My thoughts, too. No thanks. What I enjoyed about WoW is now gone from the game.

Personally the only modern MMORPG trend that annoys me is the idea that MMOs need to be designed in a way to attract people who don't actually like MMOs. Which to me makes about as much sense as someone trying to figure out a way to get vegetarians to eat at their steakhouse. - FARGIN_WAR
Let's put it this way : if you gave me a free lifetime sub to WoW, I still wouldn't play it... my time is more valuable than the subscription, so I really handpick the games I play and I don't stick to one game for too long.
I don't think I'd ever pay that for any game. The chances you won't feel the same about a game a year later are much too great for that.
My SWTOR referral link for those wanting to give the game a try. (Newbies get a welcome package while returning players get a few account upgrades to help with their preferred status.)
Given what they promised during WoW's development, and the fact that they did a complete 180 with the very first expansion and then continued to fuck it up even worse, no.
If it was still as good as vanilla WoW? No, it was good but it wasn't that good.
At a conservative estimate (and taking account of future inflation) that is circa 60-something months.
In WOW vanilla I played circa 6 months, and another 4 in TBC, then maybe 4 or so months trying out other expansions, so that would leave me pretty much 4 more years of solidly playing the game to break even.
Why? The idea of a lifetime sub is to show loyalty and save money in the long run. For most people what you're proposing would entail paying far more than $15 a month and taking a huge risk on top of it. The consumer is getting literally no benefit from this.
A lifetime sub should cost about the equivalent of two years of game time. There's a good chance if you like the game you will play about two years at least but always the risk that if you end up not liking it you'll get screwed by that . So it's like the company saying "we really think you're going to like this game so we'll give you the chance to save money in the long run if you trust us up front."

Excellent point! And one reason I never get "lifetime" anything in MMO game. The games change too radically and too quickly for my tastes.

LOL I dont think wow is worth any money at all... but then we all enjoy different things so I guess some people would be willing to do so.
I wont play WoW.
End of story.
P.s.: Okay, unless of course somebody offered me an outrageous wage to do so, or forced me at gunpoint, or something.
During classic or TBC? hell yes.
Maybe even during wotlk, but not anymore.
I still think WoW is one of the greatest MMO's I've ever played, but It's just become stale, It's constantly more of the same every expansion.
I luv WOW, but
NO
Price at $1000 is weired

No, I don't think I would put down $1,000.
Why would I? There are soo many other great games out there. WoW only has 1 thing that it does best and thats nostalgia.
Every other aspect of the game, some other game can do better.
Wildstar, The Secret World, Rift > WoW
So no, WoW is dead to me :P but the fond memories will live on
