No no. In most other games people attack the points in which he left, not the person behind the post. No need to be rude to someone else ever. What I mean by the points in which he left like if he said the pvp was bad, Id say the pvp was excellent. Stuff like that. But I guess since NO ONE has done that here, then the game must be as bad as he the OP stated.

Actually your wrong . Plenty of people in many game forums do not attack the points whatsoever. Mainly cause they dont need to defend the game in which they play to someone who no longer wishes to play. A simple....................

Yes, the WoW community is horrid. As seen here by numerous posters. WoW = B-Net kiddies.
_____________________________________________________________________________________ Science has never proven that what we see in front of us is in fact real.
Actualy, I find that alot of people say they are leaving the game to try and catch maybe one last person who might convince them on staying but instead you insist on "not letting the door knock them on the way out".
I will not say that WoW is any better or any worse than any other MMO on the market (hell it's impossible since it embodies about 75% of everything ever put into an MMO) but, the sheer number of people that play and the popularity that it is attracting world wide is morphing the MMO market.
These continous comments about people "trolling" and telling them to stfu is so mundane and inappropriate that I do not even know why they are allowed on boards. Listen, WoW is game, just like any other on the market (yes, it is much more attractive than most other titles available) and IMO is a great introductory game to the world of MMO's, however, it remains a game which people are allowed to critize if they feel the urge to.
I have many friends who play WoW and I don't condemn them for their choice, it's a great game to play for some but, you have to realize that like everything else in life, it will not get praises from everyone. Conversating with my friends and others who play/have played the title (I only played during the beta) has left me with a very clear view of the game. It has problems ... well, so does every other game ever made lol, big deal, some people will get annoyed and flustered and let others know, deal with it, stop whining about other people being unsatisfied with something. Anyways, what I was getting to before my sprout of A.D.D. (excuses are great, aren't they ?) , the main problem with this game is not the game itself but the people that play it.
Now, I'm not saying that everyone who plays this game deserves to get shot, no... absolutely not. What many people don't seem to realize is that you only need 1 person, 1 arrogant, sniveling annoying person to ruin a gaming experience for hundreds of people. (Yes, I've seen this happen). And ... with the comments I keep seeing on the boards (not just this topic but pretty much any topic that tries to give "negative criticism" to the game) I can't believe the sheer number of pricks there are.
Everyone is entitled to an opinion, if someone elses devirges from your own, let them know why you disagree, it is called an argument and does not involve words such as "troll" and "flaming". So please, when a person is down and looking for support, don't kick them into the mud, try and understand that hey ... maybe someone is actualy in a conundrom, maybe they really like this game but at the same time aren't fully satisfied by the experience they are getting out of it and are trying to reach out to see if others feel the same way. With WoW, this is especialy occurant since alot of us MMO veterans put ALOT of value on the release of WoW (best beta I have ever seen) unfortunately, like most other game companies, they promised WAY too much than they could actualy offer and the hardcore and veteran players who don't necessarily want to convert to full out PvP were left in the dark and now ... you have posts like these.
Anyways, I don't really except most people to actualy read this whole thing, it will probably end up being flamed in about 5 minutes, but I really don't care lol, just like to say (for the people who actualy take the time to read other peoples words) that this game has alot of potential and is still just in its infantcy. Yeah, there might be some major issues (mostly revolving around the community) but it is still fun to play, just take it a little easier and try and moderate your experience to get the most out of it.
P.S. My friends who play this game pretty much do nothing but forge/trade and then sell gold on e-bay and are making a pretty buck out of it (lol). Gotta love the world of mass commercialism

I've bought Dawn of War 40k, Guild Wars, Sid Meir's Pirates, Half-Life 2, Doom 3 for the PC, God of War for PS2, and Forza Motorsport for XBox in the last couple of months. I'm still playing WoW a lot more than those other games. It's all personal preference. I don't mind spending money on games, if you want the most bang for your buck get a fps or rts game that allows you to play online for free.

