    I am a prospective customer...

So basically, you're complaining about a game that you haven't even bought... but still feel wronged in some way.
Absolutely, I'm unhappy with what I see. Can you... discuss the issue now, or do you want more info on me?

Here, look, I've presented relevant data. Would you like to talk about the subject?
As a prospective customer why do you believe you should have access to the same deals / prices as kickstarter supporters?

Waiting to buy a game, or not, when it launches - fine; but complaining you will then miss out on any pre-order deals  ......

Still no answer from you Adjuvant1?  Maybe - and this is just a stab in the dark you understand - you are just trolling the game?

I fully support your view that checking out a game when it has launched is a good move. And deciding, when it has launched, whether what is being offered is worth the price being asked.

However I also support the view of others that want to happy to see "something like Wing Commander" and have decided to support it.

I understand Brenic's concern that other Kickstarter funded projects could suffer if SC fails but why are you so concerned? You are a prospective customer but want it to be f2p and are unhappy at the prospect of paying?

There is an alpha out there. Last years posts that there was nothing been developed have been laid to rest. As a prospective customer however - key word: prospective - you don't need to worry about whether it will ever see the light of day. Wait until it launches - if it ever does.

    This was never even implied.

    Nope.

If people are being mugged in an alley or fleeced by a corporation, you feel others should mind their own business. Ok, got it. I disagree.

Ruh Roh. CIG has taken notice of the thread and wants to suppress meh! I'm being oppressed!

Great success. I hope more people wake up. I hope they just stop the propaganda machine, get busy and make the game they promised years ago.

The real question is . . . Has SC provided us all with over $100 million in forums entertainment? I think we're getting close, but the real fun starts next year imo. We'll probably get a couple hundred million worth of lulz.

Serious question, I've gone through all 8 pages, but something is missing.

Was there a officially post saying it was going to release early 2016?

All I remember is people saying 2016, but no exact date, so that could be the start middle or end, am i wrong?

If you've been reading the thread, you realize SQ42 "was going to release" for some time. This is just the latest iteration of delay sob stories and retcon. In many instances, now, there's little capacity to establish "what was said" because the CIG retcon has removed evidence, as example this...

Yes i knew it was going to be released.

Regardless if a wiki was edited there should still be an official post, video or twitter or saying "SQ42 is going to be released early 2016"

Just so you know you can look at the history of the edits and under SQ42 someone has just cut and pasted the same thing every year since 2014, so no officially statement was given on there saying it will release early 2016 either since the one mentioned 2 years ago.

I'm willing to say you are right if a official statement was made.

Do you consider this official, starting at 12:00?

    http://www.pcgamer.com/the-pc-gamer-show-episode-0-e3/

"Squadron 42 start rolling out middle of next year (2015) onward"

"Public release middle of 2016 (overall product of SC), because... working on persistent world"

I think we can safely say that this timeline is obsolete due to technical problems that CIG has encountered in the 1 1/2 years since then.

Dates, we want dates not estimates. I do not see dates.

    Why ?

Because CiG never specified any dates. They just talked about estimates.

FYI Rockstar failed to release GTA V for the PC two times at specific, announced by them, dates. Not estimates, dates.

Does this make them liars ? Ofc not. Plus their game is an excellent one exactly because the choose to not meet their initial release dates.

If by "technical problems" you mean "a chairman who shoots off his mouth with no real conception of the product" and "the company's collective incompetence to meet deadlines", then I'd tend to agree.

Wow. This statement is amazing. "A product is excellent exactly because it doesn't meet release dates."

I... don't know how to communicate against that. Maybe I should lobotomize myself just so we can be on the same page.

"Pre-alpha persistent universe" is dead on, if by "pre-alpha" he means still ".txt files and concept art". To that end, real life hyperspace travel is in pre-alpha. This guy should crowdfund for NASA.

Look at the video I just posted. That is not estimates, that is a "schedule" to quote the big man himself.

"About 20 hours and 70 missions is what we are releasing this year."

Good to see they're still working on SQ42 ! :D

Soon as the release date is announced, I'll pre-order...

Until then, I have plenty to keep me amused. I have no doubt the SC unFans will have plenty more opportunities to "express their dismay" regarding the progress of the game they have no intention of playing. But whatever floats your boat...

No offense, but it seems that you have some comprehension issues.

Where do i write that a product becomes excellent if it does not meet release dates ?

What i wrote is: GTA V is the game it is because Rockstar ignored the announced release date twice for they where not 100 % happy with the product. So, they took their time to fine tune and polish it as much as possible. And i can assure you that the final result is quite telling and absolutely worth the time we waited.

If the stories of them trying to do to much at once are true , then it makes sense they would scale down, cut back, and sperate the game into manageable parts.

The episodic release of SQ42 was clearly described and lined out in the stretch goals funding timeline. Backers new this from the get go 3 years ago. Non backers could very easily obtain this info in a matter of seconds.

Yet a handful of individuals on mmorpg pretend to not know about this in their desperate attempt to invent issues out of thin air.

Let's see with what they come up next.
There is nothing on the original Kickstarter stretch goals about an Episodic release. This was changed around 2014/2015 when they realized they never finish a full game in time.

Please do not spread lies and misinformation.
You are aware that SC's / SQ42's crowdfunding moved from KS to its own project website very early on, around the ~2 million mark, are you not ? Of course you are.

It is there where the stretch goals, starting at 2 mill up to 65 mill, and their timeline where set for everyone to see and keep track off.

The project listed on the KS has very little in common with the project in progress now.

Please do not spread lies and misinformation.
You realize he screwed almost all the original backers that did not want or get a chance to even vote on all the changes after that point!

So Please stop spreading lies and misinformation!

Why doesnt Rockstar Games use KickStarter?

Why doesnt game developers use kickstarter to fund their new projects?
would nt it be cheaper from their side?

    and with such mass following
they would amass a huge profit...much beyond the set goal

    like
gta 5 could have garnered like a billion bucks for all i know!

Rockstar using kickstarter would be like bill gates receiving welfare.

If you are referring to the KS page backers, i am one of them, we where very enthusiastic about the project expanding. It was stated on that page as well.

LOL this one statement says it all about a lot of the people at CIG. That is why CR can change scam and lie all he wants with people like this.

One thing I hope all you backers get thru your thick skulls, is you better start throwing a lot more money his way. By what is out there and what he needs to do there is a great chance you are looking at least another 250m+ dollars. Even then when he goes thru all that cash I bet he asks for even more time.

After all who knows what new toy or coding may open up and want to put it in his new, old, made up game!

    Have a great Day!
What you did here ranks very low.
