Sanya is an amazing woman and a shining example to other community managers on how to exemplify the position. I've never encountered her personally but I have been part of many of the communities she's headed up. Thanks for all your hard work it hasn't gone unnoticed!

Also to the folks claiming there are more male gamers than female, pc/console/other, just "lol." Your data is really outdated.

Do you have "data" to say otherwise? There's almost certainly more male gamers than females, but really, who gives a shit? It's completely meaningless.

The gap isn't as "massive" as you think. Also this data is 8 years old, so there are likely more women gaming now. Why does this bother you?

I don't think it's an odd notion that there are people promoting female sanitation and construction workers.
Please do point to something that says there was a protest to get more women sanitation workers.

That is not a protest, that is a person in the industry saying something. It was also about management, she is not in the field nor was she talking about it. Point to a PROTEST, with feminists demanding equality in the field. Show me a protest of feminists demanding more women working the mines. Show me a protest of feminists demanding more women in any field where the work is extremely dangerous.

The issue, aside from that, is that there are more men in the industry than women, SNIP
    This cracked me up.
Why? I never asked for quotas, and that's not contrary.

     O.o  You cannot be serious.

"People who tell you you’re awesome are useless. No, dangerous.

They are worse than useless because you want to believe them. They will defend you against critiques that are valid. They will seduce you into believing you are done learning, or into thinking that your work is better than it actually is." ~Raph Koster

You're the one who specifically asked for a protest. I didn't bring up protests. Sorry I can't scour the web to get more specific for you. I think what I found was alright. As for the quota thing, I'm not asking for quotas. You can imagine it, or take a piece of what I've said instead of the entirety of what I said, but I'm absolutely not for quotas. I'm for people being hired based on being qualified. Advertising to women that the industry welcomes them, and showing young girls that the gaming industry is an option is what I'm for.

There's nothing more gratifying than playing an MMO for free.

Still have no clue what she has to do with game development.
Think its called public Relations, and that not really new where i come from.
If one of our journalist talk to a "representative" of something if its the police, fire department, Taxi drivers, Trade union, Road safety 90% of the time its a woman.
But must be somthing new in the states or somthing.

Its like saying DMKano works for Trion :bleep_bloop:
(who knows maby he IS still i will  >:)  him in BDO with my lightshow)
Best Guild leader i ever had was Female to (from belgium even)

I don't care about the title bait.

But When I read people saying There are more Womans playing MMO then mans, please tell me which game.

I played every MMO launching since ultima online, and I usually end up in on team speak in a guild.

Ratio is usually 1-2 girls, 30 guys.

    I really don't see that 50/50 man/woman ratio anywhere in MMO's.

Anyone has any stats abouyt this? Even in Real life, I know very few gamer girls, and they are mostly casual gamers. The only hardcore girl gamer I know personally stream in Twitch showing as much boobs as she can.

More gender politics nonsense. Why is it that any time I hear about women in the gaming industry it is always some community manager type person? That has nothing to do with making games. That is just public relations at best. Any intern can be a forum mod or community manager. Can they find one woman in the entire gaming industry that does anything but edit forums or draw concept art??? These articles about women in the gaming industry kind of prove women have almost nothing to do with the gaming industry.... nice try though...

Edit: Sorry, I almost forgot about cosplayers and holding microphones at E-sport events.

Of course, it could never be due to male management not hiring female administrators and developers, right?  Nor could it be the stigma of women even trying to get into the industry, like it used to be for political careers and sports and your typical corporate board room.

The sheer amount of comments commonly made by nerds in games and on bulletin boards shows the contempt for women quite plainly, whether by sexualizing everything about them or by dismissing them as real competition.  Considering these very same nerds also permeate the business side of the gaming industry, it's no wonder there is such little participation from women as gamers and as employees in the industry.

Yes because management is primarily hiring people based on gender not on their skills and qualifications. Right. Your logic made every sjw proud.

That comment about nerds is funny and ironic. We nerds in games and on bulletin boards don't have the urge to cater to women in every way. It seems that real alphas, need to do it constantly though - screw logic and screw facts. If you have the audacity to say that a woman is incompetent or unable to do a job properly, you are a mycologistic nerd.

    ... lmao.
