This might be a old post but Burning ticked me off alittle. If you knew Warhammer you would know this game will more the likely be the opposite of what you said. Infact, my guess would be that this game is going to be PvP heavy. Maybe you should do alittle research next time.

    Modjoe86- Gambling is a sin.

Thats the most retarded thing I have heard in awhile. You obviously didnt play many of the original MMOs.

loot drops do make things interesting, as long as everyone has access to the same level of equipment at pretty much the same time, ala uo, otherwise it doesnt make sense to have loot dropping, now money dropping is different, or even making a loot table for pcs, or when you kill you collect something like their head, or ear etc. that could be traded for something valuable or whatever

Well droping items on pvp isn't such a bad idea only if u put some restrictions.
Like droping items on pvp will only occur on a duel like pvp where both participants have agreed to do battle. At this "duel" only the participants would be able to hurt it's other (no ganging or aggro mobs attacking any of the participants). This "duel" wouldn't neceserily be 1v1, it could be 2v2 3v3 (XvX) or even 1v2 1v3 (XvY) as long as all the participants agree(maybe increasing/decreasing the %of droping items at uneven duels). Then the droping of item would add a challenge. Free pvp will also exist but with no serious(item droping) benifits/drawbacks, and pking penalting will also exist.
Thats not what i like or dont like but my opinion on how item droping could work in PvP.

Well they already said it'll be level based and no open PVP, just RVR.

    Sounds like DAOC to me

which isnt a bad thing at all, as long as they dont do what they did with daoc with expansions, being required to buy and expansion to stay competitive is the reason i no longer play that game, and i did play uo, the first true free for all game, and i loved it, and its pvp, but i have to say that rvr always made me feel more involved and more like i was accomplishing something other than taking the other guys stuff, i do miss loot drops off pks though

L2 is a harsh grind for people who play 24/7 non stop (aka koreans).
Losing loot is fun, because if I kill 10 players in a row I amass great wealth in the game and I make true enemies when they feel the sting of losing their items.
THe best reward is when you kill a player and take their loot. I'm not interested in killing a bunch of players for points then using those points to receieve and item that did not once belong to another player. I like taking peoples loot and jacking them, that is fun.
Weak minded players. PVE is for the stupid and weak. This game is for people who play poker without betting any money and you know how stupid and non-risky that is.

image ROFL image heheh, you're such a wanker. If you limit yourself to PvP games only you're obviously lacking somewhat in imagination.  Have you played HL2, or did you just buy it for CS:S? Have you played morrowind?  Have you played CoD/CoD2 single player missions?  Did you play Guild Wars and just pile straight into lvl20 PvP without building up a PvE character first?  Have you played any of the Battlefield games or is real PvP a bit too scary for you?  Ever played any of the Grand Theft Auto games, or did you play GTA San Andreas just for the Hot Coffee mod because the rest of the game (which is PvE) would mean you are stupid and weak minded.  Did you ever play Co-op mode in Quake II?  How about Neverwinter Nights, Baldurs Gate I & II, Planescape Torment, or are those for weak minded stupid players too?

Or perhaps you only play PvP because no one in their right mind would want to group with such an arrogant and unpleasant person such as yourself who spends most of their time up to his neck in his own rectum?  ROFL, I bet you're the sort of person who can't stand getting whipped in online first person shooters so ends up teamkilling everyone for attention.

But, of course, seeing as you have such amazing prophetic powers, you already knew that and I didn't need to tell you

Oh, and as for poker it can actually be played for fun (especially if the removal of clothes is involved).  Although I'm not sure if you could find anyone willing to play for fun as you sound like someone who'll steal the steam off my piss.

So there you go, you gave us your informative and subjective opinion, now you have mine and it probably contributes as much constructive criticism to the subejct as yours did.

Weak and idiot's indeed.  Smell the shit that you're shovelling boy!

what he wants a few of us want a uo pre trammel game with good graphics.

Sadly guy those few of us that loved that game are dieing out. The new gamers need their hands held and thier butts wiped.

For those unaware check out the uo forums on thise website. Lots of old timers still reminice of the golden days.

What we want is simple give us avatuar models and a big world. Have 0 uber weapons just player crafted stuff and the resources to make them. Then say there ya go guys have fun. That was uo, cold brutal scary exciteing. If only you knew the heart pounding feeling of seeing a red name pop on your screen. Knowing there was gonna be a fight and if ya lose you lost everything on ya. It was adrenaline rush and make ya dance somtimes other times cry lol.

    back to warhammer

I bet it will be a damn rvr game with craptastic boreing pve lvl based system. A horrible crafting system. Grossly imbalanced classes and the horrible crowd control speel spam of daoc. While this still beats any other game on the market its still crap.

IM also gonna start classifying players lol

one hand ya got the skill based no lvl players who want 0 uber magic garbage. Just player made stuff that makes things simple you die lose stuff easily replaced

other hand you got the class templete lvl players who want to spend 50 hours doing silly quests to obtain some weapon that allows them to beat other players and not know there class.

i prefer equal playing field let the better player win not the damn items.but this goes back to the cookie cutter vs orinal games. it was eq vs uo in the beginning and now with 300 eq clones aka wow daoc ect players dont even have a concept of what could be.

I want a game where loot is a mild advantage not an "I WIN" button. I think Mythic did a great job of this in DAoC before they implemented artifacts.

I would love a game where the player who dies loses some loot, not everything. I mean, it is alot of fun to have a trophy from winning a fight, but i can imagine that it would suck incredibly to be set back 3 months of questing/farming because you lose one fight.

Level should also have less of an effect on a fight. A system where a player's twitch ability weighs into the equation makes for a much more dynamic fight. It also allows for lower level players to defend themselves a little better.

    Right on the Money!

WARHAMMER Online will be a success is my prediction, when you got the makers of DAoC out there and putting there minds into a new game, well you got a winner.

I hate to sound like I got my head up Mythics Ass, but I have never had a problem with them and their customer support has always been great to me. So I do support Mythic and alot of their choices. This game will be successful.

The only way this game will fail if MYTHIC stops listening to their customers.
