Took a break from MMOs for a bit and when deciding to come back I was torn between giving DFUW and FFXIV another shot with all the new stuff in each game. While I prefer the skill-based twitch style and PvP focus of Darkfall, I also enjoyed a lot of the content in FFXIV and was looking forward to Frontlines (Wolves den was horrid).
I wound up deciding on FFXIV as of 2 days ago. Along with having a 400+ member FC eager for me to come back in and help lead things again, I also decided that with my son being born a few months ago and having lots of moments where I suddenly need to go afk for him, playing a full loot game like Darkfall for now probably wouldn't be a wise choice.
None. I went back to single player games (thanks Steam, Uplay, Origin and the rest!). Having a ball!
After dabbling in MMOs for a few years, I finally realized solo players are just being used. I give the MMO a bit of money, then end up hitting a brickwall in progression everytime. I tried the group/guild thing but there are too many sharts that ruin the fun.
I do plan to give Richard Garriot's game and Elite Dangerous a try...both on solo mode of course. I'm just waiting on the alpha/beta crap to clear out.
Enjoying my life as a maxed out elitist endgamer in TSW until the repopulation gets released. Then it's time to put on the diapers and feel like a complete scrub again. The most enjoyable part of MMOs is learning a game and then looking back at your journey once you have mastered it
It's sad that in most games, at some point the learning stops and you are left in a world where there is no longer a sense of discovery, mystery or danger. That is usually the point when I decide to move on.
nothing good out now, divinity is boring and eqn has no release date so my hope is now destiny going to play the beta over this week end and yes its coming to steam in march so it is now a mmo on pc.
FFXIV For my normal mmo fixins. Just so much to do in a gorgeously detailed world filled with stories, ore and characters rich with Final Fantasy mythology. It's actually going to be the second longest mmo I've subbed to since WoW. And the third overall replacing its sister mmo in my sig. Hmm might have to make a new sig to reflect that.
Defiance This is my go to mmo for that action combat fix and urge for something non fantasy based. Open world co-op, some pvp and a long list of things to check off my progression list. I live the go right at it feel without having to think about what should I do next. Great for micro play.
"Small minds talk about people, average minds talk about events, great minds talk about ideas."
Marvel heroes and World of Tanks mostly because I can jump right in get into the game w/o trying to find a group. I go back to SWTOR on the occasion when servers are down.
All my opinions are just that..opinions. If you like my opinions..coolness.If you dont like my opinion....I really dont care. Playing: ESO, WOT, Smite, and Marvel Heroes
It has the most enjoyable crafting/gathering/economy I have played since swg. It has gorgeous graphics, weather day night cycles, landscapes, sound and music. It has more meaningful non combat activities than most sandbox mmos. The updates are high quality, massive, and frequent. And I get it all for a flat monthly fee.
There are a few reasons I'm playing.. I'm having a fantastic time. I'm a big fan of Yoshi-P and really like his vision and future plans for the game. I also love that I can access every single part of the game with a single sub (even cosmetic).
I'm thinking about re-activating my sub. Haven't played this game since last October but I'm interested to try out Frontlines since that was one thing I felt the game lacked when I stopped playing.
Currently playing Old Republic after spending the past few months playing ESO. I guess I'm not big on the more fast-paced, fewer skills, combat systems that GW2 and ESO uses because after playing SWTOR this weekend it made me appreciate how well combat was done in that game even more.
FFXIV, I love the amount of content this game has to offer. I always have something to do depending on my mood., crafting, dungeons/raiding, leve quests, FATES, hunting log, sightseeing log, crafting, gathering, chocobo raising, housing. With all those things I still haven't tried PVP yet. I tried Wildstar but quit after a few days. But if I am not in the MMO feeling I play some Civ5.
