I'm a Wuxia fanatic so I will be there Day one. Gon Kung Fu master? Yup

Watch the anime if you haven't already, its not half bad.

Any mmo worth its salt should be like a good prostitute when it comes to its game world- One hell of a faker, and a damn good shaker!

For me it didn't feel grindy till end-game. I believe everyone should give this game a try, it's a very great experience.

Looking at the reaction on here, obviously some people do :-)

No need to get too hot and bothered about things. Some people will like the game and make it their mmo home, others will find it's not for them.

It looks like there's quite a few other games coming through. I'll try most of them and see what floats the boat.

Edit: By the way, can we change the title of the thread to .......Coming to America and the EU :-)

You guys are starting to suck at advertising enticing games, you leaked information about  a game that has barely hit northern shores months before anything even happened, and yet here you are again doing the same thing. This game lost its hype because you posted posts about it portraying that this game would be worth playing. It wont be because you ruined its repore.

I'm sure B&S will be the most popular MMO in the western market... for about 6 weeks after launch. Then it will sink into obscurity and never be talked about again.

Strongly eastern-themed games do not do well in the west. And eastern monetization methods even less so.

After so many months playing in CN and JP servers with 300ms, i'm really happy that this title is finally coming to EU/US, was expecting some kind of announcement soon about B&S but not the kind of announcement that tells you the game will be released this year. This is good news!

Really looking forward to this, I recently tried to play on the Japanese server but couldn't get it to work, so the news it is finally coming out is a pleasant surprise. I am not a fan of wuxia in particular, but I like the anime-style aesthetic, visceral combat, fantastic looking creatures, and possibly interesting pvp.

I wish these games would hit the west sooner though, I don't understand why they don't just release big games like this in Asia and the West at the same time. Or possibly with a one year delay to get it localized (which should basically just=translated, I think the other elements of localization are over-rated unless there are changes needed for legal reasons).

Thank god, I can't stand playing on the RU server :)

Based on your experience, how was it? Worth it or not? Was it grindy?

I can share my own experience here. Worth buying/playing, not worth subbing IMO. To me it felt WAY more fun, less grindy and more true action than TERA but still asian task collector grindy. That was my experience with the RU version. Cant wait for the NA version (if it doesnt have a mandatory sub as i didnt find anything outstanding to justify it)

I'll play again, up until the point when legendaries get released, then I'll quit again.

Legendaries are garbage, you can grind like it's old school Maplestory, or you can buy gold and circumvent the grind like everyone else.

GOLD BASED LEGENDARIES, only Koreans can imagine such hell to be a paradise.

I had a look at this on RU server with english patch.

It's as unisnpired as it gets. Another game nobody asked for.

Who is funding all these developers and their unispired shitgames? I seriously don't get it.

    This is madness!

Best game I've played in a while (tried on CH), the combat is amazing.

To be frank all the people whining that this is a couple years too late. Go sit your butts in the corner and  let the rest of us enjoy a game worth playing. This by far is the least grindy game I ever played and not to mention. It wasn't a total CLUSTERF**K like many weatern mmos. Or should I say standard mmo. When it comes to skill trays haw many skill do you need cluttering up the screen. I mad a character in B&S and went from 1-20 in a couple hours.  where most western mmo it to me two to three days. Not because the game was hard but the content and the combat was boring as hell.  This is the type of game i like where the combat keeps me entertained and the gear has no bearing on your stats what so ever. Wildstar would have been great but it plays just like world of warcraft with Asian crafting mechanics.  So for all of you hating, sit ya ass in the corner and shut up.

*Note: I've poured at least 400-500 hours into Blade & Soul across the various game versions - the Russian version being the last.  - I will say that i look forward to coming back to Blade & Soul; because the latency for all the versions i had played were unacceptable (The Russian version having the worst) - I live in New York so it can't really be helped.

Being able to experience the combat without animation delay is going to be a real treat.

I think what worries me the most at this point is Hyung-Tae Kim's departure of NCsoft last year; as Blade & Soul is essentially: "his baby" and though the entire group of TEAM Bloodlust is very talented, i worry for this games future without his core influence being present.

Now of course the neat thing about the Unreal Engine 3, and the modded build TEAM Bloodlust uses, -is that it's quite "creator friendly" -so the possibility of NC West creating their own content specific for the NA/EU versions is not out of the question.  It just comes down to whether they want to do that, or would be allowed to do that.

I know that there are people out there who have a very good idea of what they want to play these days, and it's okey for people to be fickle or apprehensive about an upcoming Eastern game title, i don't blame them for feeling that way about Blade & Soul either.

But in truth, and i think i speak for at least a small minority of the B&S fans, that what drew me personally into the world of Blade & Soul is it's story-  it's rich and often very moving story.

There are many other aspects of the game title that stands out for me, but it's a rather long list; but what i can say, is that when describing Blade & Soul; the word "Generic" is NOT the first word that comes to mind, and far from it.

I know there are many people out there with a genuine opinion to oppose that idea, and that's fine; they have a right to feel that way.

However- if i were to put the large assortment of Korean MMOrpg's on a table, and then arrange them all side-by-side so that they could be compared; -Blade & Soul would easily be distinctive and look to be more original and less-manufactured version the other game titles on the table.

This paradox we have when you watch anime or read manga /manwha where sometimes the stories are so very dark and sad and full of brilliant ideas that are encapsulated in this package where you see little girls dressed in frocks doing battle is sometimes to many very jarring and incongruous. But if you gave the stories half a chance you will be completely blown over by the depth and story telling they manage to deliver. Some of the very best anime I have watched or manga I read surpasses many other medium I have read or watched. In fact many good writers take their inspiration from them.

Problem is always the package the way it is delivered the harem reverse or otherwise the fan service all this makes it hard for people to enjoy a good story or even give it a good shot.  Take Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magika for instance one glance by many and you will just brand it as stereotype as the typical loli running about in barely there skirts but the story is so dark so very dark. I wish people would see past their immediate impression of things foreign to what they are used to.

You should always give things a good shake before you wash your hands off them.

I agree some anime/manga have amazing stories, its totally different from the super-hero cartoons for kids in the West or the Disney-style anime. Some people in the West seem to just equate anime with cartoons and then get riled up about the sexuality and violence/horror themes in (some) anime, but have no issue with such content in film/books.

I also love how manga/anime are so soaked in culture, some of my favourites are all about Japanese ghosts and mythology; and even non-fantasy type work is just so purely Japanese, so divorced from Western culture and all is baggage, it is just awesome to take in.

I hope you can keep the original voices ands just have the subtitles.

    Cant wait for this game

Also, cant stand playing on the russian server, the names dont match the "upgrade" requeried items name, but its just tricky. korean sounds. and still lv 45cap T.T atleast added the legendery chi item, letting to learn the last skill in the skill tree. But its fun. Can assure. Even if its 2012 game. Its WAY MORE evolved then any mmos that starting from 2014 ^^ Action - one of the kind. Skills - amazing. Landscape - facinating. Quests - easy, and good money source too. 10 out of 10 for this one xD played TERA before B&S , and i dont miss tera at all. can say forgot about it :D

Unfortunately this is still only at the "being looked into" stage with NA / EU version, i.e. NC (well, some people at NC) are aware that people want it but haven't sorted out whatever technical / legal niceties are involved to make it happen. If it's not supported officially there will most likely be mods for it shortly after the Western CBT goes live.
