Ok its 12pm here and I got time so heres a record breaking 2 posts in one day for me. Look I highly doubt that. I've actually played There for 2 days. I agree there are things you can build and little playgrounds of your choice. BUT, you cannot build a seperate MMORPG. What graphic engine are you going to do it with anyways besides the one they provide you with. The graphics are going to look like There's(correct me if I am wrong) which are a bit cartoony. Just accept the fact that no matter how much it allows you to do, creativity has its limits in There. People enjoy a hardened MMORPG with dedicated players and the atmosphere it provides. You cannot create that MMORPG in There. There is what its players make it as you have previously stated. No matter how much you try to stress the endless possibilities man, in the end it comes down to the fact that There is a bunch of mini-games, entwined with different landscapes, and objects to toy around with. You then multiply that with its community and you have the game There. It is NOT the ultimate fantasy world where your imagination can soar into the heavens, and you create all that you wish, making it the perfect game.

Three times! Thats crazy. I once wasn't bill for There. I asked Live Help when my next billing date was and she said I was not auto billed. So I ended up pay the 4.95 for the year.
I was in its beta before it had any job system, people were paying real money for fake money in the beta -in which real money was the ONLY way to do anything!!-
i dont mind paying a monthly/yearly fee to rent server space, but i will NEVER pay for ingame cash or items and they practically forced you to buy there money.
I dont like nor will ever like There not because its a bad game -ITS A GAME!!! not real life or a substitute- but because of its shoddy advancement (paying real cash for game cash so you can get by ticks me off)

Using the paint balling system you could very well create a FPS style game. Using Gmax you can create nearly any thing you wish. The building tools they give us are very powerful. We are able to animate any object we wish and even animate clothes.
If you set the settings correctly you can have a person KO'd and then they will stay out until the system is reset. I admit if you create a WoW style game it might be very limeted but creating a FPS game would totally be very possible.

Do remember There is a company and with such low suscription fees they are limeted on ways to make money. If There was rich I don't think they would force us to pay real cash for Tbucks. But I think they might give us weekly allowance later this month.
it doesnt matter how small a company is or what they set thier fees too. -they choose to have people buy game money then alot of people will just shrug the game off
ever pop off a round of paintballs into the back of a guy pointblank before he touches the flag? PURE SATISFACTION -and pain for him-

If you set your mind to it I bet you can do it. Don't limit your imagination to a FPS game. Maybe a gang based game where you can use guns or cars as your weapons. Basicly you can do any thing you set your mind to.
There are limets but you can over come them. People design board games and interaction games all the time. I heard last month there was a Final Fantasy based game. I truely think any limet you come by can be over come using your imagination.

I don't buy Tbucks and do fine. I have many viechles and clothes. I am about to open Therian Media in a few weeks which will be There's first record label. Now it might now earn me much cash but in the end it'll keep me going. See, you don't have to buy Tbucks.
Ok I am now really interested in what "tools" these guys are giving people who might have close to no experiance in design, coding, or mapping that allows them to do "anything" they want. Give me the name of the "tools" Joel, and this is it for me I made a maddening 4 posts today so I will just continue reading responses from now on till the next saga arrives.
Originally posted by Joel1120 Ok back on topic. Still no one has given me a real answer to why people don't like There so much. I really didn't know my topic would be hijacked. Guess thats what ya get for brining up an important topic around people who don't deserve There.
I gave you 3 real answers. Learn to read. 1. It's NOT a game. It's a virutal world. 2. You have to WORK in the game, and when a game becomes work, it's not fun. When it's not fun, it's not worth playing. 3. You play, and that shows that the community is full of asshats who are full of themselves and view themselves as self-righteous, ego-maniacal twits who think that what they are doing is the best, and there's NO ALTERNATIVES. Seriously Joel, I highly recommend you leave these boards, as you've done nothing but troll ever since your very first post, and we as a community do NOT want to read your BS anymore.

Its called Gmax! You can animate and build with it, wow! You have to learn how to build with it but once you know how and you use the systems in There you can over come any limit you come by. I have seen many do it and many more will follow.
no offense taken. Anyway, Virtual world vs actual gameplay. It's an interesting debate, but I can't find a way to attempt There and formulate my own opinions. Any ideas?

Settle down, brian. Joel might have come across strong in some of his previousl threads, but he's perfectly civil in this one, if you ask me. Cut him a little slack.
