I'll get excited if they decide to not make it yet another action RPG, otherwise, the action junkies can have it, like the other 90% of the games out there.

if only it had MMO attached, I just cant get into single player games, they get too boring without interaction and pvp
But it is an MMO; all of these games are MMOs. Most modern gamers play MMOs as single player games. It's close enough, so get into it...

Note: Please EA, let them do their thing, do not put your stinky fingers on their game decisions. I know im talking to a wall here... oh well. Wait and see before i give any money.
I knew this would happen, make's perfect sense with all the stuff going on with SWTOR and the new movie hitting. Oh i hope and pray EA does NOT screw this up. I will be there the second it releases.
Open world dont mean MMORPG...maybe they are tnking something like metal gear, fallout, just cause 3 ...etc
^Pretty much. But that doesn't mean it can't be an amazing game. Some people have thousands of hours invested into Skyrim, Fallout and similar titles. Way more than they have in many of the MMOs they've played.

given the history of Star Wars games and revial of things we think developers understand (John Smedley) there is every reason to only believe it when you watch reviews on it already having been completed.
if you hype on this you only have yourself to blame if it goes bad.
wait...plus an 'open world' game that has hired a 'writer'?
oh this is going to go badly
Open world like Assassin's Creed, not like ARK. So a writer is needed, because it'll be more akin to AC than Life is Fuedal, for instance. That's good or bad depending on who you ask, but if it plays half as well as Syndicate or even better, Shadows of Mordor, I'll be happy.
I Star Wars game like Shadows of Mordor? That would pretty much be it for me. I'd never leave the house again...

@SEANMCAD actually you are completely wrong and being far too shallow in your thinking. Eve Online has great writers on the team and any serious sandbox needs them. Think it through, you'll get there, eventually...
I don't trust this at all. Made by Visceral Games...lets just google what games they have made...
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Visceral_Games
Very few games from that list. Dead Space and Dante's Inferno. Yep two titles out of 20 that are from 2008 and 2010. Most of their titles are movie or game spin offs so I do not have much hope for the company to produce an epic star wars video game.

so you equate the lead writer from Uncharted to be the same as just any writer?
no I think the one who is looking at this far to simplistically would be you.
Speaking of EVE. Do you understand the complexity and reason why 'Eve: True Stories' works? its pretty much the exact reason I gave. In fact I used a lot of CCPs language on the very subject. Its a great example of what I am trying to talk about here
Please do not respond to me, even if I ask you a question, its rhetorical.
I like that you guys are taking the "let's be negative about it before we know anything about the game and hope to be surprised approach". I'll do the other one, and hopefully we'll meet in the middle.
Normally I'd agree with you, but for me the stigma of EA as a publisher makes it too difficult to get excited. I was psyched for Battlefront until I saw how badly they ripped the heart out of it. So sorry if being a negative Nancy offends you but I feel my mistrust of EA products is well founded.
Yeah, but Battlefront is.... "good". I mean there's a solid 10 or 20 hours of enjoyment However, I agree it's SUPER easy to get over. I haven't played in a week or more and I'm not really broken up about it at all.
Would i play a starwars game? HELL YES.
Would i play a starwars MMORPG? HELL YES.
But... Would i play an MMORPG as we all know them? No, thank, you...
I started playing black desert this week in closed beta. within 10minutes, the game wanted me to kill 15 of these, 20 of them. 30 of these. 50 of them.
Games developers are not creative in producing brand new original games, and MMORPG's are nothing more than grind fests. Their all the same, and this will be little more than a Starwars old republic remake, and i quit that because of the lack of gameplay content, where the games overly expensive investment went into voice dialogue choices. When i first started playing old republic, there was no endgame, and the minigame space battles were bad.
give us an epic game of endgame content which allows us the players to actually fight over territory, and instead of this old fashioned after thought of having a thousand player server, if that. give us hundreds of thousands of players on 1 single server, like in Eve-online.
Make an MMO which is a TRUE Massive multiplayer, and give the game never ending longevity that lasts for many years to come.
Eve-online was by far and still is by far the best MMORPG, for epic massive battles and community based teamwork and fun. eve had its downfalls like the time based skills, and spreadsheet combat, but it had 1 realistic economy. 3000 plus man battles with over 250,000 players online at any one time on a low day. enable territories that enable player built guilds ( corporations / alliances and Coalitions) to flourish or be destroyed in a huge galaxy wide fight.
Lastly. Payments.
Give us the ability to play for free like in Archeage, while also making the player work to gain subscription status, that enables you to access the whole game. something that allows the poorer side of the gaming community to have the opportunity to play and enjoy.
something similar to Eve's PLEX system of having pilot licenses of 7 - 14 - 30 to yearly subscriptions, but dont make it so that a free to play player can not gain access to it. Let subscriptions be a player market run commodity, within a real economy, where it can rise or fall in price respectively with ingame money.
whatever you do. dont make a boring remake of an MORPG as i refer too them as. (no massive)
i wont play a game where quests dont have creativity, and merely request you to kill 50 of these and 50 of that.
Oh and by the sounds of it. its an EA title, so therefore i wont be interested.
EA is all about money grabbing and less on game quality and quantity.
Look at battlefront. its a battlefield reskin, only it has far less depth than what battlefield has. no classes, no dynamic fighting, and limited time in vehicles. uh uh...
DLC anyone for the best lightsaber? or DLC to enter another part of the galaxy anyone?
No thanks...

Battlefront is not a Battlefield re-skin. Battlefront sucks especially on PC. The hit detection is horrible, vehicles are sparse, 0 classes, not much weapon difference, and the large scale battles are meh at best. Battlefield is by far a better game. I am a big star wars fan and EA really screwed this one up.

I personally love the game. It's also nice that you can get on a even playing field quicker than you could in Battlefield if you are coming into it a little later like some of my friends. The game is beautiful and I like the mix of game modes you have. I think the vehicle to soldier ratio is also good. Just my point of view for those thinking about buying it. It's really fun even if it's not everyone's cup of tea...

Not holding out much hope for a SW game from the 'We destroy Worlds' company. But stranger things have happened.
