I'll do that when you stick to minding your own business. When I paid money it was clearly to receive something in return with an estimated time.   It's not like they are a little late.  They are currently 300% over their ETA... 6 years.  So yeah, I'll complain, and if that bothers you that's your fault.

And again, you haven't played SQ42 and neither have I.
    You engaged me remember?  ;)

And perfectly I'm fine with only playing Squadron 42 exactly when it's ready. Which is exactly when the developer I gave money to develop it says it is. Not sooner or later. When it's ready. You gave money to Chris Roberts for him to make a Chris Roberts game. If you didn't knew who you were giving your money to, again, it's your fault.

E-crying "are we there yet" ad nauseuam won't make the game come sooner, it's only a mechanism to cope with the frustration which translates in nothing but noise.

Meanwhile Star Citizen/Squadron42 will keep on being developed with more and more backers and players enjoying what there is to play-test while funding keeps breaking records every year. Rinse & Repeat B)

Hope they're paying you well lol. Still , a Badge of honour. My dear monkey :D

Oh, you misunderstood me. I'm not getting paid for this, i work as a finisher in construction.

Think for a moment how many dedicated hardcore Star Citizen fans there are? How hard would it be for genius such as Chris Roberts to convince a couple stupid animals; for instance: a baboon, a pig and a rabbit to do his PR dirty work?

For me, it seems it's quite easy, those idiots would do it for free.

You see where i am going with this?

Or do i need to post a couple charts?

Patch of what?  Certainly not SQ42.

To reiterate... neither you nor I have played any part of SQ42 yet.  Despite the fact that the last Roadmap from March said it was supposed to be in Alpha by June and Beta by Sept.

    https://robertsspaceindustries.com/roadmap/board/2-Squadron-42

They are only talking about "story progress" in November, but some people just eat it right up.  Amazing.

The only progress update I want from SQ42 is a release date, that they hit.

Babs almost never talks about SQ42.  He knows it's indefensible at this point.  This album is AMAZING at showing what shit show CIG is.

If you crowdfund a video-game it implies you understand what crowdfunding and developing of video-games entails.  Doesn't matter how long you've backed or for how much lol, you're not entitled to complain about delays because you've backed a video-game which is still actively being developed.

Holy cow, that is some hillbilly backwards logics.

If a game is fully funded by a publisher, then "you're not entitled to complain about delays"

If a game is funded by Kickstarter backers, then the backers are absolutely entitled to complain about delays.

    You're welcome.

CIG can't manage to get out 1/3 of a single player game.  A game promised initially for 2014.  A game built on a reputable single player engine.  Despite all their funding, they can't even get a preview of it out.  Or a roadmap.  Just 1/3 of a promised single player game....

This comes partly due to tieing the single game design to the multiplayer game Star Citizen, which continues to struggle with development issues.     Also, I suspect that given their success at crowdfunding, they are worried that a less than spectacular Squadron 42 would definitely impact their fundraising efforts.

You can talk about 'Ready when its ready' all you want, but given the bumbling micromanagement style of the top crew,  that won't occur until they run out of money.  So buy some more ships!

I think it was winter of 2017 when I first commented that we'd see the same excuses year after year.   Cue the fanatics for another year.

Remember folks, if Chris Roberts cared about the backers he wouldn't keep making false promises regarding SQ42.  He would have something to show people.  Hell, maybe even a playable demo 5 years after the original release date.

I'm going to buy another $1000 in ships this coming sale in commemoration of how funny I find these threads and because I will thoroughly enjoy hijacking all your ships when the game releases. I can only say there are enough of us dumb boomer idiots (whales) supporting the game financially till we get what we want.

Time to go play around with my new Mercury Star Runner, rob some people of their drugs, attempt to hijack a cargo ship (I always end up blowing them up before I can board), attempt to rob a mining vessel (because I hate mining but I love money) and just some shenanigans with the crew in the game Star Citizen with all its vaporware.

Then I'll go play some Genshin Impact and Phasmo. Ah, the life of someone who enjoys games, life is good. I have 6 weeks off work, vacation since I took 0 time previously this year. Work hard whale hard, I mean play hard.

Sadly, unfettered ambition leads very often to a big fall.  Especially when Mr.  'Make that Pixel Green!' micromanager is in charge.    His last unfettered stint lead to Digital Anvil's failure to release anything under his watch.

But hey, gotta keep shovelling money his way, or else.

Nobody has played SQ42, you don’t have a clue if it is great or absolutely awful. Or are you talking about that other game? Then its just your usual subjective blah blah.

Quick, some pretty pictures and trolling in a futile attempt to distract the people from the fact that I can’t refute a single point they make about SQ42.

We know nothing about SQ42, you know nothing about SQ42. We only know it had been delayed again and again. So stop your BS, again.

'This does not apply just to ED but SC or any other game. What they will get is Rebirth/X4, likely prettier but equally underwhelming and pointless.

It is incredibly difficult to design some meaningfull leg content that would fit a space ship game - simply because it is not a leg game.

It is just huge resource waste....'

Off course they would, that's why after 8 years there's still so no game who can rival Star Citizen Alpha scope, scale and features.  B)

Correction. YOU known nothing about SQ42. :D

Those who follow the project know quite a lot about SQ42. From it's lore, gameplay, to the story, to the actors involved etc

If you're playing Star Citizen Alpha you are using the same FPS weapons, Ships and Game Mechanics that are used in Squadron42, as the Star Citizen Alpha is used to get feedback on all of those mechanics which are also used in SQ42.

Besides there's been toons of footage released about SQ42 and it's development and all of them are nothing short of amazing. Just because you're out of your depth and not willing to do actual research about games doesn't mean other's aren't.
Also, most importantly, it has Commander Gordon, Superman, Scully & Smeagol in it AND It's a Chris Roberts game
Ofc it will be great, just like all of it's previous games B)

Proper studios have to worry about financials, i.e. they have to operate profitable.
Luckily CIG have enough money banked from their previous releases get money gifted from backers who totally don't expect anything at all in return, so they don't have to worry about that aspect of running a proper delevopment studio.

How much is left to complete and by when can we expect it to be finished are the more relevant questions.

Will it actually be any fun, until we get a chance to play it, who can say?

You know a game will fill a market gap when  it's haters are more desperare to play it than it's backers:D

Hey at least it's better than the old "90 days top imminent collapse" unicorns so there's that.

If one cant bare with the uncertainties of game dev or enjoy the process of making games then maybe crowdfunding is not for you. And that's ok. After all that's the main reason why studios have to develop their games in secrecy. Mainstream gamers have trouble understanding basic game dev cycle and it' hurdles.

Still, look it from the bright side. You have plenty of time to save some pennies to aford a rig to play it whenever it releases B)

I wasn't calling you a hater directly @Beholder2k ;More like the ones who've became delusioned with gaming and are only interested in forum drama using SC threads to vent their frustrations, you know the ones who've been saying CIG is going to collapse are more than smartie, just check the posts in the loans, lawsuits etc threads. Pages and pages of doom & fud and here's CIG still expanding their studios while having a record year in funding and player engagement B)

Being a backer changes little if you're not actually backing. Some if the biggest haters are/were backers who didin't understood what they were getting into and became desilusioned. Spending money requires no actual knowledge, knowing how and where to spend it does ;)

And Answering the Call people have been. Notice the constant increase in backers & funding along the years.   B)