I WAS playing Wildstar, but, with how the group content is, its either a snorefest (vet adventures) or edge of your seat 100% of the time 1 screw up and the group disbands (vet dungeons). I really dislike the medal system and the constant high energy feeling the game puts out. Some is fine, but being 100% focused 100% of the time, the game gets exhausting. I want to rolls alts, but the prospect of having 2 characters to do dalies on and max Elder gems and rep on is...daunting. I guess FF14's job system spolied me alot.
Ive been playing marvel heroes a bunch, still enjoy it, need to take breaks though.
Thinking about going back to FF14. My wife still playes it, and I think I should just find a new guild to try some content out with. The fact that the only 2 classes I never finished leveling Warrior and Dragoon still haunts me >_<.
I enjoyed the game alot, and it was my longest subscribed game in recent history. The dungeons were perfect and I liked the challenge the hard modes provided, punishing but the iteration time was low enough that you could jump back in (god the running back in W*)
Im VERY cautiously optimistic about the changes coming in Firefall, time will tell, but with the mess they had on their hands, well, I wish them luck.
GW2 the only way to travel, I love the lore, combat mechanics, exploration, frequently updated (every two weeks with new content) my friends play it and thats a big plus for me, well almost everything with it I love.
I also play a little Star trek online but mostly cause I love the star trek universe alot.
waiting for nothing, don't see anything that fits my gameplay style except for maybe EQ:next but then again it also seems alot like GW2 and I already have that.
I would try world of warcraft 2 if it were to come out sometime. Mostly because it would be insainly huge.
I have been floating around from MMO to MMO never sticking with one. The reason is I have yet to find a replacement for SWG and or Wow pre WOTLK. I mostly play single player games these days and see nothing down the road that even interest me in the MMO market.
Currently playing Guild Wars 2 and DayZ Standalone
Mostly been apart of the DayZ Standalone Alpha. I am super excited about what this Sandbox has the potential to grow into. Guild Wars 2 is a great game to have on your desktop though. Its nice to jump in and PvP a little bit and check out any new updates they have released.
Why? Because it has stuff for pretty much any mood I'm in. There's really hard stuff to do and really easy stuff to do but always something. Of course, the combat and style are both great but I can spend an entire afternoon hunting down new lore and stories to read. If I'm in the mood for mini games, I can just go do challenge quests I missed or visit houses with new challenges/mini dungeons. Housing is another relaxing thing to work on as well. Still haven't dived or PvP and don't really plan to.
Only games I always return and constantly play are only Wow and Swtor. Had great time with many others (last being i.e. Gw2) but then lost any interest to return for various reasons or problems (in case of Gw2 that boring and uninteresting hearts questing and dynamic "random" events, ... etc ... would still play guess with good old classic questing and leveling). ARR was disaster. Now playing Wildstar and having fun, but I'm afraid this will be my first and last sub I did, for same reason I have stopped to play TSW: silly idea to have only 1 toolbar for active spells. I can not accept and excuses why for this button mashing maddnes. Besides I like to help others, my build for pve solo is i.e. strictly dps .. then would like to help player or players in need to throw some heals because dps-in boss might not prevent them from die ... I can't. Remember ... i have dps build. Incredible annoyance 1 toolbar.

ArcheAge.
Closest to a sandbox out right now that's polished and not crap.
No MMO atm, but..
7 Days to Die is addicting and scary. Loving it.
Also..Divinity:Original Sin.

Wurm Online.
Why? Because there is a lifetime of stuff to build. My only complaint is the game is really slow.
I did play ArcheAge for a few days but its not sandbox enough for me
Please do not respond to me, even if I ask you a question, its rhetorical.

GW2 for leveling alts from time to time and WvW - not my favourite type of rvr but better than alternatives and also b2p
Wildstar - they have housing, open world with no loading screens,a functional auction house and Chua
Currently, I'm Playing 3.
Marvel heroes and World of Tanks mostly because I can jump right in get into the game w/o trying to find a group. I go back to SWTOR on the occasion when servers are down.

What I play: EVE
Why: EVE is real.
What I also play: DDO
Why: Brainless solo/small group fun. Not really an MMO, but who cares...
