I played over level 50 on Russian server. The game really begins at level 50 . There are too many things to do . You will get overwhelmed. Yes , the game is a mix of isometric and 3d play .
This is not a console game
Too bad Amazon started to censor it, when talking about the models.
Have patience ..in EU or NA Lost Ark is only in closed beta ( for testing purpose).
Im not a fanboy ..I am 48 years old and played lots of mmos starting with Meridian 59. Currently play ESO ( since 2015) , and Lost Ark Russian and can't w8 for its EU launch.
Lost Ark is not perfect , but trust me , there are so many things to do and the content is huge .You will have always something to do, after you reach lvl 50 .
Lost Ark is mix between Diablo , Black Desert ( it has sailing too) , Bless and many other MMOS . ..but with more content. lt has some originality too.You must try to play it until lvl 50 and you will see.

A mix of isometric and 3d? Just saw a couple of pictures and I thought good graphics but isometric ((I did tell you how sniffy I am about graphics )). That's interesting to hear what would you say the ratio of 3d to isometric is?

Game is isometric, graphic might be considered a bit dated but much better than other isometric games, aesthetics and level of details are amazing. Best is to try it out for yourself, it's f2p.

Lost Ark is not isometric. That's one of those words that most of the people who use it don't know what it means. It doesn't just mean an overhead view, which is how it is often used in a gaming context.
An isometric projection means that if an object moves around on the screen, it remains exactly the same size on the screen no matter where it goes. Pixel graphics are nearly always isometric, for example. You can have an isometric projection with 3D rendered graphics, and architectural or engineering drawings sometimes do. But in Lost Ark, a mob near the bottom of the screen will be drawn larger than one near the top, as is it is closer to the camera. That's not an isometry, as movement changes its size.

Well that's better, I am not feeling so sniffy now about it being (sort of ) isometric.

It's in an angle point of view which is in gaming terms Isometric. Not to be confused with Top down or the actual definition or meaning from lets say the Webster dictionary.

Saying that isometric "in gaming terms" means "something else and not actually isometric" is like how people would use "literally" to mean "not literally". If you use "isometric" to mean "not isometric", then what do you call it when a game actually is isometric, as nearly all pixel graphics games are?
I might be the only one on this site who thinks of isometric as primarily being about metric spaces. But I do think that words have meaning, and using arbitrary words to mean whatever you please while ignoring their actual meaning can greatly muddle your efforts at communication.

It hasn't muddle anything, you seem to have your own interpretation of what it means. Which lines up with majority of folks on this site who come up with how they feel about what a word means! The Isometric Viewpoint is an old term to describe the angle view from 8 bit to 3D games. It's not hard to go to youtube look up these generation games and see they still have the same Isometric viewpoint.
After viewing a few videos of it online I'm surprised anyone loaded this one up. Even if a few enjoyed it I don't understand the absolute hype around this title.
Perhaps it plays better than it looks on the videos? The game as described by some actually sound somewhat interesting, so I've been following it more.
Still on the fence but by March I might be looking for something to replace ESO as I'm coming to a close on what I set out to complete.

Apparently after you get off the first continent (season 1) the story and game get way better. I stopped playing after two days and hitting level 30, getting a strondhold, only because I didn't want to spoil it. I will say the end of the first part of the story was good, Lutheran Castle Siege was pretty epic. Here is a playthrough if you don't mind spoilers.
The tooltips only scale with gearscore. Your Traits, your runes, and your engravings all do not display. I doubt this will get fixed within the first year, but boy does it suck to need to sit at a dummy and play with every single option, because of how vague descriptions are.

@Kyleran - I just saw the tag about the pet rental. I hope my comment was accurate and if not I apologize. For me, its not the rental (ala Runes of Magic) that bothers me but just the overly complicated system for something so simple. Trying to keep track of currencies and what does what and how you earn what and so on and so on is very overwhelming.
9 months of playing ESO, and I just found out the other night what sort of coin daily endeavors pay and that they can be spent in the crown store.
