All these websites rely themselves on the single journalist that posted about it, so i reached the journalist where all of this was sourced from directly and:
So... Wasn't guaranteed it will delay, however, it's likely. Hence why CIG have not confirmed it.
It's interesting that GameRanx reports "Squadron 42 is most likely to arrive by mid to late 2017" unlike what the actual journalist that made the interview they were reporting on said.
So this discussion has come to its conclusion. The release date still stands for 2016 and possibly 2017. Which might bring to fruition of my prediction of SC MVP launching somewhere around February.

SC's MVP has nothing to do with SQ42's release. SC & SQ42 are 2 games to be independently released, on which you are able to buy them separately.
That prediction for me is silly from top to bottom, SC Alpha 3.0 releasing late this year, 2 months later pretty much SC releases, no beta or anything necessary just jump from Alpha to Released!

If I'm off by 2 years will anyone defend me like they did CIG?

I'll defend you!!!

I'm not so sure that people can't handle transparency. What people can't handle is seeing things happen, seeing things change and then not be told why that's occuring. If you're going to be open then be open and give people a proper insight as to what's going on.
One of the things I was looking forward to with SC was a better understanding of the development process, instead most of the 'open development' has turned out to be nothing more than marketing fluff. The jump point magazines do have some good information but that's about it.
Totally agree with you on this. I mean I can't say that being more open would help or hurt things since people just seem to think that people are blatantly lying anyway, but some insight would definitely be helpful. I mean there was probably more coverage on here regarding 64-bit space than there was by CIG.
Either way, as much as I love the idea of transparency, I don't think that the majority of people can handle it. Besides SC, there are plenty of examples including Destiny, The Division, and the whole NMS multiplayer thing. It's not even exclusive to games, either, it's in everything. The beautiful thing about the Internet is that there is always compelling information to support whatever opinion you might have, so you're never wrong!
If I'm off by 2 years will anyone defend me like they did CIG?
I'm sure there will support for the front lines. The eternal war of forum crusades surrounding SC! :waving:
Nah ... in 2 years most will be too busy playing Star Citizen.
Have fun
They MIGHT have an SQ 42 portion to play but they most certainly wont have anything resembling what 'star citizen' was supposed to be or even what people still think it will be.
Of course they are late and obfuscated. Roberts is a sea anchor for productions. He has to be overcome by the folks doing the actual work. Hs is too self-absorbed and egotistical to get out of the way. Part of the reason they need all that money to get stuff out.
Never expect things on time or smoothly delivered.
If you are holding out for the perfect game, the only game you play will be the waiting one.
The way CIG do it is way better than what the big publishers do.... Big publishers tell you exactly what will be in the game but not when you will get it, whereas CIG tell you exactly when you will get it but not what will be in the game.

In 2 years the game will be in its 4th year of delays.
Nah ... that would be that Line of Defense game... and by then it would be 6 years delayed ....
Have fun
I always get confused when people bring up LOD? LOD was never a crowdfunded game right? So how can you compare it to a game that is only crowdfunded by a heck of a lot of backers?
Mainly because the developer of LoD is by far the loudest voice in the room, and is in the process of developing a Planetside 2 clone that was due to come out in 2012. Also DS has compared the two games on several occasions.

Nah its not crowdfunded, its was just in early access for the last 4 or 5 years on Steam before it was removed from Steam.

So if DS had released LOD successfully and to great fanfare(bear with me here) would then all the fans be praising his opinion as valid?

If he had a history of releasing well designed, bug free games yes his words would carry some more weight but as it stands he has yet to release anything of the sort.
Case in point back when this whole shit show started the website this article came from did a early access review of his game and had some problems with it (like most people at the time since it was and still is a buggy mess). Something got posted about it on the steam forums and Derek blamed their german drivers for the issue .
How anyone can trust anything coming out of this person's mouth after saying something so monumentally idiotic is beyond me.
Stop being so easily fooled. LOD has nothing to do with this thread's topic and was just bait being used to make you go offtopic, like someone else already mentioned.
It has absolutely nothing to do with discussing the state of SC/SQ42.

sorry but an apple is an apple is an apple.

Speaking of... SQ42 is still on schedule according to Roberts. Late this year and early next year is still on target. It is the fans who have prepared a Line of Defense just in case something apocalyptic happens and it doesn't come out. HAHA... pun intended.

Some people are still butthurt that someone hates their beloved Star Citizen so much, so they resort to the exact same underhanded and immature tactics used by that person. You know, like comparing apple to oranges and name calling...

As of right now not one of us can say anything good about either games until they finally go gold! When that will be can only be guessed with no proof either will ever make it to that gold standard.
I beg to differ. Just yesterday some crazy fan posted how the current version of the game is the best game he ever played. Apparently fixing a few com stations everyday is what passes for "Best Game Ever".

I'm not sure how that has any bearing on how SC will be late but sure
