Well since according to your xfire profile you've only played horizons for 2 hours in the last 7days and you more than likely never made it past the newbie area Id say that endorsement doesnt mean a whole lot
It's actually more like 5 hours now, Xfire doesn't update so fast at times But I'm gonna be playing a lot more, so I'll keep you posted If you went by what some people say though, you would believe the game to be an unplayable crashfest. That hasn't happened yet and its not only playable but sucked me right in. Just want people to know my experience instead of just year old info from disgruntled beta testers (which was a LONG time ago, beta I mean) I'm playing it NOW and those are my experiences.
I've been playing horizons since the release. All i have to say is that i wish the renewed review would have come a year from today. It's just not ready for the public to make a good impression on the majority of those who try it.
Those who still play horizons are known as mature only because we have patience, at this point it's impossible not to have patience and play the game. Most kids and possible buyers just don't have patience, especially with other games out there costing the same amount per month and levels of content that are just simply unattainable in horizons.
however one thing i keep reading by some who try it is that the game crashes so much : a little hint...get optimum online

Horizons is NOT without merit. It rocks It's the ANTIDOTE for WoW, Guild Wars, EQ2 and *fill in the name of the MMO your currently bored sick of* blues.
Besides DOZeR my friend, without Horizons, what would you fill your days posting about? You seem the most die hard Horizons fan of all, albeit a slamboi, still what would you do without it?
Oh I play EQ2 and WOW and at times I go back into my UO account and play that. All 3 of these games are 10 times better than HZ could ever be. Like I said 33 hours played when HZ was down for how long yesterday. LOL, yeah right.
Also if you are really playing the game where is the bug reports from yesterdays patch. I know there are a lot compounded from all the bugs from other patches and still from when the game went live. If you are going to tell the truth about the game you should really put everything in.

I love this game And its true, don't slam DOZeR without him I would never have even payed attention to this game. I just figured with such a soap opera around it, there has got to be something to it. And I was right This game has so much depth and it's such a relief to play after having left games like WoW and EQ2 (both games are amazing, I just got a lil bored of them).
Horizons is very immersive and atmospheric with the best crafting system ever in a game (think EQ2 with out the waiting) I'm still new at it, but I'll be playing for a long time to come and at LEAST until Vanguard comes out And the UI is original and very slick yet unencumbering. And you will meet the nicest most helpful community in any game ever!
UI is much better in WOW there is nothing you can't do with it. EQ2 is also better looking than anything HZ can show. I mean the engine is over 2 years old and can only be matched up with DAOC before they did the 3d upgrade.
Again how did you get so much time in HZ when servers were down from 5 am to 8:35 pm. I think anyone with half a brain can see you are just sproting things with no backup.
One other thing the population numbers have not gone up but in the last few weeks they have gone down quite a bit. Just use the tools to find out. There is even a hack to see anon characters.

EQ2 is a great game, but so is Horizons. They are 2 very different games, although I think Horizons is much more like EQ1 than EQ2 is, and I love the character Horizons has. It has soul my friend Also I FAOK (fell asleep on keyboard) the night before the patch sometime before 5 am and woke up around 11am sitting at my desk so thats why my xfire times might be off a bit (are you stalking me via xfire profile?) I don't study populations to the extent you do, but I have never had to ask twice to get an answer for anything, and theres always a nooby or 3 killing stuff along side me on the training island I do like that you and I sort of have this correspondance thing going. I don't blame you anymore for hating Horizons after reading the soap opera behind it: it must have really sucked and hurt peoples feelings toward the game and created a few cynics toward all games and things in life to boot.
But since the David Bowman article came out I have been playing, and I haven't had any lag issues or glitches or even a SINGLE crash. And I found a really special game with a priceless community and an experience which reminds me why I got into RPG's in the first place: the game makes me feel like a kid again, and for that my friend you get all the credit. Everything else is secondary.
Edit:I crashed 4 times on WoW on Horizons Patch day, I have NEVER crashed on Horizons yet

You act like I haven't tried the game for ages, just not true. I put HZ in the same bag as Mourning with dishonest people running it. I have stated the problems with the game a number of times now and well there is no need to keep going over them. Bottom line is there are posts still to this day that are not providing the truth with the game. I mean how many games do we know that needs to have a "Horizons Reseller Program" so can we take anything most people that play the game as truth? You know what is funny if Mourning did this reseller program majority of gamers would be up in arms. Funny how people will talk once they know they can make cash off of it.

As far as the retail reseller goes. I'm not sure how this is a bad thing. They have no retail distribution at all besides on-line. Its just marketing. A way to get the name out and more people playing. I don't see anything dishonest about it. It actually shows they have confidence in the games performance. If its as bad as you say, at this point there should be an uproar about it.
These guys have stuck with this project through some really bad times and they are still plugging on. I don't see how they are making any money at all with the subscription numbers they had. I'm talking nice but I'm not making any money.
The fact of the matter is the game works now. AND I have an ATI radeon 9200 card. I can play EQ2, WoW, Guild Wars AND Horizons with no problems at all. In fact I run on max in most games. Horizons I do need to tone down just a bit and I mean just alittle bit.
Wow an ATI 9200 card, you do know that is an older card right? Also again there are ATI issues with this game and with higher end cards, don't believe me write support. I also have stated in another post when I last played the game. Don't need to keep repeating it just for you. But I will say there is a way to play without putting in a cc. Like I said in another post there are a number of hacks for this game.

I didn't say anything about hacks or credit card requirements. You are not just answering it for me, others are reading this also. If you dont want to answer, I would think its going to weaken your position.

Understand that I have made my statements based on my most recent encounter with Horizons so your last time in game was important in my view. As I said, I agree that Horizons had problems in the past. they have however made vast improvements. Is it perfect, no. Does it at least work now? yes. Thats all I'm saying. You have many valid reasons for not liking the game. I'm not arguing that. Did it suck at launch? yes! Did they say things they shouldn't have? Yes. Did they hang in there and try to fix it? Yes. That means alot. Many of your points are a bit extream (IMHO) Haks, they exsist in all games. From DAoC to WoW, they all have problems with it. Credit Card requirements on a trial? Not the best idea in the world but they are not the first nor the last I'm sure. Graphic Card problems? Again, many games go through that. (I think WoW had an issue with some ATI cards at first also? Not sure on that)
Its a game, play it. If you like it stick with it. If you don't move, on bro. Find one you like and join the community and put something positive into it. You are obviously intellegent. I am enjoying Horizons right now. Are there better made games out there? Yes, and I've played them all. Horizons does offer some unique features that makes it stand out, if just a bit. Dragons, The Whithering Aegis, the Crafting system (although I hate any crafting lol) the plots and the ability to build on them, and the flexible class system.
Horizons hasn't survived in my book. There isn't any proof they are even making money yet. The article from DB again proves the point he has done nothing but lie about this game. I will move on once this game moves on and believe me it will happen. Sorry you hate my posts but to tell you the truth I don't ask you to read them. So I will keep telling people the truth as you will keep attempting to tell people the game is better (which it isn't). So what more needs to be said between us?

Horizons hasn't survived in my book. There isn't any proof they are even making money yet. The article from DB again proves the point he has done nothing but lie about this game. I will move on once this game moves on and believe me it will happen. Sorry you hate my posts but to tell you the truth I don't ask you to read them. So I will keep telling people the truth as you will keep attempting to tell people the game is better (which it isn't). So what more needs to be said between us?
