My thoughts now are that CDPR is no better than any other business.  The open, consumer friendly nature of GOG just hid the fact they are as greedy and short sighted as any other publisher.

There is zero chance they weren't aware of the state of the game on last gen consoles.  They did the wrong thing and while issuing refunds is great, there is no reason to believe they won't repeat the same mistake in the future.

They are most definitely not the successor to the Blizzard of old who released games when they were ready.  I'm glad their stock value has tanked and I find it hilarious that they couldn't predict this happening.

Not read many comments slagging on the graphics...but the gameplay, yeah that's drawing a lot of people's ire.

It's weird how different your perception is from mine. I see most of the negative comments here and elsewhere coming from those who bought and played the game.

    How can this be?

Really who is it you think isnt playing? Game is fun but in no way groundbreaking because it is painted in a cyberpunk skin.

I've been thoroughly enjoying it. It's been a while since I could sit down on a game and 8+ hours pass by whilst feeling like it's only been an hour.

Combat is fun, I've set it to Very Hard (Can't remember if that's the name...?) whilst using my Gorilla Arms. Darting in between cover, using hacks to allow me to close the distance, etc.

Storywise, I'm enjoying it, feeling quite immersed overall. I'm finding myself quite immersed in the side missions and gig content too, there's enough variety that I don't feel like I'm just doing the same old thing every time.

    I've had 2 game-breaking bugs:

    • First occurred during one of the main missions, I activated my scanner but it wouldn't deactivate. So I had to load one of my autosaves. Not much of a loss, but still annoying.
    • Second occurred when I saved and quit next to a NPC with dialog. When I came back I couldn't interact with them via that dialog. Again, just a reload of the latest autosave. No real loss.
I felt it was a tad spoiled by the graphical glitches I experienced in the beginning, but that was my own fault. I hadn't updated my graphics driver and once I had, it resolved all of them.

Overall, I'm really enjoying it. Pumping way more hours into it than anything else I've played recently. I attribute that largely, to the fact, I never got on the Cyberpunk hype train. I saw info on it but I was never excited or anticipating its release. The only reason I'm playing it is that a diehard CDPR fan friend of mine really wanted me to try it and bought me a key.

I kind of always feel when you get hyped for something it is most commonly a letdown as you get hyped, your expectations rise and as your expectations rise, the chance you are disappointed rises.

I personally was never interested in CDPR, but it is because it isnt my type of game. I can barely get into witcher 3.

Since I can't play flashy games any more because of my condition, I've been watching CohhCarnage Youtubes, now and then.  He plays the latest and greatest. He seems to not officially review but gives opinions along the way, however mostly always leans positive...... However he is the best for watching to make your own decision.

    What I see,
Seems boring and run of the mill and a GTA rip off.  The interactive of the world is not near as great as I built up in my head and how they marketed it. The setting is in the near future (2077).  But to me it's just 2020 underworld night life and an excuse to use holograms to show high tech, again been their done that too many times.

Half the people complain about bugs.... My experience seems people try and play on bad computers and are to proud to admit it.

Well stop trying to play on Laptops. GET A GOOD DESK TOP !!!!
I stand by that rule no matter who tries to give me shit !

I understand playing and watching are two different things, but I take that into account.

They're opinions, sometimes just repeating whatever they've heard, sometimes formed while "watching" others play a game.

It's entertainment. As such, not everyone will like or dislike anything.

Where "experience" comes into play for me is actual real life scenarios, like walking a mile in someone else's shoes. I don't need to spend money and play games I know I don't like. Granted, I'll also NOT give an opinion :)

If I see bugs happening in another player's game, do I really need to buy the game to say, "There are bugs."?

Like what? A few not often seen weapons and the NPC AI is just as dumb as any other NPC AI. You don't wanna give spoilers? About NPC combat? Yeah calling bullshit all over that, the reason is the NPCs don't do a damn thing that is special. The only way this isn't "typical" NPC behavior is if this is your first, and I use the term very loosely here, RPG game. Thinking a game this big would be workable out the gate is a foolish expectation.  Six months to a year after release is much more likely.  Don't get 'en early if you aren't willing to suffer some rough sledding.

My biggest gripe with the game though isnt a bug or glitches its the unignorable telephone quest spam.

Dont even know why they even bothered putting press T to answer because game answers it for you and there is no decline call option.

I ran quite a bit to get to a fast travel box and right before I pressed F to enter location get some needy npc calling me about some quest other than the one I was going after so game wouldn't let me use the box til the npc was done yapping.

Yeah specially the car for sale spam for things I will never buy. I have 2 bikes and 4 cars and didn't buy anything, and although one of my cars is an awesome sports car with insane acceleration and top speed (210+) I find myself using the same bike all the time because they're just so much easier to maneuver especially in traffic.

The one bit that has gotten to me and I sure hope they patch it in future fixes is the instant, teleporting mob of cops shooting at me whenever I accidentally do something like run over a civilian or shoot one by accident. I don't care that cops respond quickly but they should still need to travel to me not just materialize all around me.

This is very uninformed stance - what about those that followed Cyberpunk 2077 development for 8 years and have read all of those developer interviews where they promised features that are not in game?

Getting a good desktop isn't gonna bring any of those missing features into the game.

The AI will still be junk,  the car handling total shit, still very basic gun play, still absolute joke police system and still totally meaningless origin selection among two dozen other things that were promised and not delivered

So please stop reducing Cyberpunk 2077 problems to simple "get a good PC" because the problems the game has run 100 times deeper than that
I have a top of the line Pc, the ONLY thing I could improve today (and would if they weren't sold out everywhere) is my Graphics card. I am running a 2080ti, and am looking for 3080 founders (not paying ebay prices, I will wait). Other than that everything else is great i9, 32 gigs ram, z490 MB. And I still have bugs.

So sick of this "buy a better computer" BS. Especially from people that haven't even played the damn game in question.

You have to look at the game for what it is, if CDPR's modding is to the level of Bethesda than they stole a Bethesda market.

    This is an interesting point!

After Morrowind, Bethesda released buggy games that mods helped fix and even improved the overall experience  for many players.
