    So you can walk and talk. Awesome. But how will this later on play a role in the game?

    --> ArcCorp is primarily a place to shop for weapons, ships and clothing. And to interact with other captains. Have a drink and a talk.

    --> Currently in Alpha people have started to race with buggies through ArcCorp - an impromptu crash car derby event.

    --> How to find things: https://robertsspaceindustries.com/comm-link/transmission/14466-MobiGlas

    Surely there must be some list of actual features for this game?

    ---> https://robertsspaceindustries.com/about-the-game/spaceflight

    What is the game going to be?

    --> http://starcitizen.wikia.com/wiki/Frequently_Asked_Questions

    --> In general you will find MANY answers at the fan made Star Citizen WIKI

    --> http://starcitizen.wikia.com/wiki/Main_Page

    How will these modules connect later on?

    --> Squadron 42 Solo Game - your voluntary military service tour of duty to gain Citizenship

    --> Arena Commander & Starmarine - simpod training environments for space and ground combat where you can die as often as you want and learn from it   (because the PU has a kind of permadeath )

    --> SATA Ball and Ship Racing - kind zero-g sports event and competitive ship racing circuit e-sport

    --> Persistent Universe Multiplayer Game - you enter it after your military tour of duty (after you finished SQ42 at least once). There you can pick a number of possible careers - you decide

    Will Star Citizen be a MMO with character progression?

    --> Not a classic MMO. Its a multiplayer game with heavy use of instances

    -->

    Will there be crafting?

    --> Yes.

    Will there be trade?

    --> Yes. https://robertsspaceindustries.com/comm-link/engineering/14677-Cargo-Interaction

    Will there be professions?

    --> Yes. Various. Any combination you can think of.

    --> Examples:

    --> Salvager:  https://robertsspaceindustries.com/comm-link/engineering/15062-Ship-Repair-And-Maintenance

    --> https://robertsspaceindustries.com/comm-link/transmission/14568-The-New-Damage-System

    --> Miner :   https://robertsspaceindustries.com/comm-link/transmission/14522-Star-Citizen-Careers-Mining

    --> Passenger Transport:  https://robertsspaceindustries.com/comm-link/transmission/14804-Design-Civilian-Passenger-Transport

    --> Doctor:  https://robertsspaceindustries.com/comm-link/engineering/14318-Healing-Your-Spacemen

    -->

    Will you be able to discover a new planet,

    --> Yes.

    --> http://starcitizen.wikia.com/wiki/Jump_point_(gameplay_mechanic)

    -->

    settle there, or build your base?

    --> Planned, but not for the initial release. Conquerable "Gold Horizon" stations (as being used in the Star Marine simpod module) will be used first

    -->

    --> Let me know what part specifically interests you .. fighting, trading, exploring, lore.... there is much more about each topic .... but you can also easily find it via Google or Youtube.

    That is a very impressive list of features they aim at. It sounds awesome on paper. Just too bad about those disconnected modules. Current alpha also seems very far away from that game that makes up that list.
    So yeah, nice idea for a game, great looking assets so far. But I have my doubts that this will be done according to the feature list in the coming year or two.

    For now I am just going to play other games and I might check back in the future.

    Man, that feature creep is real! :open_mouth:

    As I have always said, this will either be the best space game ever, or the biggest flop in the game industry.

    Can you highlight for us please the answer to the question :  When will be the game ready to be launched ? It was suposed to be ready in 2014 with the promise of returning the money if delayed more than 18 months or so

    It was suppose to launch then, but plans changed. CGI offered those people refunds who didn't like said changes. I remember a while ago a link was posted talking about 2000 people choose to get a refund when the original TOS was changed, even so people were still aloud to refund for the past 3 years. Imho I think asking about the 2014 launch now is not a great question anymore, people were told why the changes were made and they had the opportunity to get a refund for years if they didn't like it.

    If people want to ask some serious questions, jump on the free fly week then comeback and give a low down on what you think. Imho recycling old answered questions is not gonna help the argument

    Some people were estimating a release date of 2020 for SC and it made sense the way they explained it.  How much of Alpha still needs to be done then a Beta test period of a year or two, also SQ42 Alpha and beta testing. Plus AC, SM, and SQ42 part 2 and 3.

    actually its not a serious question and it barely has much side effects that affect anyone.

    However, there are people who enjoy the drama of notifications, Q/A, debates and flame wars far more then any game

    So ... when the developers answering questions here in these forum sections spend 10 min each day answering forum questions and spend another 11 hours 50 min every day developing the game .... that is too much talking and not enough building for you?

    If they managed to flesh out the first solar system, Crusader by the end of the year, this matter will depend with how many both gameplay systems and solar systems they will set the version "1.0" to have.

    1.0 means little to SC on the matters neither it will have everything on it neither will the game stop development by it (as any MMO).

    There's 2 ways to go on it:
    1. A very long Alpha/Beta period to implement and flesh out everything they wanted to do with the game up until they can call it "finished and released".
    2. A stable and polished release of the fundamental of the game sooner with part of the scope and goals set as content updates post 1.0.

    I myself prefer the 2nd, imagine they release with 20 solar systems, could give them a good type of content update to make post-launch, introducing new systems on updates with new missions, stories, areas to explore and such to live up to the promised stretch goal of 100.

    The outcome i'd really not want to see is if they feel pressure to live up to deliver 100 systems by 1.0 and just throw them in to call the stretch goal done with.

    Talking and answering questions is a good thing. Of the many games i've backed over the years SC features by far the most transparent development process. No other funded project presents its backers with a monthly report where each and every studio / team talks in detail about what they have worked on during that month.

    What other funded project got 100mil from backers and then repeatedly release excuses as to why they haven't delivered?

    This is unique to one company and if it was my company I wouldn't be all the proud of the accomplishment.

    Subnautica development is way more transparent.

    Also there's a reason why SC needs to keep it's backers up to date with the ships they've bought.
    To show some kind of forward movement for their development and avoid refunds from people who have been waiting years to fly the ships they've bought.

    How else are they going to sell ships in the next concept sale?

    what I am trying to say is that I am willing to bet you a pay check that there are fans and critics that will play the 'pre-game hype' more hours then they will ever play the game.

    and this pattern happens alot. I bet No Man Sky is another one. I call those 'hype simulators' or 'Q/A simulators' of 'dev communication simulators'

    personally I like how Valve did VR. They didnt talk about it at all then out of the blue BAM here, done, oh and its the best one as well.

    Ironically out games like this one the one that talks the least about it is also the one that has the most features actually in retail right now as we speak.

    Lots of studios have reasonably open development, Frontier published weekly updates detailing development processes, Camelot Unchained do loads of in-depth updates and streams, Subnautica do some exceptionally open development.

    It's really not a big deal.

    there is a huge difference between these three items

    -no 'dev communication' just SURPRISE its out
    -published weekly updates detailing development processes
    -'communicating', talking about, marketing, video showing, discussion paneling more than actually producing code.

    What do you mean by haven't delivered? or what hasn't been delivered (though the game is in development) and the excuses been made?
