This game certainly seems to have the most passionate people...There seems to be a ton of fanbois and a ton of haters.
It doesn't help that the game's gameplay is so utterly boring.
Posting about it is the most exciting part for all parties involved.

Maybe 3.0 will change that once it releases eventually.. or not.

Nothing from the SC fans in this thread about Erillion falsely stating SC was in a top 100 list.

    What a surprise.

Sorry, I only caught up with the discussion on the insults, baiting, and overall aggressivity part and had to go back to understand whatdahell happened.

But yeah, it's not that unreasonable to read that cover and take it SC is in the top 100, though after poking the contents, it's clearly a feature outside that top. Bad @Erillion! Bad!

Thank goodness.  Regardless of one's position on Star Citizen or the current quality of its alpha or prospects, it would be utterly moronic to count it as a "Game of 2017".

This sounds like you have the magazine now. I only saw the picture of the cover. So it is not amongst the 100 but a normal article in the magazine. I stand corrected.

As i said upthread - when the magazine comes out, we will see. I edited the post with the cover picture.

    Have fun

Would it? WOULD IT? Take a look back and the MMORPG.com Most Wanted of 2017 and then talk to me about how moronic. If you think that any fan opinion is based in reality then hopefully that article will help to re-align your expectations with the current reality of the market. Also, it's funnier because the text says
"If the game's not included, it's because we don't think it stands a chance at launching or hitting early access this calendar year (maybe next year, Star Citizen)."

Should Star Citizen hit alpha with average quality, it would effectively be further ahead than most of the MMOs on this list. Also, I think it would be a great indicator of progress on the project since it's obvious that the staff here didn't think it had any chance of releasing anything in 2017, right? So even if it delayed until late 2017 that would be something that wasn't anticipated.

What's "moronic" is the importance people give to these "best 100 x", as if they were not able to make an opinion of their own.

I never said Moron-acy wasn't widespread.  In fact, as you can see, it's a serious widespread epidemic so I'm glad that PC Gamer ended up not being a part of it (at least, this time, and only in regards to how its top 100 games for 2017 didn't include Star Citizen.)

They reckon there are 100 titles do they .... and X-COM the best strategy game of the decade .... hmmm. Anyway this is an alternative cover - more pages than the US edition!

I think it's 2 issues or 2 zones, that one says September 2017, the one with SC says October 2017

I don't know why you suddenly troll SC like that. Yes, the game has bugs, but it's normal because it's in pre-alpha. Developing never done before tech is not easy, NASA did not fly to the moon in a few days. Delays are normal for game development. Just because people don't understand game development and challenge in making something never done before. Other games took more years to develop. some 10 years like star wars. StarCitizen started major development 2 years ago, they had to build all the studios and do research first. One of their research was alien language, how long do you think it takes to learn alien language? Can't be done in a year.

@kikoodutroa8 - Although I agree with everything you said after the first sentence, I think you misunderstood MaxBacon. He was just trying to forward something he saw funny (and interesting), like the smile on the man's face at the end. I'm pretty sure it wasn't the bugs he wanted to show.

In case you tried to be sarcastic then it didn't go so well. Better luck next time! :)

The top left one should be the cover for the upcoming Star Citizen Backer Bible, where we worship the lord and savior of PC Gaming, Christ Roberts and his angels Brian, Erin and Tony! gg

    From CIG's Gamescom booth:

Seems that the visitors are checking in some of 3.0 in the booth, that tweet hints as much at least.

Until it's in backers hands I will just assume a cobbled together demo to try and build hype

It's a Gamescom booth so for sure a controlled limited showcase of to play with some stuff that will come with 3.0. The point of this things is allow people to play stuff that is not released yet; last year only the live released Alpha was played in the booth.

So quite one improvement what they managed last year.

Maybe Max. They both have the "first planetary landing article though". The US version used to be somewhat different to the UK/EU version years ago but today I wouldn't know whether this is still the case or not.

More info and Pics on the Gamescom booth. It seems this year they're being more successful with the booth by allowing a play on some of 3.0 in a moon with some of its features. The setup is on a local server all are playing in, not fully offline.

(this guy is a community manager at Space Engineers I think)

The waiting time to try it out seems to be of around 20 minutes, the livestreams start tomorrow.
