Yes it is like how a forum thread works. It is run by multiple human processors but only few are able to produce a post without a straw man argument that actually contributes to the thread.

    I do.  Obviously, you don't.

That was only a rhetorical question, so I didn't really prepare any other response other than, so if there is a subject matter expert in hostile takeovers then he'd be the one! No?

How do you conduct a hostile takeover of a privately owned company when the controlling interest is held by one person?  You don't need to be an expert to answer that.  Try googling it.

I'm not taking his opinion on something just because of who it is, and neither should you.   Look it up, and see if you can understand what he's talking about.  I'm betting you can, because it's not complicated.  If you read it and still think what he's suggesting is possible, than that's cool.  I don't mind folks disagreeing with me.  Just don't do it because some guy says it's possible, though.  In this case, he happens to be wrong about it to the best of my knowledge.   ...but then, you shouldn't take my word for that either.  =)

Ok, well I've decided not to disagree with you....if that's what you want me to do. Just got back from the library and I checked out "Business Law: Explained Using Memes for People Without Internet" and I'll say I think you're right. At least what I've seen so far seems consistent.

Wake me up when the facts are in...

That's really all I can say at this point. Too many possible scenarios...

Oh and I guess those thinking DS was in this to try and take over the operation weren't that off base, at least judging from the last few pages of this thread.

I took it as him meaning that someone (presumably someone with the authority to make such a deal) negotiates the "stripping" as a sort of plea bargain. Which would only work, of course, if there is a very clear and compelling case against CR, Sandi and Ortwin.

I don't think anyone other than DS is convinced that there is.

Thank god I didn't support this project, I know tons of others who did and deeply regret it. Definitely been a wild ride reading about all of the drama coming out of this studio, definitely no where near the standards some other KS developers have been creating. Best of luck to those who wasted many millions of $.

Got to agree with you. Although ship sales have been trending down since The Escapist article, they sill took in close to $57,000 yesterday:

It's probably the same group of whales-fanboys who never stop to give them money. I have been following and paying attention to all their sales and all the money (the relevant that actually makes the difference and raise their cash) that they gather is from these limited sales, expensive ships, sold in quantities that varies from 800 unities to an average of 1500-2000 unities and in rare occasions (cheaper offers) grew to 5000-7000 unities sold.

And yes, this average has been dropping still to worst numbers.

But it does not prevent all the fanboys to claim that "1 million backers" are all supporters and accepts all that they do. A questionable number too. Given that from the beginning, the whales behavior was to buy several additional packages, i don't think that this ever changed. "All for the cause" you know. They do what they can to make up things and to promote the game and to show a scenario of "success" and "popularity", no matter what.

That's probably one of the reasons that CR does not want to show his books. People probably would be shocked to hear that Star Citizen never had more than 300k individuals who backed that game (which is my guess, after looking into it for a long time). They could have a little more players actually - but are people who earned a package from free, since the whales keep their constant giveaways of packages to friends, family or even to the general public in the internet.

If a lot more people decided to ask refund, most of the money still would be kept by Roberts (if you assume that he still have a lot of money saved), since most of the packages of those people were gifted to other people, which, in consequence, cannot be refunded. Those people did not spend a dime, and who gave them the packages is not entitled to get their money back, they quit from that when giving away.

Well in another thread on these very forums Derek described how to take over a company, and confirmed that he had used the tactics mentioned to do so in the past.... so maybe it isn't BS after all?

That is the chances with kickstarter, but with all this going on you have to be stupid to give them money at this point.
