Just had my first world boss encounter. Took about 5 minutes or something, decent loot, got like 4 upgrades and a couple of cards. Make sure when you see a world boss announce your Channel in the Area chat (Your channel is displayed on top-right above the mini-map) and pay attention to the Area chat if you'd like to hunt word bosses. Kyleran was happy with the loot as well.

Wait, am I the one going around picking up all of the loot.  Clearly fake as cats are too lazy to do any actual work.

When you finish the first main quest line (the castle siege level), you will be awarded a Stronghold, yay. You can teleport yourself by pressing F2 then 'Song of Hearth and Home'.

    Stronghold isn't just about cosmetics and creating a player home, it does have its functions and rather important ones;

    1) Research & Upgrades: this isn't just about the Stronghold's features, there are also character and roster (account-wide) upgrades.

    2) Crafting Consumables: well this isn't a necessary function, because whatever you craft here, as far as I know, you can buy. But crafting them would be cheaper and doesn't take much time so it isn't all that bad.

    3) Missions: there is a mini-game in the headquarters from which you can send your troops to do missions. You can get mission rewards and also experience to upgrade your Stronghold.

    4) The Mansion: you need to upgrade your mansion in different ways to increase the missions' success chance and your crafting level.

    5) Alts: here you can send your alts to training here (yes, your actual alts) but they need to be at least 2 levels lower than your main. They will gain experience and level up. Sort of a passive leveling function. Since this game relies heavily on alts, this is kind of is the most important function of the Stronghold. You can unlock this at level 52. So you have to have one maxed-out+2 combat level toon to do so.

There are other stuff to do, purely cosmetics. Like decorations, having your chef cook for your feasts and actually inviting other players as guests, do cocaine, and other regular high fantasy partying activities.

No you didn't .. MQ line will take you to between 38 -45 dependent in how many side quests/ grinding you do ..

I'll likely be in the higher range as I do all the side quests and do not use a mount and just kill everything on the way .

I was expressing my (deadpan) surprise he had finished the mainline already on Day 2 while I'm just about to tackle my first "boss", some sort of graveyard bandit lord named "Kreg" or something like that.

Clearly has put more time into the game or is much better at progression than I.

Amazon Prime Gaming is currently giving away a free Battle Pack for Lost Ark and there are another 5 giveaways to come too.  ATM they are greyed out on the claim page.  I thought I'd mention it.

If you know how to level, it takes 10 hours to hit 50. If you don't but still try to rush through content it would take about 20.

I also had Kyleran the cat to help me through my hard times! ;)

Only played one so far, Gunlancer, level 21, just solo cleared the Morai dungeon in hard mode... It was hard.... Hadn't died until here, caught up quickly.... ;)

Also found out why having a lot of potions is good.  Came out with most of my gear broken, or nearly so.

Easy?  Not so much IMO, but YMMV.

Yeah, I just cleared that one last night on my sorceress and actually had to modify some of my build, which is honestly great to have to do (to me) while also having that flexibility to do so pretty much whenever I want.

NA East was wide open last night, apparently the game doesn't have the same appeal here or Amazon seriously misjudged the original EU server set ups.

I seemed to have offended someone by saying I can't be arsed to sit in a queue. Well damn I have better things to do with my time than waste it, like playing some other game until the queues let up. Quite honestly this white knighting is getting absurd. Even saying I refuse to waste time I have precious little of seems  to have offended them when it is perhaps the most logical thing to do.
