They had to tone them down so much its fairly worthless for mobile gaming. The RX 480M is comparable to the GTX 960M. Which is really bad for a new card. And you can't get one yet either.

No it's not. It's comparable to a 1060 6GB
You are thinking its already out and its not. They screwed the pooch for mobile market.
Hmm, someone has a hurt butt over AMD doing so well.
Yea I'm very upset that they made a GPU and completely conquered the market and even took laptops by storm. Oh wait I can't even find a laptop with RX GPU right now. Yet somehow nvidia brings out the 1050,1060,1070 to counter AMD and well it worked very well considering they use hardly any power and have mobile versions which equal in performance. AMD is in serious trouble fighting against Nvidia and Intel. Not to mention that you can find all of the Nvidia cards in laptops right now.
to compare with a gtx 1080. Dual GPU's. And remembering the video where they claimed the dual 480's were using less power then the 1080 and outperforming it to boot. Ended up being false because they use 2x the power and still don't perform as well as one 1080.
When talking about financial results etc. "performance" means selling stuff. And a whole host of stuff gets wrapped up in that. Stuff a company can control and stuff a company "cannot" influence e.g. is the world economy growing; raw material costs; PC sales; exchange rates; does it have mobile (phone. laptop etc.) or stuff that goes in consumer products and so forth. Lots of stuff.
Stock markets take a "view" on this; sometimes they get it right but they can be wrong. - with results sometimes being better, sometimes worse.
It's as if a company is making money when they release a product and losing money when they work on developing it.
It's as if it's not expected that you have tone down performance if you want a card to draw less power.
It's as if filmoret is bashing AMD and malabooga is bashing Nvidia...
PS: AMD has monopolised the console market. They are not making much money from it but it really helps them long term because it means games are primarily concerned with running well on AMD hardware. If I were AMD I wouldn't worry.

All I know is that I am looking forward to building a new AMD rig in the next few months. All of their upcoming items look great and the cost is likely to be good as well.

You'll have to help me out then. I can't find the card you're referring to. Do you mean R9 M485X because I don't think there is an RX M480. I checked AMD, wikipedia, and a little searching to see if I missed something. According to the AMD it's not a model. According to wikipedia it's not launched yet. According to wccftech there is a RX 5xx series in the works.
They gave out some specs around July of last year. They were calling it the RX 480 Laptop card. IDK what ever happened to it and we still got nothing to show for it.

I'm not bashing them just calling them out on their own facts. Which turned out to be false and they did this not me. And that still doesn't change nothing because like the title says they are not making money. Q3 2016 one of the worse quarters they have ever had. And looking at Q4 2016 they came very close to breaking even. Sorry but I made more money today then they made last year. Fact check...

That fact of yours in actually not true unless you made around 5.000.000.000 dollars today, in which case please tell me where you work.
AMD made that much money but why was it a net loss?
Because they are spending a lot, with both their CPU and GPU technologies close to release. Businesses tend spend a lot when they have to invest, and looking at AMD stock it seems investors understand it better than you do.
Would AMD rather be Nvidia and have revenue high enough that you can invest in R&D while still turning out a profit? Sure.
Is it possible for AMD? Probably not. Even if their 2017 releases are incredibly successful it'd still take years to convince everyone that their brand is as good or better than Nvidias.

Show where i bash anyone and completely invent stuff up (and insist on completely invented and wrong stuff) like that character filmoret. As is said said before insisting that "157-125=27" is pretty much all you need to know about "filmoret" lol
I'll be sure to resurrect this thread after q2 and q3 so we can see who was wrong in this thread and who was right. I can't even write a decent thread without everyone crying and acting like I'm some sort of hater.
Due to how desperate the OP appears to be at bashing AMD...I just purchased an AMD card.
I didnt bash AMD. You people just don't understand common sense if you think I was bashing AMD. Maybe you just need a little perspective.
Nvidia made 614mil 2016 and 631mil 2015
AMD lost 497mil 2016 and 660mil 2015
2014 -155 mil 2013 +103 mil 2012 -1.06 billion 2011 +368mil
Add a few numbers and subtract a few numbers and since 2011 AMD has lost close to 2 billion dollars. So I believe I'm correct in saying that they need a good year. guess you can call me a hater for making that assessment.
Yea I didnt do a full analysis of the company because somewhere around 2010 it got very confusing and I just didn't want to put forth the effort. I couldnt tell if they made money in 2009-2010 or lose it. And it looks to me they lost over 1 billion in 07 and another billion in 08.

AMD is going to have a strong year I believe.
