Right now with the bad press it has received no investor is going to touch this game. So they are lucky they have their funding going strong right now. The question has been and will be in the future how much longer before they have an actual game to play and charge for.
I do have one question, for all the people buying ships and yes the more expensive one's are they going to get to play the game free or still have to pay once the game does go live. Sorry if this has been asked already.
The "bad press" exists only in the minds of individuals like DS, you and a hand full of others. CR stated that besides the backers they do utilize additional means of funding.

Everyone who bought a pledge package (be it the 25 $ last X-mas or a 2500 $ Javelin destroyer owner) gets access to the game ... there is no monthly fee, there is no mandatory extra payment needed.
Unless you want to be a subscriber ... those are the ones that make possible all the extra weekly shows and vblogs and the production of the Jump Point magazine... by voluntarily paying a monthly fee. Subscribers get monthly flair items for decorating their hangars (banners, snow globes, mini-display-ship-models, X-mas wreaths etc.). Other players after Launch Day can also get those decoration items for in game money.
10 HOURS performance capture story alone. Good bye Bioware. Good bye EA. Nice knowing you.
what did you say, Battlefront has no Single player campaign, no one wants that? okay
Movies take 2-3 years? to make about 2 hours worth of story. I mean Im no expert but 10 hours could be repeating different lines or animation capture multiple times to get it perfect for each role. But I do hope there a good amount of story in the game, i am just not expecting something epic like the lord of the rings or star wars movies.
