Is it about playing agianst other players or is it about playing with other players. No one is complaining about ganking the game's lore doesn't fit with PVP thus it doesn't fit. Their is no option.

LOL, dude i don't think you ever read LOTR before, or know anything about it. LOTR is not about PVP, its about good vs evil. THe reason you think PVP would be good is becuz all other mmo's have em(most). But you don't understand that LOTRO is a game that cannot have pvp. I have explained this already in previous posts if you need to know why.
it's going to have to be one hell of an amazing game since this game will not have any pvp elements..i can see in the future multiple people complaining about what to do after they hit the highest level since there is no PVP elemet..i wonder what they have planned

I believe it was the ex producer who said in a interview that they are exploring non conventional pvp ideas. I take that as meening not what we are used to as pvp. So there is a very good chance that there will be some form of pvp in the game just not the center focus of the game like it is in so many games. Take it to meen whatever youwant but for those who want pvp it is encouraging though it just might not be the pvp you are looking for. We will have to wait and see.
PVP does not make a game. If it did than Shadowbane would be a better success than it is. Other games are based around PVP, however few people know about them because frankly the PVP community although very loud is rather small. Furthermore many of these people are already playing MMORPHS, there are a lot out there.
What games need to do is get new people invovled, this allows the MMORPH community to evolve instead of people migrating to the next "hot game". Although PVP would provide the game with a lot of temporary players, extreme PVPers usually migrate.
IN the future there might be a sepperate server or some PVP elements interested. Instead of dealing with all the problems that PVP entails they can actually focus on what is important, and what the majority care about. Maybe an expansion pact will allow some PVP, you never know. Instead of complaining now you should support PVP in the future... and stop whinning.
Alright....PvP has to have opposite sides to work. I don't thing anyone is supporting elves killing elves etc....so most should agree that PvP has to stay Good vs. Evil to fit the lore. Ok, that rule is out of the way.

Haradrim: evil men with elephants (elephants unavailable) but without the skill and training of the men of Gondor or Rohan
Trolls: big, stupid with clubs
The point I'm trying to make is:...in a MMO, the evil side would be ineffective. From the dev's standpoint, staying within the contraints of lore, the evil side can never level up to the good side. Their weapons will NEVER be better than hacking, chopping blades...their intelligence will NEVER be more than a man's, dwarf's or elf's....the only way an orc can survive in Middle-earth is to roam it in great numbers...and that's what I think will get old after awhile for PvP'ers....constantly getting their a** kicked unless they are grouped in great numbers because that was what the lore was all about. Solitary orcs did not roam the lands of Middle-earth, they were always under the leadership of a chief or captain. So those dreaming of playing an orc, moving up in levels and having all these cool specials...well...can keep dreaming because ORCS DON'T HAVE SPECIALS...they can go nowhere in either training or weapons upgrades...you as the evil side will get pissed really quick when you find out you max out as level 20 (ex.) while the free people continue to climb levels....
So what's more important to a player? The lore of Middle-earth or PvP? You can't have both, have fun, and stay true to the works of Tolkien.

And how is that different from any other game? Usually expansion packs cover that issue. If this game does not interest you, then leave it alone. Not every game is for everyone and you have expressed your views. Let's leave it at that.
My problem is, I like Lord of the Rings. But if the gameplay is the same old grind then I'll probably get bored of it in a month. I just want a great game made, thats all. And I feel having all areas implemented (PVP, Crafting etc) will allow people to move from one area to the next when they get bored. Simple as that.

I saw the world as beatiful place but also as very dangerous place in which you were really never safe, one might say it was actually pretty dark place to be in. In mmorpg´s the only way really to make world feel dangerous and full of suprises is to have PvP and that is because NPC´s will never match the challenge and unpredictibility that human mind can offer.
The bottom line is that without well implemented PvP system they could just call this game Everquest 5000 because atleast imo it loses what made ME such a intresting place to read about.

Pvper's the vast majortiy of them don't care about story lines or wether the game is a true reflection of tolkiens writings. All they care about is the ability to go one on one or 10 on 10 against other players. As far as this game is concerned they are a minority compared to the already huge tolkien fan base that has been building up since the books were first released. Turbine can't just do anything they please with this game and they are looking into unconventional pvp, now what that meens i have not the foggiest idea. If they game does not suit you and your play style then check out darkfall a all out pvp fest, no safe zones of anykind, you can hit or kill anyone friend or foe. It is a fact of life not every game is for everyone. This game is more for the fans of tolkien than it will ever be for the avid pvp fanactics.

I would never shoot you down for haveing your opinion. I understand that alot of people like to duel and test there caracter build. That is cool. There is no way of knowing if the devs are planning on including dueling in this game or not. I myself like to pvp now and then. I am not a avid pvp fanattic that can't live without pvp. I have stated before that i plan to play two games, For pvp i will play Darkfall and for rpg i wil play LOTRO. Each to there owne i saw.

Why not have PvP arenas like Guild Wars?
Because in middle earth there are no gladiator type arenas.