I have no regrets when it comes to flaming and mocking those who are completely inane minded. Sorry, but as immature as it might be, the peeps who are flaming the OP for trashing their game are basically doing what one would expect them to do in mocking and flaming him. The people who are saying the community sucks because they're defending their game, however...
I left because I didn't like the title of the game...... Firemagic, do my eyes decieve me? You who proclaimed WoW to be "the best mmorpg ever" (I havent forgotten) are now leaving it? Astonishing. Just kidding. I had to take a shot at you though. I just never thought I'd hear such a thing.

No, I'm not leaving. As I said, I just don't play as much as I did, and I'm on the lookout for a more fulfilling gaming experience. None of the new wave of MMOs look like they'll be worth more than a glance, so Oblivion will probably be it.
For me the game is, and always was about PvP. Blizzard said they'd encourage fair play and "honor", and they've failed to do so. Whenever anyone brings up the subject on their forums (more and more frequently lately) they completely ignore the thread, so I can't even hold out on the hope that they might plan to implement a better system.
Battlegrounds will go some way towards addressing the problem but right now I see it as too little, too late. Who knows, maybe it'll completely fix the PvP dynamic and I'll fall in love with WoW once again.
And I'm glad you "haven't forgotten" what I said, because I stand by it. WoW is easily the best MMORPG ever IMO - the PvE content is unmatched - but as a complete product it's nowhere near reaching its potential.
The ignorance here pretty much sums up the community in WOW. Not only does it shows the immaturity of the audience but the general MMO pedigree that most of the people playing have.
Why give a reason for quitting you ask?
Then why give a reason for playing? Or discuss anything for that matter?
And the "Can I have your stuff" replies is by far the most destructive occurence for any of these games, trolling and flaming a distant second.
Who cares? Well Blizzard for starters, people not yet playing, or people playing that are having the same feelings.
YOU care, you replied and invested both effort and time in doing so, you care a LOT even.
I love the game, but many of the replies here just reinforces my disslike of the community and the immature brats it consists of. Not only did you people by all probability make him leave, you kick him on the way out making sure he never returns. I can guarantee you that if Blizzard could choose wich player that stayed they would pick the OP over any of the "can I have your stuff" people 10 times out of 10.
In a couple of years if you are still around these games you can look back on these posts and wonder what the hell you were thinking. Probably making a post to someone not unlike this one.

No, not really. Why? Because I've played EQLive for enough time to grow to love it then grow to hate it, but in the four years since I've quit playing never once have I jumped over to the EQ forums and say "I quit playing EQ because it sucks." Doing that, knowing full well that it's only going to get me flamed and ridiculed. The dude basically says that he's getting tired of all the children in the WoW community and their immaturity, but then he turns around and posts a message to the forum saying "You all suck and so does the game", and lo and behold people flame him for it, as fully expected. But the most ludicrous thing I see is the other side who step in and say "This is so like the WoW community to act so immature for flaming this guy".
That's kind of like blaming all of the bees when some idiot gets stung when he takes a swing at the beehive. It's just stupid.
Obviously this aint exclusive for WOW, it is just more common.
I am just pointing out that kicking this guy not only make you as bad as him, but worse.
Much like whiners who whine about whiners are just as bad or worse then the actual whiners, hehe.
Making my post that whines about people who whine about whiners even worse but I just hate to see people quit for whatever reason and telling him good riddance would be both ignorant and stupid unless I had an actual intent to hurt the game and its community. It is the fact that people do it thinking they are indeed gods gift to said game when in actuality they are hurting it even more.
Be assured that blizzard even with their million of customers care about every single person leaving and if they could they would sit down and listen to all of them and taking careful notes.
Ah well, much like the bee analogy but instead of not blaming the idiot who kicked you are the kicker getting pissed and blame the bees. Both are stupid only one more so.

Ico Oh, cruel fate, to be thusly boned. Ask not for whom the bone bones. It bones for thee.
Well, I have been in the beta, and am still playing the game quite actively. I am playing on a roleplay-server, so I can find a kind of balance between roleplay, PvP and some general money "farming". I took a break for about a month, but felt better about the game when I came back. WoW has more than just grinding and PvP, if you just find, and make use of it. At least you have had a great time those few months.
And yes, the people are right about the other MMORPGs. There are no other good ones on the market right now, so that is another thing that binds me to WoW.

is WoW worth the paying to play. FOr the same price after a year i could get xbox and 2 game.................. is it really worth more than that
