Come on Bethesda this is not y'all! What is going on with these company's lately.
Oh, I think it is very much them and has always been them. All we're seeing now is the veneer and polish have worn off to reveal the truth beneath the painting.
Veneer and polish, ironically, aren't words that apply to Bethesda's products.
This is true- But FO76 takes this to the next level.
Bethesda has always made quality games- maybe not a technical level (although Skyrim was quite beautiful on release and the art style of Morrowind still stands among the best ive seen in a game) but quality in the area of gameplay and the illusion of a living world.
They have steadily been dumbing their games down, but when I saw a "Bethesda " title I knew it would be fun, done with care, and I would get an insane amount of play time.
I dont get caught up in brand hype but I tend to expect things from certain brands and when I see consistent quality products I have no problem exercising some brand loyalty and overlooking some faults...
Harley Davidson doesnt make the highest quality bikes and you often spend more time tightening screws than riding the damn thing (or at least that used to be the case)- However, its all I would own for a million other factors that come into play.
Bethesda doesnt make the the highest quality games and you often spend more time with community patches and mods than playin the game (lol)- However, they are an instant buy or pre-order for me because of a million other factors.
Bad analogy but whatever.
Was Bethesda always this scummy? Idk... They made fun ass games though. After being burned on this one though and seeing how theyve handled this, theyve seen my last dollar.
Well then they should allow refunds / returns for people who don't want nylon bags...
Not a big deal.
Except they aren't and that's what makes it a big deal.

This just adds even more ammunition to be used against Bethesda by the legal firm currently investigating them, as they are specialists in this type of 'law' with a record of being successful, frankly its hard to imagine how Bethesda could have made a worst decision. Its probably only a matter of time before Bethesda is hit with a 'cease and desist' from the FTC etc. and that will just be the start.
Interesting news is that Bethesda is now willing to compensate those who bought this edition with ingame currency, 500 atoms to be precise, which is an equivalent of 5 bucks. As someone wrote: 'thats not even enough to buy the color blue...'
Horrible, horrible PR. On top of horrible, horrible PR. On top of what many call a broken game.
/Cheers, Lahnmir
Apparently going canvas > nylon is only worth a 2.5% discount. $195 instead of $200.
Somebody in the thread said the digital currency was actually a way for Bethesda to cover themselves from refunds, spend the currency and be screwed 'because digital goods.' I don't know how much of that is actually true or enforcable. I am not well versed in Law, at least not this part of it
/Cheers, Lahnmir
Yea it's 'compensation'. If somehow this all ended up with a court ruling that Bethesda had to refund/pay (or whatever) the customers taken by this false advertising, if you accepted the 500 atoms, you've already received compensation and are ineligible for whatever comes out of the court decision.
Here's some info from the most entertaining lawyer in the world, Leonard French.

Unlike a lot of his videos, this one is a short info provider. From the description:
"
Let's discuss their dispute resolution policy and how customers can potentially bring actual legal claims for #refunds and other remedies."
unless the cour also rule, since the compensation "goods" are liked with teh game account, refunding means bethesda taking the account and game back so they can still get it, saying it will cover is more wishfull thinking,
I wonder what their PR department is going to do to try and put out all the fires. To be honest the number of youtube videos and some garnering upwards of a million views have done a lot to bring this matter to attention and if they think they can simply ride this storm out hoping they will come out of it intact,it is beyond naive.

The shortage of paper for the Pizza box is spot on.
That shows how pathetic Bethesda excuses really are.
