GREAT.
You failed to mentioned its Star Citizen 39 ... the groundbreaking successor to a long series of successful games over the last roughly two centuries.
Now with Direct Neural Inteface and your first ship in game comes with its real life version as a courtesy gift, powered by an EM drive of course.
As we do not have currency anymore, you can get as many in game ships as you want. The 2170 dollar is of course the ever faithful "SolarSystemBook" "I-Like-Button", which means 20 % of the population are Star Citizen fans these days.

Star Citizen 39 was canceled in 2101 due to a very important bug, which made the CR's bank accounts to send back the money to the Star Citizens !
As far as I know , the most groundbreaking success ever, for SC, dates back in 2055. The known version of that time, was SC 4750/H2/C20/ABC , which managed to get out of Closed Beta to AOB ( Almost Open Beta ) . But , as previous versions , the main bugs appeared. Also a new and the most important one was this curious case of the bug #788111_H7767K . The bug itself, made players believe that they own every piece of the ships they bought. In reality however , it was not the case! CR's company made an announcement to all players with the following message "your deeds shall all be remembered" ! And then case close.
After 1 year they started "working" on a new SC, this time more powerful then ever before and accepting new donations !
And they kinda keep that "track" since then.
But hey! Words says that we shall get the new version of SC any moment! They also gave an estimated release : Soonish - Anytime between 2170 & 2200 .

PS: Last two weeks were very good crowdfunding weeks me seems, as were the last two months. November will even surpass a good October (which clocked in at 5.2 M$)
I think November 2016 was an all time high in the Star Citizen crowdfunding campaign with 7,751,061$. And the last four months amounted to approx. + 20 M$
Star Citizen made more than 38 M$ in the last year. (1 DEC 2015 99,512,058 --> 1 DEC 2016 137,684,168 = 38,172,110 $)
Given the old rule of thumb in the gaming industry (cost is 10.000 $ per month per person for EVERYTHING related to developing a game) that amounts to 3817 man months. Enough to sustain a team of 318 persons for a year. Compare that to a current officially reported team size of 325 in four studios (status November 2016). I just realised that this company has mastered the cash shop. I mean
which other company managed to run a cash shop this successfully for years
before a game even was released? I mean their whole company runs on it! Respect!
144 million? Are you people seriously insane? I imagine the employees are having one heckuva party with all this money....Im still waiting for the announcement that they have bought their own island.
