of said "generic" content is wrong. It's there, it's part of what you're paying for. Criticism is part of why we're here is it not? it's also the main topic of this thread...
Why should Developers pander to obsessive-compulsive behavior when it's quite clear and plain obvious that it's not mandatory, nor recommendable to do every quest? It's quite evident that devs have provided us with options to have as much personalized and custom experience as possible, with aims to level up alts in a drastic different manner.
Not talking just about Wildstar, will leave a general idea here:
You cannot fix stupidity or mental disease. The day publishers & developers understand this and that any attempt to cater to this states of mind is plainly nihilistic we might start having more decent games.
Whoever fights monsters should see to it that in the process he does not become a monster. And if you gaze long enough into an abyss, the abyss will gaze back into you.

Absolute garbage that will kill the game if not drastically altered.
