Man you have serious issues with this game. R U OK? If I had this large an obsession with a game that I'm actually playing I'd be wondering whether I needed therapy...and I'm not joking.
I agree. Seems to be looking for reasons to hate the game.
Sounds like he wants everything without any compromises.
People who wanted a refund have/are getting them, but that's not enough when the gaming media needs a story to get them through Xmas. I have been called out on this "are you saying they should not report the news", well after this article will the next one be "No News About CP 2077" as an article?

'This does not apply just to ED but SC or any other game. What they will get is Rebirth/X4, likely prettier but equally underwhelming and pointless.
It is incredibly difficult to design some meaningfull leg content that would fit a space ship game - simply because it is not a leg game.
It is just huge resource waste....'

With the Witcher games everything was handed to them on a silver platter, since they could take everything straight from the books. Andrzej Sapkowski had done all the hard work for them.
Cyberpunk 2077 has basically exposed CDPR for being a one trick Pony.
Coming from several playthroughs of Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, the story/mission writing in CyberPunk 2077 gotta be the biggest letdown. Its total weak sauce! Flat and boring!
Even getting Keanu Reeves involved could not save them from this disaster. I am actually suprised Keanu Reeves went along with this and did not demand better writing/dialog for his character.
No, it really wasn't. Don't underestimate the amount of creative work that was needed for all three Witcher games. The characters and the world and its history were all taken from the novels, true - but the story, the quests, additional characters, the monsters, the open world, its cities, settlements, zones, etc., all of it was crafted by CDPR.
(And the music!)
The in-game story itself has nothing to do with the books, it's a 'what if' story of Geralt after the events at the end of The Lady of the Lake. All the cities had to be created from scratch by CDPR - the descriptions in the book were not too detailed. The switch from W2 to the beautiful open world of W3 was all on CDPR. That includes the memorable quests, like the Bloody Baron and similar gems.
Neither would I call CDPR a one trick pony. Despite its problems, W1 was a success (even though the studio almost did not survive its production) and W2 was a big hit. Don't let the overwhelming presence of W3 blind you to what CDPR did with their other games.
I don't really play it, but I understand that Gwent is also doing well as far as card games go. Thronebreaker was fantastic - although its sales were apparently lower than expected.
CDPR does produce one game at a time, but that does not mean they've only had one hit and that's it. Quite the contrary.
That is not going to happen this is a failed endeavor ..
And why investors are lining up with a CAL
Basically clicking away text windows ruins every MMO, try to have fun instead of rushing things. Without story and lore all there is left is a bunch of mechanics.

People's idea of "failed" sure is weird... making profits from day one = fail?
Everything is not roses...but c'mon....way some people going after this company/game you would think that they kicked their dog or something.
Best case scenario that trend continues and CP2077 moves another 10.25 million units bringing it to a total of a whopping 23.25 million units sold in its first month, well within expectations. That isn't very realistic though so I think its safe to assume sales will half (still riding on the wave of Christmas gifts) which means another 5.125 million units will be sold. and surprise, that brings the total to a nice 18.125 million units sold, which is STILL in line with anticipated sales. But I get it, drama is more fun, especially when the numbers aren't there yet. So lets just wait until that entire first month is over and see what has been sold then, I am pretty sure its closer to 'good' then 'absolute failure and disaster.'

So the fact that I had not rushed out and bought this game as a result of being unable to play it seems to have been a blessing in disguise but I would rather like to have played it myself and made my own impression of how this game fared.
I am sorry for so many who were looking forward to it and were disappointed in some way but setting aside the clear deception on the lesser consoles I think they will fix this but there seems some underlying issues that may not be that easily fixed because they go to the root of the game like the story or lack of options or even a less than convincing world to play in.
Other developers must be taking notes and irregardless of what went on and why it happened there will be less impulse in the future to go grand and big with ideas. There seems to be an attached expectation that may backfire mightily when not met with less than stellar results. All in all this game may be a watershed moment in gaming and not in a good way.
I'm not through until I can clear all of the points on the map personally.
It's just got SO MUCH to do in it! Big city!

I want a mmorpg where people have gone through misery, have gone through school stuff and actually have had sex even. -sagil
W4 is also more or less confirmed, CDPR reached an agreement with Sapkowski some time ago regarding the rights to more games.
It almost certainly won't be THE Witcher - Geralt's story is done - but there's a lot in the works to draw on...
What do you do gameplay wise that satisfies you?I would hope more than what you could do in any game already out there?
How is this different than previous Cyber games or different than GTA or how is it even considered GOOD gameplay?
If they were looking for close to 30 million units sold they must think pretty low of us to think that many would be THAT EASY of a sell. I mean if they offered us some ground breaking gameplay or even some newish type world interaction, something MORe than just ray tracing, sure it might hold some value.
Check back in a month and see how many are still playing it.
Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.
First of all "new" is not needed by everyone, so you can drop that. Quite frankly, there is very little "new" and people looking for something never seen before are going to be very disappointed in any game they play.
then again, you are one of those people who are disappointed in many games you play if you even play any. It's Atlas at this point right?
I would never play GTA. I am playing this game. So there you go. Setting is there. Other Cyberpunk games? Don't know, never saw one I wanted to play other than this one.
Groundbreaking game play? Atlas doesn't have Ground breaking game play so you are a bit of a hypocrite.
There are very few games out there currently that ever really offered "ground breaking game play."
What a game needs to offer is something that resonates with the player, that excites and inspires them.
And more to the point, something that's fun. That's the key. If people are having fun then there you go.
Because if something ever does release that's "ground breaking" there is no guarantee that it will be fun.
As I mentioned in another thread I downloaded Hexen II and it's a blast. Nothing groundbreaking now but I will be spending the next week with it.
Why? Fun. All we need.

What's this?! Relatively good? 13 mil copies sold and you call it ... relatively good?
I GET IT, it seems mmorpg.com is very against Cyberpunk 2077. Did they break you a leg or something? Is fine if you PERSONALLY feel .."betrayed" by CDPR, but as an "News Writer", please try being..neutral.
Repeat after me : Cyberpunk 2077 is THE fastest selling game in the history and 13 million copies sold, while the game is out for like ..2 weeks, is AMAZING!
Thanks!
