It is absolutely normal for a game to have concurrent user #s drop after the first weekend. The release rush and the rush to level cap are a both real things.
It's a B2P game with no sub so it hasn't actually lost any players lol. Is the new release rush over? Yeah pretty well, but it doesn't mean what you're pretending it means.
Moving goalposts to just 1 weekend .. really .. It means exactly what it means ..
Less than 1/2 the people playing NW 4 weeks ago are playing it now .. Im not pretending it to mean anything but exactly what the numbers are ..
How the fuck would you even know that lol?
All you can say is that players are not logging in concurrently to the same extent they were doing it during that first weekend when the numbers were about 1 million worldwide.
Concurrency =/= "less than half the people playing." That's just your spin. For all you know more players are playing it but for a lower # of hours per day than during the release rush.
I know I'm playing less than the hours I put in during the first week but I'm still very much playing it.
Hmm lets see..
1st week 900,00 peak concurrent log ins
2nd week 750,00 peak concurrent log ins
3rd week 600,00 peak concurrent log ins
4th week 375,00 peak concurrent log ins ..
Seems obvious that less people are playing...
this chart will also show NW was on top 4 weeks ago and has a steady decline ..
You can see NW usage clearly on a steady decline ..
LOL so everyone that is being disappointed by the game is just doing forum PVP. But all the fanbois that defend it to the death without having a clue about end game at all because they are so newb. Well those people are just giving honest opinions.
How about people that thought it was decent early on, but found out the game is trash down the road.
My opinion is that anyone that says this game isn't critically broken right now is either A) not 60, not playing the game currently C) straight up delusional, D) completely ignorant, E) lying or All of the above.
There is really no between on this.
I would be glad to be proven wrong on this thou, maybe there is another reason.
Can you define critically broken. I think, perhaps, that means different things to different people.
Well other than the fact that he's over the top with his exaggerations as usual, he does have a point in that the higher level you are and the more involved you are with different activities the more aware you become of some very serious bugs,,, sort of like every MMO ever within a month of release.
Things like the windowed mode invulnerability exploit that has been used in wars to capture flag points, the newly introduced "c" (crouch) spamming bug/exploit in a sacred ground circle to get infinite overhealing, the dual life staff or fire staff animation canceling exploit to become a living light attack machine gun by swapping weapons with a macro, outpost rush not working, etc.
The high level areas are also pretty janky - like they weren't tested enough with oddities and horribly mistuned ultra-fast respawn rates in some areas that make it extremely difficult to complete some quests solo.
There are a lot of bugs and the patches so far are reactive, trying to quickly plug holes and creating new ones. I get the impression that these emergency fixes to the more serious exploits are not being tested enough and they create new issues more often than not.
But unlike him, I'm just rolling with the punches as they slowly fix things. Nothing to cry hysterically in forums about. Just a new MMO with new MMO problems.
I think that is the key though. A New mmo. Many Issues with New World are issues near all mmos face a month after release. To treat New World any different is disingenuous and shows title bias. I recognize the issues New World has and can be honest about them as a fan of the game but speaking to a couple of previous colleagues that are on the team they are aware and have a long term plan in place for the success of their title.
Will they succeed in tackling all the issues maybe not. Will they work diligently to create the best game they can based on their vision for what this project should look like? Sure.
What the future holds for the title longer term is up for speculation but the framework is in place and interest is there and mmos are generally created with a 60 to 120 month lifecycles in mind. It is not a sprint.
No I don't believe that's the problem.
In most new MMO's its lack of content that drives me away. The content is good, but I get bored of the lack of content.
In this game, the end content, people are saying, What is this trash. You don't want more of it, you want less of it, its making you sick doing it.
So they are going to have to fix the entire gameplay loops of these systems at end game. I just don't see that happening.
I wish I had time to play. Had not logged in the past 2-3 weeks as working a lil over 16 hours a day but do think about this MMO often since it fits my style of play. Hopefully by the time I hit end game content, it would have addressed alot of the issues stated here.

Both are fairly critical IMO as they likely foreshadow much greater shenanigans to come.

Of course not, anyone not agreeing with "My" opinion is clearly wrong, should be obvious.

I can only speak for myself.
I don’t want to play the same game everyday. When a game releases and I’m really enjoying it, I’ll usually binge on it for a week or two. Then I’ll keep it in rotation or drop it.
Most numbers mean shit to me because they’re all making multimillions.
My favourite games for this week are Gloomhaven, Transport Fever 2 and Going Medieval.
Gloomhaven and TF2 are my very favourite in their respective genres. I like so many systems in Going Medieval but I really think it needs multiplayer to hook me long term.
Also gotta throw in my Vermintide 2 and Deep Rock Galactic. Those usually get a roll every week

Just let the White Knight live in his denial , Its fun to watch , when its less than 200k in a month we get to here more fun Goal Post moving semantics that make no sense ..
Most people saw the light with NW in under 2 weeks , the dimmest bulbs in the box need more time to shine enough light to see its flaws.. There is living proof in this thread..

I'm still going to maintain that NW has just enough of everything, barely. Sure, there's been the usual rush to endgame and then the complaint there isn't more to do. Sure there's been bugs, duping, crashed economy, etc. Sure there's been an exodus of players since the start.
That's what all MMO's do. That's why I usually wait 6 months to a year to play seriously. I jumped in at launch, got a feel for the game world, liked it, and now am waiting for the cake to bake all the way through.
For a casual player who can only play a few hours a week, the game is great.
I'd put the release in the better than most category. They didn't crash. I'm not aware of any rollbacks. I experienced no lag, stutter, or rubber-banding. Most people seemed to be having fun at the beginning.

I like it quite a bit. But seriously... a gold dup bug in 2021?
Really?
Worse than just gold and item drops, literally players can reprogram your computer to crash and do even worse stuff.

Maybe that's why the game feels so responsive, because they are doing too much client side. Its so shitty that leaving things client side leaves you vulnerable to cheaters and hacks.

Could be that, could also be devs testing their own work, lazy testers; or the least likely, internal sabotage.
