Ok I am going to jump in here to clear up the Queue bitching.

First me and my wife are patrons so we bought the game before head start.

My Step daughter and my friend are F2P Players.

Our server is Inoch.  My Wife and I had a 1 and 3 person queue in front of us last night around 8pm ET  At the same time I logged in my Step Daughter's F2P account on Inoch and she had a 3K+ queue in front of her and never got on in over 2 hours.  My friend logged on before we did about 30 minutes and was 2500+ in queue.  He also never got on in 2 hours.

The people that were bitching in Faction chat about the queue last night were ALL F2P Players.  Many of whom talked about how proud they were about never paying for a game.  No saying all but some.  Well these are the same players Bitching that they had 2 hour+ Queues.

So if people want Patron status logins you either pay for the privilege of faster Queues OR  STFU.  You dont get the same rights as a person who spent the money and thinking you should get the same rights without spending ANY money you might as well uses the door.  If you are F2P Shut up try out the game and see if you like it, after some time if you do invest in your entertainment and you will be fine.  If you dont want to pay up or spend a dime tough shit.

I'm 46 years old, have a family, work full time, take care of many things....logged in and saw a long que, I shut the game down 5 seconds later.  No time to mess around with this, or spend my hard earned money looking at a que.  Sorry.

all is quiet over on the EU side....when i first logged on last night there was ZERO q's on any of the servers....went to NA and all were q'ed lol

The queues on Kyprosa EU started today at 10am in the morning according to a guild mate of mine.

In the afternoon they were at 2-3 hours.

Right now im sitting in queue for 3 hours and got from position 3100 to 1550. So one could estimate a waiting time of about 6 hours.

Ive done a lot of starts in the last 10 years, but this is hell!

    Hodor!

it's useless to create more servers, all those new server will be dead and empty in few weeks.

Better keep their servers active and allow more people to play on their servers.

I'm sure Trion doesn't want to make the same mistake of so many others and make too many servers that they will later have to make "mega servers".

lol, I love launch days.  The cries of foul over server issues; The gnashing of teeth over queues;  The general complaining of all things launch. Happens every launch and I love it.  Let me order my pizza, and wait in the queue.  I'll play FFXIV while I'm waiting.  Let me copy this response, so that I can keep up with all of the other threads following launch day.

Well if you have a family you should be more than familiar with the term "that's the way the cookie crumbles". As it's something you have to explain to children on a regular basis. "that's just the way things are"...

I love seeing the queues...means the servers are brimming with folks.  And since we all define success based on server populations, we've clearly got a winner here!

Ok, maybe its a good idea but what about:

    - Kick afks, im sure the servers have alot afkers. 10min without activity or loop activity = out.

    - make patron status working to all.

    - stop putting f2p players as a patron.

    - <insert any other issue here>

There are alot of issues atm around this launch, is not only to many ppl trying to enter game.

I will stay in AA for a long time, allready know that, but this launch are far from be ok.

Why do game developers and you the naive gamer always say "We weren't expecting this many people".  If I had a penny for everytime a dev said that.  do you really expect a quiet and low key launch for a new hyped game?  Any game?

its the worst excuse out there.  Makes you look dumb.

Yeah, in normal themepark games these shenanigans are all quite amusing, because in games like that it doesn't make the slightest difference whether you get to start on launch day or 2 weeks later. All the content is still waiting for you no matter when you get around to it.

But in AA that's not quite the same picture. Land availability is limited, so if that is important to you, starting a few days or a week after launch could have a serious impact on your enjoyment of the game. Missing out on the initial "window of opportunity" could mean having to wait a month or two before that content becomes accessible to you. THAT's why the gnashing of teeth is so much louder around the AA launch...

You can get complaints the first 2 weeks, or you can get them from week 3 and onwards...

Whilst I agree with the thought and yes that is true in some cases. Here is does not apply. Having THOUSANDS of people in queue is just plain bad. In fact it is terrible. I can see 200 or 300, but 4 or 5 THOUSAND?

Welp, been in the Eanna queue for 3 hours now, only 260 (out of the original 4085) still ahead of me !

Maybe I'll get to play 30mins or so before bedtime ?

Sucks now but once the usual mmo hoppers are gone it will be fine.
Thing is that server mergers are going to be a disaster if it needs to happen.
Better have queue no then a death server in 2 weeks.

They can't do server mergers due to the way in which land is handled. You'd essentially lose everything land-wise if they did. Which is probably why they aren't looking to add too many servers... better to have a queue than strip players of their lands and say, oh well, start over.

Land acquisition being and important part of the game means no mega servers and too many servers are a death knell.

think I will wait a month or two before I try this game.

When I said i had "time", i meant virtual time, i got no RL "time" for you.

Adding more servers is impracticable due game design

This is not a standard themepark where you can merge servers easily if they are dying.

I have patron status and am forced to wait 4-5 hours to log in. This is insane. I paid to play but I cant. Its ridiculous, Trion will ruin a very good game by doing this.

And when i eventually log in, I pray not to disconnect because the queues reset and you get another 5 hours.

Because of this I lost my land first day (yes land disappeared within the first 24 hours) and now I cant even level my char and hope for some farming on public farms or maybe do the trade runs and get the pumpkin scarecrow.

Is it so hard not to fail ???? I mean we were hoping for a good game, and archeage finally is the mmo I ever wanted and instead of enjoying it, I have to wait all day until am disappointed and quit.

Is it that hard to open lots of new servers and add a free migration ? is it so hard to increase server cap ? is it so hard not to let new people enter on over-populated servers ???

Seriously, why every mmo has to fail on something ??? I do not wonder now why WoW after so many years still dominates the mmo market.

Archeage rocks, trion failed. Any excuse or comment like "ppl whine when there are lots of servers and whine also when there are few" is not valid. Not even a trion employee would ever dare to say that.

Funny thing is, that I don't consider myself as a casual player that logs-in now and then and wants no queues. I logged in archeage from the first second it launched. Then dc's started and queues. All my land-grab plan failed. Failed on traderuns, Failed on housing, crafting, guild activities..... and its not my fault. Am still 30 level and not been able to log-in since Monday night.

Worse thing is i already paid 150 euro.

This is why i support overflow servers and megaservers.  It's one thing GW2 did right, even if there were some downsides to it.

Is not that hard if it really necessary. Ofc,atm i imagine Trion will do it in wrong way.

If the problem is land, well, if we have 2 servers with low population means there will be alot of land available and merge, if well done, is not the end of the world.

They could open "Mirror servers" with annoucement: "this servers will be merged in to X server in 2 months if population drop and all chars will have a free transfere as soon the others population alow it". At least i could lvl up my char  :)

Nevermind, all this crazy queue is put me crazy  :)

Really? One word only - marketing   The beta servers are made to acquire exactly that info(number of potential players) not for winning money from patron status. That's why good MMO's have weeks of open beta.  With AA we have 2 options :

Trion are retards who cant do their job. ( i am a fan of this one)

Or they do the math and made servers for payed acc's + a little extra for f2p , hopping that only people that pay their monthly sub will remain in game.

Also what's that with the server mergers! Sooner or later one of the servers will lose a lot of its population. With all the rage going on about that game ,who can say when this thing will happen? What about in a month maybe ,than what?

And really look at the numbers, those are not 300-400 ppl queues , they are 4000 +. So what... haw long to wait for 4000 ppl to decide that they will not play this game? A month?
