Not a new player -- I was one of the first lvl 100s on Life shard. Just resubbed after nearly a year away, playing other games like EQ, EQ2, CoH. So far it's great and as very different game from what it was a year ago when I stopped playing.
Originally posted by Kethrym A few years ago i purchased Horizons, day 3 of retail to be exact. I loved it. The music was gorgeous the graphics were great (at the time) and the content was........there. I had hope however. I stuck with it for 6 months. Sure there were problems that needed addressing but my friends and I had fun none the less. Real life stepped in and I had to leave for a while. After the EQ2 debacle and dabbling around with some other MMORPG's I remembered how much i loved this game. So i came back and brought my wife with me. So there we were standing in New Brommel on the Order Server. Ghost town..........*scratches head* "hello?"..................there seemed to be a lack of players. The exact opposite of what i remember. Hmmmmm. I do a search and find about 15 people in my immediate area. I picked a random player level 84 Warrior i think, and sent him a tell. I asked where everyone was. "They left for EQ2 and WoW" he says. "But those of left are probably the tightest community in any MMORPG" After a nice chat he basically tells me that the company needs to be more proactive in advertising the game and that something should be done. After a few weeks back I have to agree.
So here i "stand" before you. Is there anyone who is interested in helping the game out? Maybe a new Database for players. Stratics and Warcry are a joke. If we want the game to get better there are things we can do to help. Is anyone out there willing to help?
Count me in! I will help where I can. I am on the role playing server and play a dragon (Currently lvl 21). This game definately has promise!
Maybe its a case of 'Is the glass half-full or half-empty?'
Compared to the promises made in the beginning (and renewed by the developers and frequently broken) horizons could be described as 'The best game that never was'. This is the half-empty approach. Yes, I am very often angry about lags, bugs, crashes, broken quests, cannot deny that they happen -- often.
On the other side this game has some features that make it truly unique and fun -- one of the most important features is a truly friendly and mature player base. Take that plus dragons, crafting and the chance to change the world by opening tunnels, building lighthouses or be an architect on your own plot, this game is truly special.

What was your character name? I have been playing on Life/Chaos since about 2 weeks after launch.

I don't care for crowded games. I like Horizons because it has what i like most about mmorpgs without all the crowds
Hopefully we'll be seeing a nice population increase soon. Although I understand a dislike of crowds, getting the subscriber level up is a good thing.

Egypt Ocean (Huni'Ra Ocean)
Egypt Ocean? Damn, man, good to see you again! I haven't seen you since the battle of Aughendell on the last day of Beta!
Are you playing again? If so, and you're on Chaos, give me a shout.
Guildleader, Mithril Council, Chaos
Its and Honor KlausW,
Good to see you again, been awhile. The battle of Aug. was a Great Victory indeed.
The first Defeat of the Witherd Aegis
I'm not in the game at the present. I hit lvl-100 KNOC 3 months after release.
Stop playing after organizing and leading a raid during the mines. Freed the Satyrs.
Then that was it for me. I may return in the coming months. If or when I do I will pay
a visit to Chaos Shard. I probably will preach, teach as I originally did across the Lands.
Email me if you wish KlausW, its ancientegypt@hotmail.com

So my glass is half-full and that's that.
